I'm old so I still call them "albums" but if I had to choose a LIVE album I had to take with me on a desert island for a while, I'd have to say:
Wings - Wings Over America
3LPs/2CDs worth of the most ecclectic Rock N Roll you'll ever hear.
Love it.
Contenders:
The Police - Live
Kiss Alive II
Kiss Alive
JediKeri.

Nobody would know who they are...but it's a band called Stairwell. They were a christian accapella group, and I got to go to their last concert and it was recorded live. I know some of the members so it was a little extra special.

Grandpa will kick your azz in Halo tomorrow.
well, I don't know if it's the best live album ever (I've only heard 3 I think) but I guess I'd take Back in the US cause it's got a lot of songs that I'd rather have in the studio versions
Well....
ALL/Decendents double-cd that was released last year, entitled "ALL Plus One" - sweet CD, a little less than 50 songs. Classic punk from the early 80's all the way through 2001.
All started out as the Decendents, and now both bands simply switch off singers (Milo Aukerman and Chad Price), similar songs, just fantastic.
Aside from that the following are also kick ass live albums:
Descendents "Livage"
Descendents "Hallraker"
ALL "Trailblazer"
Social Distortion "Live at the Roxy"
Jawbreaker "Live 4/30/96"
Face to Face "Live"

There is no band above Dave Matthews Band!
And I was a fan before 14 year old girls thought he was cool style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif
No really, if you like live jam bands, get some of the live CDs that are out.... MAN! they can play!

Technically that is not DMB, that is just Dave Matthews, accompanied by Tim Reynolds...
BUT if you like that, I recommend Listener Supported, Live in Chicago, and Denver one as well...
