you don't appreciate good art when you see it. It's probably one of the most influential movie ever made.

A thriller, starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, about two cops searching for a serial killer who murders victims in ways that reflect the sin thay have committed. Really stylish and very well written. The ending will stick out in yur mind. This is definatly not a kid movie. very gruesome. Extremly well acted though. Kevin Spacey is the villian too, which he does so well.

I saw it, I liked it alot. Collin Farrell is not just another pretty face. He's got star power. I laughed alot becuase it had some funny moments. Good work by the cast. Katie Holmes was underused and wasted. Keifer sutherland was superb, best use of a voice over since Gollum.

Forrest Whitaker. He is a great actor. Almost got an Oscar nomination for Clint Eastwood's Bird (he won the Cannes award for acting) he also a superb character actor. He was also in PLatoon, but wasn't really flashy.
Crying game starred him, Stephan Rea (superb) and Miranda Richardson. I agree, disgusting scenes, but it almost won best picture. produders of America gave it the award, but the academy gave it to Unforgiven (irony, Eastwood's movie)

i agree. Disney is so full of itself it makes alot of bad sequels. they do that also to movies that were bad to begin with. Treasure PLanet I didn't like and it failed anyway. Atlantis had some good music, about it.
Aladdin was one of the greats, and they made a sequels that was too crazy. It was good how it ended. The second sequel (the 40 theives) was alright in terms of story, and neat how it linked the two arabian tales together. However, it was unnecessary.
Bambi 2? I don;t know. I hope not.
Beauty and the Beast 2 was more of an inbetween film (seeing as the end of the first was the end of the story)

at least one of the most uplifting endings. It actually brings a smile to your face even after the entire film is gritty and sad. I almost got scared thinking Morgan Freeman would kill himself, but he didn't so i was happy.
Tim Robbin's was robbed of an Oscar nomination btw. What a performance.

MTV Viewers Name 'Two Towers' Best Movie
By Bob Tourtellotte
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Superheroes and special effects wizards battled for the spotlight at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards on Saturday, claiming several top trophies including the best movie prize for "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers."
Digital effects-filled "Two Towers," the middle chapter in the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy about an epic battle for control of Middle Earth, earned four awards, more than any other film.
Along with best movie, MTV viewers gave it best action sequence, on-screen team for stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and digitally-created Gollum, as well as a new honor for virtual performance for Gollum.
Winners were picked from a poll of viewers who watch cable TV network MTV and sister channel MTV2.
Among superhero movies winning awards was "Spider-Man," about the web-spinning crime fighter, which earned Kirsten Dunst the title best actress and her and co-star Tobey Maguire the honor of best on-screen kiss.
The award for breakthrough actress went to Jennifer Garner for her comic book hero role of Elektra in "Daredevil."
Rapper Eminem was named best actor in a film, as well as breakthrough performance by an actor in "8 Mile," the tale of his early days trying to make it in Detroit's hip hop clubs.
The MTV Movie Awards take place each year during the summer movie season and offer a good look at what the youth culture likes in films, which was personified by young Daveigh Chase who took home the award for best villain in "The Ring."
"Oh my gosh, this so rocks," Chase said on stage after grabbing her MTV statue -- a bucket of golden popcorn.
The show also gives fans a lively counterpart to staid, old Hollywood awards like the Oscars with MTV categories including best fight. That title went to Force master Yoda for his lightsaber battle with Christopher Lee in "Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones."
Mike Myers won the golden popcorn bucket for best comedic role as spy Austin Powers in "Austin Powers in Goldmember."
MTV added an award for best transatlantic breakthrough performer, and that went to Colin Farrell in "Phone Booth."
The awards show will air on June 5. Last year's MTV Movie Awards was watched by over 7 million viewers and was MTV's most-viewed movie award show ever among audiences aged 12 to 34.
MTV is a division of media company Viacom Inc.

I agree, I give him best breakthrough, but best perfromance is a strech. I more so would have given Tobey Maguire the award.

Okay. He acted good. But I still say that he didn't do a good job of being Peter Parker.
The whole thing is, he WAS Peter Parker. He did it exactly the way it is in the comics. Though, I doubt the stunts of him swinging were him in the suit, I still think he was the best choice they could come up with.

The CGI I agree, was not really great. But then again, the thing is a comic book, so if it looks cartoony, It might have been intentional. Opening a little before Episode 2 wasn't it's fault. It was the fault of TPM for being crappy and Losing Star Wars fans. Spiderman had two huge weekends, holding its own.

CGI is not perfect. Sorry to bust everyone's bubble but the fact is that what they do in films is incredible. NO human could do the kind of things that Neo does without being CGI.
The Hulk will look better in the film release. I guarantee.

Do any of you guys remember the ending of the third Aladdin movie? In my opinion, it contained the funniest part (and really the only part I even remember). Genie does an impression of Hudson from "Aliens"....game over, man game over. I just thought that was interesting, to have a reference to such an obscure line from a movie.

Saving Private Ryan definately keeps your attention in the beginning. Granted the first 5 minutes are the older Private Ryan stumbling through the cemetary with his hot grand-daughters (oh there were other people there style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif ) but once it flashes back to D-Day you can't help but be captivated.
Titanic had the worst first 5 minutes ever. Hell the worst hour-hour and a half ever. The movie was great for the historical aspect of it (the iceberg, the poor people trapped in the lower decks, the sinking of the ship, the band playing until the end, etc.) because it really happened like that but the story of Jack and Rose was pathetic. The fact that it is the highest grossing movie of all-time, because high school girls throughout America went over and over and over and over and over to see Leo, is a slap in the face to all of the movies that are soooooo much better.
Titanic is just one of the worst films ever.
It's just depressing that James Cameron had to come up with the idea. I mean, why not make a generalization of a film, not focused on two people, but all the major people onboard. That would have been more interesting and more meaningful. Not about Leo getting laid.
Worst Best Picture ever, in terms of acting and story. The film looks incredible, but that's just the look.

oh yea a beautiful mind was waaaayyy to long and was kinda creepy. of course i think almost everything is creepy...
i know everyone will hate me for this but Two Towers was really, really bad. but thats just because i love the books the way they are. :sigh: books into movies never works.
they destroyed my favorite character, which is treebeard, and destroyed the ents as a people. they didn't even give the dignity to treebeard and the ents to decide on their own to fight isenguard. also they made the ents to be stupid or mentally sluggish...
honestly how could the ents not know that sauromon was ripping out their trees. They live there!! they are the shephards of the trees, their job is to take care of the trees. so how would they not know that saromon was destroying them!! the only reason why did that was so pipen and merry could make that stupid speech about sticking together, saving middle earth, and humanity. that stupid speech did not belong in the movie. sure Tolkien's books have those underlying themes of solidariy and botherhood but they are never drawn out into big long monologues. it makes me sick. and fairimer what were they thinking. the scene where frodo and him talk about the ring is one of my favorites, why did they cut it out??
and lastly why do they have fairimer fall to the ring? that is an important part about the books... boromir falls to the temptation of the ring but his brother will resist it. the point is supposed to be that the blood of numenor isn't all spent. some of it still flows in the steward of
gondor's veins. the rulers of gondor have all fallen to the ring expect for farimer. he is the one person who could take the ring but doesn't. this is important... it shows the time for the destruction of sauron is near. and it gives hope that when the elves leave these shores there will still be men of worth in middle earth. none of this is addressed in the movie. there are other things too that make the two towers, for me, a bad movie. sad, i thought after the fellowship of the ring that this would actally work out...i was wrong. fotr was really good; it deviated from the book some but it was forgiveable, the two towers was just disappointing.
while you make some valid points, they are refuted in the movie anyway:
1) Faramir DOESN'T fall to the ring. In the final sequence with him, he denies the ring. He lets Frodo and Sam go. That's what is different about him and Boromir.
2) the trees being slow is understandable, Treebeard is the oldest living thing in Middle Earth.

Yeah I agree. I'm not really an Eminem fan either. The movie wasn't bad, but it wasn't an award worthy on either.
The song was great though. I love his song.

I was looking at the official Hulk magazine yesterday when I went to the store.I was looking at the stills of The Hulk and they look really good. But I swear he looks like a big green Jack Black.
But seriously, the latest trailer I've seen and speacial I seen on MTV. The Hulk is really not looking so cartoony anymore. He really looks good. Can I tell he is all CGI? Yes, I can, but he looks better than he did months ago.
I guess we are going to introduce a new kind of rating system on this thread. Javen, QGW and myself will have our own thumbs up rating, which is our say on films.

The last movie I seen was Matrix:Reloaded.
So, I give it a Thumbs up.The story was alittle slow at times. But it left me wanting to see Revolutions badly.
Same here Reloaded gets a big thumbs up. Revolutions will kick @$$
I just want Lucas to see the Burly Brawl, and then say: Gee we should have Anakin fight the Jedi like that. One Sith vs. 100 Jedi!

If you want a realistic Hulk straight from the comics, the way to go is CG i think. It makes sense. He's 15 feet tall in the comics, you can;t find a guy like that. Animatronics would be too fake.
however, if you feel you shouldn't see it than don;t. I liked it, but other didn;t.

I think The Hulk was very good. Nick Nolte was fabulous in it. It really wasn't a movie targeting the younger audience but the action scenes were ****ing awesome. I don't think there is any other way to describe them. But Ang Lee is really proving he a damn good director, one of the best out there right now.

Reloaded was really nothing but fight after fight after fight, Hulk had plot and some really good acting performances at it's heart, Reloaded was almost entirely void of that, there was nothing really new and different about Reloaded at all, not to mention the Matrix has possibly the worst lead actor of all time, IMHO, that's why Hulk was the better movie, it was fresh and new, it was something different.

yes I do. Top Ten of All time:
1) Pulp Fiction (take note all you PT fans, this is real writing)
2) Se7en
3) LotR saga
4) Heat
5) SW OT saga
6) Schindler's List
7) The Untouchables
8) The Matrix
9) American Beauty
10) Saving Private Ryan
yes I know they are all newer films, but the 90's is my generation, and these are the best of those.

You bash a movie that you made a message board about?
A) Reloaded has too much plot I thought, it got confusing but i guess that's cause it hasn't been finished
B) The Fight scenes were alot more realistic than Hulks
C) I think Keanu isn't a great actor but he isn't the worst. That is Pauly shore.
D) Forget for a second that Hulk had only 5 real performances, but that Matrix had about 4 times that many. not to mention the french dude (whose names I wont try to say) was such a brilliant performance, and Hugo Weaving establishes one of cinemas best continuous villians.
Hulk was I good I agree, but the plot was not that complex. It was different from other comic books, but they decided to go with the father and son fighting which was cool, but not anything special or necessary.

I didn't bash the movie, I said the Hulk was better, because it was.
I loved Reloaded great action film, but not a really great film.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>A) Reloaded has too much plot I thought, it got confusing but i guess that's cause it hasn't been finished
I think the confusion here is that you thought it had plot, it didn't have much of that at all, IMHO. Not a very complex one anyway, it had a bunch of pointless fight scenes, and the other half of the film was jammed packed full of rescuing the key-maker, and the key maker giving Neo a key, and then a scene with Neo and the architect that just made your head hurt, only to then have the dream thing explained when Neo flies to save Trinity! Whoa!
Not much plot indeed.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>B) The Fight scenes were alot more realistic than Hulks
That's just silly, seriously, please tell me you're joking, there's nothing at all realistic about the fight scenes in the Matrix they completely defy the laws of physics, while Hulk remains true to Earth's natural laws. (there's no scientific law that says a geek can't turn into a huge green muscle)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>C) I think Keanu isn't a great actor but he isn't the worst. That is Pauly shore.
Well the Hulk only centered on 5 characters, Reloaded was full of a bunch of tiny parts that added almost nothing to the movie. (such as Niobe, Ghost, Persephone, Seraph)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Hulk was I good I agree, but the plot was not that complex.
Uhm TK-Bond? All the extra stuff about Niobe, Ghost, Persephone, and Seraph can be found in the game "Enter the Matrix," which actually adds to the story. It fills in the little holes, if you will.
Good God I can't wait til November. I have faith in the Watchoski Bros. creative genious. They've got a well thought out plot and only they know where they're going with it. Look at it. It's the same as the original SW trilogy. Check this out;
1) SW; ANH - Ending clincher. Could have quit right there and it would've been a stand-alone film.
The Matrix - Same thing. No cliffhangar. That could have been it, right there.
2) SW; ESB - Or hero finds out his Daddy was a bad, bad man.
The Matrix - Neo Finds out .... well, I'm not gonna spoil it. But if you've seen it you should be able to see the reference.
3) Now think back. If you'd seen SW ANH and SW ESB but NOT RTJ, wouldn't you have been saying the SAME exact thing? The Endings are the same!

Yes I know that, however, it doesn't fill "all the holes", it doesn't do much explaining for Persephone of Seraph, except to show one of them likes to kiss--everyone and the other likes has to fight everyone, and that was stupid for them to make you need the video game in order to understand the movie.

Well that covers about 30% of the film, you conviently leave out all the stuff about repressed memories, young Bruce witnessing his father murder his mother, that burried fear and anger later feeding the monster inside of him, you leave out the relationship between him and Betty, a very important part of the story, you leave out the very realistic science in the movie, the people trying to exploit the Hulk so they can use him to make $$$...
The emotional baggage that Bruce carries around is what makes this film more complex, him trying to figure out what happened to him all those years ago at Desert Base, those sorta concepts are very foreign to comic book films, you don't normally find such good performances and such emotion in that sorta movie.

so? comedy is harder than drama Bond. I know, I've tried it. Comedy is the hardest form of entertaining.
And what does that ahve to do with what I said about Pauly Shore? He made some pretty funny movies.
Keanu Reeves is taken as a serious actor and he sucks, period, he can't act, you should see him in interviews and at premieres (if you havn't yet), he's an absolute bore.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Well that covers about 30% of the film, you conviently leave out all the stuff about repressed memories, young Bruce witnessing his father murder his mother, that burried fear and anger later feeding the monster inside of him, you leave out the relationship between him and Betty, a very important part of the story, you leave out the very realistic science in the movie, the people trying to exploit the Hulk so they can use him to make $$$...
supressed memories go along with the "screwy" part of what i said.
the relationship feeds into why it calms him down.
the realistic science? oh come on, it's contrived and doesn't work. If you injected yourself with genes like that, they don't spread, it would probably kill you. and radiation would kill people, and genes that make you invincible are crazy. To to mention the explosion that occurs that does no damage, to the town.

Dude, you can't be serious? Pauly Shore is the worst actor in history, or at least in the 90's.

The Matrix and Speed are some examples that Keanu can do some of the right stuff. He does choose some bad stuff, but he has some talent. Comedy and action are his thing. He's also one of the highest paid actors of all time.

I didn't say it was actual real science, but it is made very realistic, very believable to the audience, Ang Lee's wife contributed greatly to this film in that department, she's a world reknown molecular biologist.
No one injected theirself with some special gene, nothing "spreaded" as you put it.
And not to leave this out: it's a frickin' movie!
For this sorta movie the science was very well explained and seemed very realistic, they actually took the time to explain things, unlike Spiderman, genetically enhanced super-spider bites Peter Parker and miraculously turns him into Spiderman! Or Daredevil, stupid kid gets blinded by some kinda acid and goes blind and somehow his other sense become more powerful! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif
They delved in deep into real science and into making there sudo-science seem real, made the film very interesting.

Again, he never tried to be a serious actor, doesn't take much acting talent to amek zany comdies like Encino Man and Jury Duty, and In the Army now.

Umm, right stuff? Are you trying to say those are examples that he can act? Those were very dry and boring performances, good movies, no doubt, but it wasn't because of him.

Gee, Ahhnuld was THE highest paid actor of all time when he signed on for T3 (30 million) and look at the credit you give him... :whatsthat:

<span style="font-size:8pt;line-height:100%"><span style="color:purple">Lets not say things we cant take back, remember Britney Spears acting, like a virigin. Pauly Shore was may more convincing then that.</span></span>

Spiderman originally was a radioactive spider, then they said a genetic spider, whatever the reason it's still stupid because all comic book creations like this are. Hulk deals more with this guy injects himself, then he conceives a kid who gets the genes. He didn't inject it you know where, it spread all over him. It's in all his cells now, and Bruce's. Bruce just reacts differently because he it is completely natural to him, while David is unnatural.

He injected himself with something, and the effect was passed on to his son, it didn't do anything to him, David later on injected himself with Bruce's dna and turned himself into a monster.
