I've just come from one of the few remaining cinemas still playing ATOC in Brisbane. *For the 50 or so fans, it was to be the final screening at the Eldarado. *Only 1 theatre remains, and they're pulling it next weekend. *style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif

After this week it's a 1100km journey to see ATOC :(
About 12hrs by car, 10 if you floor it. Or it's a $200 plane ticket.
But if I'm going to that, why not spend $400 on a return flight to LA and see it in digital :D :D :D

Maybe they'll re-release for a couple of weeks. That's what they did for TPM.

AOTC had a hell of a lot of stiff competition this summer. When TPM came out it was still playing (in only a few theatres but still playing) into the middle of September 99. This sucks. I saw TPM roughly 26 or 27 times in theatres, and I've only seen AOTC 10 times, or maybe only 9 I wasn't keeping track this time around. And I liked AOTC much more than I liked TPM so not seeing it again till November is saddening.

This will prove to be little compensation, but it won't take as long as the TPM DVD did! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

I love Star Wars, but I wouldn't spend that amount of money to see a movie that I have already seen several times. BUT, if you just so happen to be going to L.A. anyway, why not go see AOTC in digital?

C'mon now....you should know not to trust unofficial sources. November 26 just seems too soon. I think we should just wait for official notification from starwars.com.

Actually, I heard Nov way before ATOC was release. It was mentioned in context with the Lord of the Rings trilogy and their schedule dvd releases. When you think about it, it wouldn't take too long to release the dvd, all the doco stuff would have to be already done.

On paying $400 to see ATOC - I contemplated that before it came out JUST to see it in digital. There's no digital theatres in Aust. at all :( That's the one thing I noticed in my last viewing - there was chunks of colour and detail missing from the print, not just blurry, but as though it was physically cut out.

Hey guys, AOTC just opened in China a week or 2 ago, so I'm hoppin a plane to beijing, buying a ticket for every showing and not leaving the theatre for at least 24 hours.

I found this when I was digging through old threads (using Tovor's suggestion of changing the sort order to ascending from the beginning). I thought it would be interesting to know if AOTC is still playing anywhere in theaters. It's still at the $2 theater here in Fort Collins. Kind of a rotten copy, but hey, you get what you pay for.

So, is ATOC still playing anywhere else?

Also, I'd like to know...
Rogue - did you really hop on a plane to China to see ATOC? style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

It aint playing anywhere around here.

But I still wont have to wait until Nov. 26th to see it, cause it will be on IMAX Nov. 12th. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Uhh... AOTC is on IMAX Nov 1. The DVD/VHS release is Nov. 12. The previous info is a little out dated.

ATOC has come back on the big screen!

Given the appalling selection of flicks out at the moment, two cinemas are showing atoc again! Plus the Brisbane Film Festival is showing an outdoor screening in the Botanical Gardens. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/exclamation.gif

I now have something to do until Nov. 26.

AOTC is still playing in Manhattan, NYC. It is at the Angelica Film Center--an independant films theater. Cool, isn't it!

Anyway, I'll see it at IMAX, then on DVD, and maybe IMAX again.

Last Friday was a sad, sad day in Ft Collins. AOTC left the $$ theater. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cry.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/butbut.gif :tears: Oh well, it might be back. That theater is known to bring back movies after they've gotten rid of them. *Luvinnacrosses fingers. Besides, there's just a couple more weeks to the IMAX release, and a couple weeks after that to the DVD.
