I was watching Gremlins 2 the other day and I noticed something ironic.

Christopher Lee plays sort of a mad scientist. His first line is: "How's the cloning coming?"

I thought that was kind of interesting.

gremlins 2 is hilarious. it satirizes the first along with corporate america and american media much like robocop 2, which is also a bit underrated. if you're hesitant to see it because it doesn't look like something you can take seriously, you should know that it's not intended to be taken seriously.

Your'e the first person I have ever met who had anything positive to say about this movie!

I love Gremlins, extremly crazy fun, Gizmo was my childhood hero.

Gremlins 2 never takes itself too seriously. You are right, it satirizes itself. Christoper Lee is the only character to die I think. He was really good in it I think. I liked the crazy gremlin with the eyes balls.

heh. yeah. it's difficult to not to laugh just thinking about him. i like the sophisticated gremlin with all the insightful commentary.

edit:

actually, about characters in gremlins movies dying, the old woman who is launched out her window and lands head-down in the snow must have broken her neck. and also the old chinese guy with the antique shop that smokes too much. he dies. but of natural causes. unless there was some sort of corporate conspiracy. but i won't get into galacticsenate-style speculation about this.

well, the old lady in the first one dies for sure. The body in the snow is a good indication.

But in the second one, yeah Chris Lee is the only one the gremlins kill.

Robocop II is a sequel that sucked, but I liked Gremlins 2. I haven't seen it in a long time though.

Robocop 2 was too funny to be taken serious.

Robocop 3 was a better sequel.

robocop 3 was terrible, are you kidding?

robocop 2 was directed by what'shisface. director of empire. the difference between robocop 2 and 3 is that robocop 2 is intended to be funny. robocop 3 takes itself seriously, which is a mistake. and it's toned down to a pg-13 rating. do you even remember it? the war with all the punkers... the japanese swordsman androids... the different actor playing murphy. it's totally ridiculous, but not in a good way like robocop 2. remember in robocop 2 when that commercial is played with the businessman that chooses the wrong corporation for some account, which he ends up losing, and then he proceeds to shoot himself in the head and the camera zooms in on a picture of his daughter? that's pure comic gold, my friend.

they do alot of the same things in robocop 3. everytime someone is fired, they kill themselves.

and the android factor was cool. It made something more interesting than another robot. I agree, it's pg-13 rating was not warranted, these movies are R-rated saga.

however, more people agree that the third was better than the second. but the first is a great film.

i refuse to believe that people prefer 3 over 2.

robocop flies in robocop 3......... robocop 3 was made for ten year olds. really. you must have been ten last time you saw these films. i challenge you to rent robocop 2 and 3 and then to tell me that 3 is better.

Dude,

I saw it on T.V. not too long ago.

Robocop 2 could have been a serious film. The first one was semi-serious in it's intentions. Very much a Paul Veronan (Sp?) film. The sequel was a rip off of his style. the third, while I agree not great, was rated as a better movie because it actually said something meaningful, and the villains were better.

Robocop 1 was a classic,
Robocop 2 wasnt as good, but was funny and had a great villian/robot
Robocop 3 was the worst movie ever

have you seen robocop 3 recently??

what's paul veronan's style? didn't he direct showgirls?

Jedi Killer

yes ive seen Robo3 recently. its terrible. its a different Robocop actor, the action is boring, the robots are stupid and the effects are terrible and like someone said before it is PG13. its a made for TV movie or a direct to home video

bodhisattva yoda

it was released in theatres, but it flopped. it really was toned down for kids and thus lost the essense of the first two films. i'd say, next to neverending story 2 and 3, it's one of the worst sequels ever made.

I KNOWWWW it was released in theaters. I remember when it was. I was just saying it should be a made for tv movie.

I remember the neverending story 2 being bad, but do tell me about 3? I dont even remember that being in the theaters

bodhisattva yoda

i don't think it was in theatres. in fact, i don't believe i've seen it. perhaps parts of it. but it isn't even based on the neverending story novel.

Nope Neverending Story 3 wasn't in theaters. Wasn't good either.

the second one was alright, kinds ruined the magic of the first one by putting the guy in the book, and not letting him read it.

Robocop 3 was originally an R-rated film i heard. They realized that because the second one was a failure, thye needed to try and make money with a PG-13 film. however, this probably was still very violent for a pg-13 film. After Batman returns which redefined the ratings (The film was PG-13 when many critics bashed it for not being R) then Robocop 3 was considered not as bad.
