Oh... discussion/feedback threads aren't usually done? They are usually seen as duplication? Since Berus originally started an RPG with a discussion, I always thought they were done that way around here. I prefer it myself because mixing feedback/discussion with the story interrupts the flow of the story. Some of us like the finished product to be like a book/short story without commentary interrupting it all the way through. Depends on the type of RPG I realize.

They aren't usually done, but we've had one up for Way of Destruction (I think that's the name without looking) for a while now, so if we're allowing it for them, it should be okay for everyone else. Fairness and all. :)

how quickly does a day progress in an rpg????? is this optional can we choose when we sleep and stuff coz sometimes one day goes on foreva.

BUt ummm yes i'm not Daala in this rpg as your well aware........ most places unless i say otherwise i am...it just easier not to put in an Imperial Admiral into the jedi picture and as there aren't that many rpg's up welll.

Clara and others i was wanting to pull perhaps my chararcter and play with her a another rpg later on after she develops alil and if i dont find her annoying.

Mmmmm..., good ice cream. Anyways, I like this thread, it's a good idea! I was thinking maybe we could set up a little scenario like one of the trainess plays a prank on another or something. Or maybe a little bit of character conflict to make things interesting. Vyndim's character looks like a good candidate for both! My and Catwomen's trainees are progressing pretty well in the flirting thing. Which brings to mind a question for Catwomen.

Do you have any specific ideas for our characters? Any sort of direction? Shoot me a PM, I'm reallllllyy excited to do some writing!

oops, sorry, I get really excited. Creative writing is my hobby! I love to make things up in my head. My mythology teacher keeps trying to get me to write stuff for the contests that our school has. But really, I'm just throwing out suggestions, this is definately your thread, you can veto my stuff, with good reason of course. (i.e. major conflict of story, or innapropriatness or it just doesn't fit with your ideas of the RPG.)

ok so here's the deal...whats the point of everyone coming to an acedemy when we are all really strong in the force. Crys isn't she can't do much but everyone else has a lightsaber, can do force bubles and blow things up. OK so little things like that energy deal was cute, but can we stay a little realistic PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEE ...... Nobody is stronger then Clara. She posses the power to destroy planets with a single thought. Destruction is her gift. Mind control her weakness. She is the strongest in the galaxy.

If your talking about me I'm sorry but my character was created to be more advanced in the ways of the force she has trained far longer than the rest of the students and is not moving forward in her training to much. She allready had a master before any of the other students did.

She is indeed strong in the force but no where near Clara's level.

I made up Jeianni's force powers all by myself (I'm so proud.) . Her force powers are very untrained. They were thrust upon her in a manner soon to be divulged in my posts. Her main powers are

a) she glows, clean and simple. For some reason or another her body and mind naturally draw light to her, and she has very little control over it except for the little trick with the fire. It expands when she's angry, and brightens when she's happy, dimming when she's sad. She can't really do anything about it and that's why she's at the academy. It's sort of the same thing Galadriel from LOTR has goin' on, a constant glow.

b) She has as yet unforseen molecular manipulation abilities that will pop up in the future of this RPG, to be trained by Clara into a formidable force. (Clara's gotta have something to do.) Think of Storm from X-men and you'll get similar results.

c) also as yet unforseen, limited telekenesis. Kinda like Corran, little rocks are just about it.

I'm planning on revealing these last two (b&c) in the future of this RPG to insert a few surises and discoveries. Kinda like a 30 mph pitch in the World Series, shake things up a bit. I might inject a few other things, but that'll come later and I don't want to give away the surprise. And anyways, I'm planning on having Jeianni's powers increase gradually, as realism dictates.

Daala, you have to rember some of us have had previous training but stopped for other pursuits or transfered to Dathomir, which since it is a new establishment necesitates them starting from the begining again but still retaining all their previous knowledge.

To clarify Khory's situation too...

Khory's energy absorption is the only gift he really uses yet... he discovered it by accident when he was very young. He also knows he has quick reflexes. Beyond that, the only "training" he's had is from the Jedi who discovered him working in a spaceport hangar as a mechanic for extra money. Remember, Khory can't figure out how to open his holocron. And he doesn't know how to build or use a lightsaber either.

Kyp suggested Khory was gifted and ahead of the others, but mainly Kyp sees him as having great potential, and Kyp's ego gets further fed if he gets to train some of the students himself. He's telling Khory he's ahead to manipulate him some.. talk him up so he'll agree to special training sessions.

So Starra, what you're saying is that you're already more advanced then most of the other students, but that you are going to develop your powers even more. That doesn't leave you a lot of room for improvement, unless you plan on being more powerful than Kyp or Clara, which once again, isn't being realisitic. How are you going to do it?


And Jackie, One more thing! Could we all try to use punctuation and capital letters in our posts? They are being read by other people, and personally, I'm having a very hard time trying to read some of them. Think of the people for who English is their second language. They're probably having a problem too. Thank you!

I made Khory up for this one, though in my mind I gave him a past, because it helps me to develop them further if I give them a past in the beginning. I don't have all the details of that past worked out in my head, and I don't always make something in the past "haunt" them either, tho' my other two RPG characters on this site do have haunted pasts....lol. But Khory really doesn't. He's discovering his heritage as he goes along in the story.

I develop my character's underlying personality, but that doesn't mean they can't evolve in the story. In fact, I prefer they do. I try not to plot that evolution ahead, but rather see what the other characters do and evolve mine based on potential reactions and choices they could make in response.

However, once I've written a great deal on a character (like a year in an RPG or something) I do become somewhat attached to them. This makes me want to have their future make sense as I write it, so I tend to lead them in certain directions at that point.

Not sure if that's how other writers do these, but maybe knowing that helps. If anyone wants to email or PM me about something developing in the story regarding Khory, feel free to do so. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif </span>

I'm doing things pretty much the same way as you Cat.

I like to figure out what I'm doing my character before hand that way I know where he/she's doing. Then as the story progresses, I'll make changes. So nothing's set, but I have at least an idea. That way there are surprises for me and for the readers, and so that the character's unpredictable. I'd also like privates messages if anyone wants to clue me in on interactions with Jeianni.

I'm really sorry I forgot about the thread, and thanks to Jeianni for the PM. I read up and posted a quick one just to establish that I'm not dead. Yesterday I thought about it and I found some interesting ways for Shar to grow, as she is very new to the Force and earlier wasn't even sure she HAD Force powers. Now things are becoming clearer to her as the days go by. She will begin to discover new powers, mainly to do with plants since she has spent much her life working with them. Right now she has limited connection with people she's close to and people who are sending out unusually strong emotions (like great fear).

I just had an idea, I thought it'd be a good idea if we created some character profiles for our characters. It really irritates me when I go to write something about my character interacting with the other character, and I don't know what the other characters look like. Here's mine.

Time frame I think post ROTJ is the best, depends really if you all want to be jedi's or smuggler's or whatever. I must admit it would be nice not to have the force once and still be successful.

I don't have writer's block.. I was just waiting my turn. What I want to do next involves the lesson to be over - Khory takes Jeanni back to his room... I chatted with Vyndim a little to see what he might do with Trias since I keep mentioning him briefly in my posts.

So whenever we're ready for closure of the levitation lesson... I'll be ready.

If we need to get some different action for Crys and whoever and need more than just Force lessons... we could have something happen there, like some invaders threatening or some need the galaxy has for Jedi IMMEDIATELY that can't wait for training to be over... a few students could be called to duty early, something like that. Just throwing ideas out to spark ideas.

Who stole Khory's holocron is up for grabs. I have no particular person in mind at this point. Vyndim and I discussed it and decided it would be too obvious if Trias was the one, though Khory will blame him first of course (already has).

At some point I'd like him to find it again, but it can be later in the story if needed.

So if anyone wants to be the thief, go for it. Otherwise I'll have an NPC do it. If you need to discuss it with me further, just PM me. Otherwise, surprise me!

If anyone who wants to steal it also tries to use it, you may want to email or PM me about what information it contains. This one has specific historical information that you may need to know about to keep in line with the reason it was given to Khory in the first place.

General ancient Jedi force secrets would be in line, but for details or who the "gatekeeper" is, please ask.

I usually only so-so have a plan and when it comes to other ppl's characters, I prefer to let them decide how to react... more real that way. Any "planning" I do is always adjustable.

Just to let everyone know... I'm working on plotspinning a mission for us to take soon, if you all agree.

Here's my initial idea:
The academy receives a distress signal from a luxury freighter that fell under attack by an unknown assailant. Kyp and Clara organize a search and rescue team (us and a few extras) to check it out. A few life forms are still detected on the ship, but only a few...

What do you all think? I know planning too much ahead spoils the fun, but we can set something like this up and let it evolve as we post from there, letting first come first serve posters decide who the attackers were and what happens next (ie, does someone get kidnapped? Just throwing possibilities out to feed your heads.)

If anyone wants to start something like that, or another idea to keep some action going, feel free to go for it!</span>

LOL... one of my friends on another RPG (no, not you Clara) makes me wait 3 months before posting.. so yours was nothing. As it happened, he came back and posted yesterday, so had one on that story to conceive and write. I can always find stuff to keep busy (cleaning my house would be nice, but who wants to do that?)

Can somebody post about a luxury liner sending a distress call, like we talked about earlier? This can come in while Khory and Crys are swimming... Ummm..... I put in a referece to Trias and Khory both going on a mission, and how neither of them couldn't pilot the ship. I put that because I thought it would be cool for their skills to be needed somewhere else instead of flying. I was going to have Jeianni jump in and volunteer to fly even though Kyp thinks that she's a klutz. I kind of volunteered Crys in my post too. Soooooo, ummm, if anyone has any qualms or wants me to change this mission set up in my post, please, just let me know!! I'm always willing to negotiate and compromise!

Uhhh... I hate to be a wet blanket here, but I do have a slight problem with the post, JJ. To say Khory can't pilot a ship is like saying Yoda doesn't know how to use a lightsaber. I mean, everything I've posted about him describes how he wants to be a pilot (he ran away over it, for heaven's sake!) and Kyp is keeping his eye on him for his Dozen, etc. He does know how to fly now.. it's in his profile too.

It's prolly fair to say Trias can't pilot, and Khory can't do it ALONE on this mission, but to say he can't pilot... I just have a real problem with that. Sorry! I'm usually OK with whatever you all do with Khory, so long as he stays in character.

Any way you can modify that??? You could also have Kyp and Clara decide they don't WANT him to pilot because he and Trias are needed to scout the ship instead, and someone needs to stay behind with the ship. Whatever... I meant to say that his skills were seriously needed elsewhere, so he wouldn't be able to fly the craft. Maybe it could be that Khory can pilot and Jeianni can co-pilot, or vice versa.

Is slow a relative term for RPGs?? I don't know how quickly they normally move. Many of the ppl writing with me are college or high school students that get swamped now and then and take a several weeks off at a time. Since I'm out of school, my participation is relatively constant, unless I have to go out of town for work. I usually check here during my lunch hour and later at night when my kids are in bed.

You guys won't quit this one, will ya? I mean, unless we all decide this one is going nowhere at all. Since we're gearing up for a mission, I figured we'd at least give that a shot.

It all looks good to me! I like your post Cat! Everything fits perfect for me as far as I can see, no problems for me. I left the Spice of Freedom with a special long range communicator, just to spice things up. I like trouble, trouble is always good! Jeianni hasn't really gotten into trouble yet so that sounds like a pretty good idea.

I think it would be cool to have like a pirate group board the Crystal Star or something.

Clara and Kyp are in x-wings following the two ships. I'm thinking that Crys's ship is the scout ship and Jeianni's ship is the transport for the remaining lifeforms on the Crystal Star. A cat fight is good, let people see the dirty side of Jeianni, but a cat fight about what? Jeianni and Cry don't really have anything to fight over. I can also work a little insubordination into my next post too, something simple though, like breaking communications silence with the special comms or something.

The story sounds good Starra, but there are just a few discrepancies.

1) Jeianni is on a seperate transport, and Jerry is the only other person on board. Trias and Khory are on the scout ship with Ric, and Crys is piloting.

2) To go on a seperate mission at this point in the story would disrupt the sense of urgency with the Crystal Star . There's a rescue mission going on in the story and it wouldn't really be feasible to leave about ten people to their own devices when they're supposed to get rescued in a timely manner. Maybe you could plan the mission to Dantooine for on the way back from the rescue mission? I think it could make the storyline flow a little bit better. Otherwise, I think it's a great idea, a little stop off at a nice planet could be good for morale! (I can just feel a prank coming on.)

OK i'm terribbly confused with your post Starra.... YOur either on Crys's ship or Jeanni's. Your boht indicates that your on both and as there is no one but Jerry on Jeanni's ship you have to be on Crys's, Spice of Freedom. I have to agree with Jeanni thou you have to incoraprate Danntooine alittle later. Mayyebe the neckelss is what the pirates steal from the [u]Crystal Star[i] and this leads the group to Dantooine.

I'm sorry RAD , I didn't mean to confuse you. What I'm saying is is that there's no possible way you can have Starra talking to Jeianni, and then Ric and then Khory withing the space of one ship. Jeianni isn't on the same ship as Ric and Khory. Ric and Khory are on Crys's ship. If you want Starra to talk to Jeianni, Starra has to use the comm system after they emerge from hyperspace because only Crys has the codes for the special comm units.

Also, I didn't know that you were going to have this little sidetrip on the way back from the rescue mission. You didn't say so in the post, so I thought it was going to be before we got to the crystal star. If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to go back and clarify your post to make it easier to understand.

And I think that the little side trip would be a good idea on the way back. This story hasn't had much to do so far with Starra, and it would be good to get some background, and also give everyone some R&R. Of course Jerry and Jeianni will have to take the rescuees from Crystal Star back immediately, but everyone else could stop off.

The Crystal Star is a luxury liner Crys' family gave to her. It's been hit by someone or something, and the multitude of passengers are gone. Only a dozen or so survivors remain locked in an interior storage room. Trias, Khory, Ric and Starra are to go in first as a scout team, Crys, Jeianni and Jerry are to stay with their ships (though they may decide to disobey that order) and Clara and Kyp are flying backup in their fighters in case anyone storms the rescuers.

yeah, no death and carnage. I'm thinking of going back and revising my latest post and taking out the part where Jeianni freaks out and Clara calls for assistance. I was really tired when I wrote it and I think it happened at the right time. Maybe later in the rescue we can have 'something' pop up.

Jeianni can get maimed if you like, I don't mind. I was wondering about what, or who we are going to find on this ship. I was thinking it would be cool if there were refugees from some war torn planet. And then we could let the refugees off on Dantooine on the way back and Starra could do her thing. And then while we're resecuing these war torn refugees, we could get attacked by a rogue ship of their enemy clan or what not, looking for these said war torn refugees. Anyone get what I'm saying? Probably not, gotta try though..........

A way to get to Dantooine could be thats the next safe land place for the crew etc to landed then Starra can play her necklace thing.


HOw about we find refugee's on Dantoonie instead of a Luxury liner......and get attacked there....... just a thought

One problemo acording to my pre-determined history Dantooine is deserted. The colonists were wiped out on that part of the planet Starra is the only surviving person from that settlement but I supose there could be more settlements. Just far away from the settlement.

YOu can't blow up the ship witha vrius lets be a little realistic and plus its a classic ship.

Plus we are in the laundry maintainence shaft doubt there would be any pirates any where there. Remeber guys its a huge ship.

I agree with Daala!!!! The whole point of this rescue mission was to Rescue the people on Crystal. We can't just leave them. Plus i was thinking that the escape on Spice of Freedom shouldn't be that easy. I doubt that the Spice would be unguarded by the pirates.

Hi all, I invited Obi-Wan to come and check out the discussion thread so that he could here out our wishes for him to change a few things, so don't freak.


Plus, if the thread can't be fixed I have an awesome idea for Jerry to come to the rescue of the refugees, so worry not, all is not lost. And plus I'm leaving Jerry open for character development to everyone because Jerry hasn't been here for awhile and I don't want to monpolize his character.

Okay, scratch that, there's no way to salvage that. List of discrepencies

1. The Crystal Star can NOT blow up!

2. There is noooooooo way Any of the jedi would let all the people on the Star get blown up.

3. There's not a snowball's chance in Hades Crys would

A) leave her baby the Star in a crisis, and

B) There's no way Crys would let the Star blow up, she's it owner, she'd know all of the codes. Just wouldn't happen.

4. There's no planet anywhere near the Crystal.


If Obi-Wan at least fixes all that in his posts, as well as the others who posted in accordance, we should be doing okay, because otherwise the whole storyline is gonna get messed up.
