I have been instructed by Lucasfilm to tell everyone the following about Starwars.com HYPERSPACE:
Fan site postings, coverage and activity must not create a substitute for joining, participating or viewing any part of HYPERSPACE. This would include linking to or promotion of any such substitutes - including within any message boards you sponsor or host.
Images and other media files: Any image published in HYPERSPACE is strictly off limits for republishing of any kind. This includes webcam images, the Photoreceptor series, Episode III set diaries, video screenshots and more.
Text excerpts: The text portions of Hyperspace are very much part of the experience and as such excerpts or quotation of any kind is officially not permitted. If you read something worth discussing, please feel free to do so, but without quotation of the source material. This would be similar to your discussion of a Star Wars book or comic - a product for sale that you would not attempt to reproduce.
Not a substitute: Content posting by anyone should not constitute a substitution for Hyperspace content.
These are the rules we will be strictly enforcing. There are no grey areas and there should be NO questions on any of this. It's cut and dry. ANY breaking of these rules will not be tolerated. Anyone who breaks these rules and posts ANYTHING directly from HYPERSPACE, even a single QUOTE will be perm. banned, with no questions asked. When you break these rules you will put this entire site at risk of being closed at a moment's notice. It takes one phone call from a Lucasfilm laywer and the whole place goes bye bye forever - and possibly my OTHER sites. Keep to the rules and nothing will go wrong.
Now, in my honest opinion, this is definitely one of the most well-behaved boards I've ever encountered so I know there won't be any problems or issues with you all, however I have to make the rules clear for EVERYONE - new people and old timers. This way there's no argument.
These rules are in place and will be strictly enforced so please don't complain about them or try to move to have them changed. There is no room for negotiation here. You can discuss the stuff, as stated, just don't let me or anyone catch you quoting, cutting and pasting, linking to or doing anything against the rules of HYPERSPACE as printed above. If you see anyone breaking the rules, please report them immediately.
Remember - Do NOT post anything you see from HYPERSPACE here on the boards. Text or images or ANYTHING. You can talk about it, but no links, no pics, no actual text from there, cut/pasting - NOTHING. This is a pay service and if you give it away for free, I AM HELD INDIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE and I won't have it.
