http://www.starwarsfanworks.com

That's the address of the newest site in the StarWarz.com network that will go live within the next month. As for what the site will include, we'll leave some suspense on that for the moment, but suffice to say, when we call it a real "home" for the fan audio genre, we mean it.

Check out the Flash Teaser now at the site's address.

(When the site goes live, the teaser will remain, but we'll tuck it away into a little corner of the site, just for the curious.)

Thanks to Rich Sigfrit for giving life to my trailer script and to Sonja Nelson for creating the Fanworks logo used in the teaser.

Time to get excited, no?

I'll answer what questions you might have before launch, but I'll try to remain at least a little cryptic. Where's the fun in spoiling things, right?

(And, yes, since it's a teaser, the "click logo for site" will just repeat the teaser. Once the site's open, it'll send you to the site itself.)

Heh, what can ya do?

Then again, emails are usually on there. The biggest problem with emails is length. I should change it to "send pithy comments," y'know, short and concise points.

But then I'd have to add "name and town, name and town, name and town, if you wish to...opine."

::wonders how many got that::

Speaking of the site, it looks like I just struck up a deal to host the (granted very small, like smaller than one episode of ChronoRadio in file size, so it's no huge deal to host) recent audio parody "Coruscant?"

And we may host a page, but not the actual download files, for Rise of Nobility, to help them gather some attention from outside the communities they're already into. I'm making up a dummy page to run by Keith Abbott soon.

we can host certain files i think depending on the size but mirrors will always help.

it's up to nathan (and me) to decide that however...

Well, with RON, they've got a lot of hosting setups going, so what they're more interested in is the exposure rather than yet another mirror. Works for me, since it lets us promote another big part of the genre, without the bandwidth draw.

Well, let's see. I can juggle. Oh wait, you can't see that on radio. nevermind.

Well, we can turn that "may" into "will" on Rise of Nobility.

They'll be using the "Page-Hosting" option, which is basically me setting up a page for them, and then having links to their own independent download locations.

Basically, we'll be offering to list anything we can find with just simple link listings, or page-hosting, which is what RON's getting, where we host a page but no files. Or there are two actual hosting setups, which is co-hosting where we host major files and they host anything else and have a separate independent site or download setup, or full hosting, where we host everything and are the only site for the project.

Basically, we want to promote the genre to the max, not worry about "turf" issues as . . . some places have.

I did... you'd have to change the name to The Butler Factor...

Nah, I'd just have to change my name to something fitting.

Nathan Chrono, so it could be the Chrono Factor or something.

Then people could "Oh-peen-yey...that's opine in French."

Nate-Dogg,

Who's that band playing in the teaser banner?

I'm looking forward to this. I hope I can contribute in some way.

That's Aimee Allen's "Revolution." The version used is taken directly from the credits of "Birds of Prey," but the real song is pretty good and out there on her CD.

A week go to now. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Also, I just got the first episode of Rich's new show that'll be premiering on the site. You all should like it. He's even got an interview with "Admiral Motti" to go with the first episode.

Still gettin' there. Keith and the Rise of Nobility folks ran into some issues when Natalie Empire released RON on their mirror a week early, so they're going ahead and launching tonight. We'll have our mirrors active as of the site opening on Monday (or heck, maybe Sunday night after Dragon*Con is done with for the night).

That helps a little, actually, so now our "Newest Release" features has only the two new shows being released the same day as the site. With RON, it would've been three on top of each other, which looked a tad odd. Usually, we'll be keeping it to one.

6 days now, ey?

EDIT: Seeing as how the site's been open for over a year and the teaser is offline, I'm locking this old thread.
