Star Wars: The Clone Wars,
set right where Episode II left off.

Internet reviews say "It wasn't the best game, but it
wasn't bad."
Gamespy said "It rose above Jedi Power Battles ashes..."
and "Real gamers would appreciate this game
for its non-stop tense action and heart-pounding battles..."
We've heard from official Game reviews,
now let's hear it from the fans.
What did you think about this game?

Personally I loved Jedi Power Battles, so I think it'll
be great (I haven't played it yet)
They said it's like Star Wars: Demolition and Rogue Squadron mixed together
but with greater thrills and effects.
What say you?

I rented it. Some levels where awesome and fun, others impossible to get though on the first try. I hate that about these types of games. Unless you know excatly what to do before you get to a sopt, you die and have to start over.

Maybe I'll do a review of it for my site, along with Bounty Hunter and Emperor's Tomb.

IMO the game was good. The action was pretty good and it did have a rouge squadron feel to it. When you were able to be anakin, obi, and mace with lightsabers that was not good. Compared to jedi power battles, KOTOR, and Jedi outcast the lightsaber action was clumsy and limited. The game wasnt about lightsaber battles though, so overall it was a good game, but only ship wise.

The main problem I found gameplay wise was the auto aim - it destroyed any challenge that might have been. I despise auto aiming in any game but when you can't even turn it off it smells of a rush job.
The bonuses were made redundent because multiplayer is so pitifull and not worth farting on - no single player levels, ships or any rewards. Thats what gave RS such replay value.
Oh, and for a GC game the graphics stunk of a lazy PS2 port with low res textures, almost no bump mapping and no specular highlights. Tsk, the GC can do this without wasting a single cycle of processing time.
As for the third person sections -jeezus christ what a debacle. No jump, god awfull AI and no control over your character made it feel like a shareware game. A bad shareware game.

On the bright side, flying around in the Genosian battle was fun - once.

For some reason I loved this game. Sure it isn't perfect, but it's pretty close. This game was for me what Battle for Naboo should've been. That game took away my love of ground based combat while Clone Wars brought it back.

Still though, rent it before buying it although that's not what I did.

Battle For Naboo was and is still the worst use of a Star Wars licence in a video game to date, apart from Yoda Stories of course. Tsk on LucasArts, they should know better.

I liked this game, and the multiplayer was nice for Star Wars. I think (on the Gamecube) it had great graphics, although many will disagree.

I think you'll find I already did disagree, therefore your disagreeing with me which I find most disagreeable. Ahem.

Indeed I did.

I thought it was okay. I liked the big battles and everything. I liked the movies...kinda...But i still think there's a difference between Jedi Power Battles and this. JPB is more a jedi power game...Clone Wars is more..well...a Jedi War...

Actually, it's more of a game of random rubbishness. The fact that you can't see 50 feet in front of you because of fogging and bad programming doesn't help.

That'll learn me fer buying a game just cause it has the STAR WARS logo on it. *Mumble*, *complain* etc....

Worst level had to be the level in the junk yard or whatever, godawful, the game wasn't worth anymore than an over-the-weekend rental (this from a guy that helps run a site that specializes in all thing CLONE WARS).

I have to disagree with everyone anti-CW, well there were some unsavory parts of the game, I still think it was a good game. There have been much worse Star Wars games to come out of the doors of LucasArts.

In fact, I might go play the game now after writing this style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif But I do agree on some things, the graphics weren't god awful terrible, but they could've used some improvement. Some of the levels had some design flaws, but after a while you just don't notice 'em.

Oh well just my opinion, like it matters! haha

I've played a lot of games people would call crappy over the years that I have fell in love. The only reason I'm the dedicated Star Wars fan I am today is because I played Rebel Assault 2 when I was a little kid. I still remember that, I had never seen Star Wars in my life and I had no intention too. But one day as a birthday gift I got Rebel Assault 2. The game was crap for graphics and had terrible FMV sequences (after playing it again today), but becuase of it I saw the movies, played more games, and am now here writing in this forum. But I shall end my useless rambling right.....now.

Yeah but there's also been much better games too.

Hey, you know, you're right. I must've missed the part where I said it was the best game though. I was merely stating that its not the worst. I don't beleive we all play the single best Star Wars game out there. I mean, is that all you play? One game? But thank you so much for pointing that fact out to me. Good man TK.

Ahhh...I'm just kidding though.

Whatever, as far as I'm concerned CW ranks among the worst SW games.

I have it for XBox and it is awesome on Xbox live.

i didn't like it. i found it boring. the controls were clumsy and the graphics weren't impressive at all and it certainly didn't give me that star wars feeling.

The main thing that bugged me abotu CW was the graphics, and the impossible to beat final level, but the graphics seemed significantly improved for the X-box.

I'm in tears. My housemate, who has never played any game other then Champ Manager 4, insists on playing CW whenever he enters the sacred "space" of my Nintendo collection. GOD NO!
This game has all the charm of a puss infected wart. With a big ol' corn on top of it. Covered in dog poop. Which in turn is covered with the pubic hair of George W. And a Wendy burger is also near it.

I have high doubts that anyone will read this thread
because it's old, but I thought I put in a few of my own words.

I will not say that Clone Wars was the worst game in LucasArts'
series of games... And I will not say that it was the best game.
On average, I'd give it a rating of 5
I liked it but was disappointed in its lack of longer levels and MORE levels.
It was simply too short for my taste.
2 1/2 hours after purchasing the game, I was sitting watching
the screen as the credits began to role.
I did enjoy the game a lot but, you know I was expecting more
can I say Ground Levels! Too many vehicle levels and not enough person levels. I feel there should have been a fair amount between both.
Yes the ground levels were not great but I liked them.
I didn't like the simplicity of just holding down the action button to send the Jedi into a series of moves. I like a challenge of figuring out new techniques and combos. I did like the "Force Push" and "Lightsaber Throw" abilities... but the game lacked MORE moves.

The graphics were probably a 6 out of 10, good enough for me
because I play more for the game instead of the graphics.
The music was a 8, I liked the addition of tracks from the Original Trilogy.
On the ground levels, I didn't like the camera angle of "1st Person View"
I was expecting more along the lines of being able to see the Jedi's hands outstretched in front of you holding the lightsaber. And I would've liked the camera ability to flip upside down and around as Mace Windu does his flip.
One thing I loved about the game was when you would destroy an enemy, you'd see it cartwheeling in flames, usually making you have to hover out of the way before it explodes over top of you, making it more realistic.
I loved the "Arena" battle in Multiplayer mode.
That is usually where I spend most of my time when playing the game.

Now I like going back to the levels using the "Infinite Ammo" cheat (chosen1 on GameCube) and flood my enemies (especially the Reaper) with waves of missiles, and even really cheating and using the (1withforce on GameCube) Invincible cheat style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/joystick.gif

So as I said, I liked the game, but I give it a rating of 5
