I cannot wait for this game!!! I heard about it earlier from a friend who has a friend.... who is connected to making this game. It sounds and looks like a cross between Halo and A.V.P. . The trailer looks awesome! Waiting for summer 2004... Jedi Academy and Rebel Strike will have to tie me over until then,...Zelda, Jedi Outcast, Indy,TTT, and Wolfenstein will have to tie me over until Jedi Academy... comes out. Sucks for those of us with the GameCube (man, GC is getting screwed recently; the only games we've gotten are JKII, BH, TCW, and RSII and the upcoming RSIII). I'm missing out on KOTOR, RC, Obi-Wan, Starfighter, Jedi Starfighter... grrr.

Well, SF and JS were made for PS2 because RS was made for the Nintendo systems, so I guess that balances things out (even though both of those games have better storylines than RSII had, and RSIII will likely have). I'd still like to see more GC stuff released soon.

This looks like the game I wanted The Clone Wars to be. After hearing this game and KOTOR would only be on Xbox and PC, I finally broke down and bought an Xbox. Does anyone know if this game will utilize a headset and voice commands like SOCOM?

I'm not the biggest Xbox fan, but there are advantages.No minimum system requirements!

Try "Way Better Graphics". I mean, that trailer for the game is off-the-hook awesome, and the creatures and people in it look more realistic than ANY other cut scene movie for any other console that I've played on (including other X-Box games).

<span style="color:green">Yeah, with a new computer most new games will have better graphics than X-Box. It has a GeForce 4 in it, I think, and the new Geforce FX and Radeon graphics cards are far superior.

Plus, using keyboard and mouse is sooo much better than a control pad for games like this. (Fighting and racing games on the other hand, get owned by control pads) I got Splinter Cell for PC and the controls are much easier to use than the PS2 version I rented.</span>

That's cause they haven't released any info or new shots. This isn't usually the sign of a good game. It's been in development for a while now and they've shown nothing to the media. Oh dear.

i played the game and it was pretty cool, but they could have improved on some of the things, like the multiplayer they could have made it co-op and in the gameplay they missed out on some of the weapons that other SW games had put in, but overall its a good game with good graphics and good controls and everything like that.

And from what I've heard it's supposed to be alot like Halo, gameplay/graphics wise. It's based off the Unreal engine, I never played Unreal though, but if Unreal is anything like Halo, than this will be as well.

Mark my words - this game will suck. Sorry to be so cynical but the simple truth is LucasArts is in turmoil at the moment, has an incredibly incompitant director and will release anything with the Star Wars logo on it because they know its a cashcow. Just look at Battlefront - no respecting studio would release that apalling trash. Lucky Pandemic lost all respect with the dismal Clone Wars in the industry then...

In fact - I can't remember the last game LucasArts released that could be considered a classic. And don't say KOTOR - that was sourced out to the greatest RPG studio in the world bar none. And what do LucasArts do? Give the license to another company because Bioware wanted more percentage on the sequel. LucasArts are a complete disgrace and it's a shame - they have some real talented people working for them but won't give them the chance.

I for one won't be buying any of these games. Hell, I won't even waste my time copying them, it'd be a waste of a 20p CD.

There's nothing about the actual game at all, just a list of bad guys who have the same traits we've seen in countless other Star Wars games. Battle Droids attack in numbers. Wow. Sorry guys but this is going up against some real big competition - Id have a totally new unnamed project coming out around that time, and then there's Quake 4 and Halo 2. Seems another case of LucasArts selling a game based soley on the SW franchise. Also bear in mind - when this comes out the engine is gonna be dated.

I don't mean to be cynical but the simple truth is that LucasArts haven't made a worthy game since MI3 and X-Wing Alliance. And that's cause they pay their staff peanuts - they lost all the talent they had a while ago.

I forgot about KOTOR being in that list of good titles. All of the PT games have sucked big time and RS 2+3 were good but certainly aren't classics. I don't just mean in-house stuff - neither Clone Wars or Bounty Hunter were in-house and they were apalling, particularly Bounty Hunter. Secret Weapons Over Normandy was good but largely overlooked but you wouldn't expect anything less from the man that brought us the X-Wing trilogy.

What you seem to be forgetting is that LucasArts was the best developer in the early and mid 90's - they really could do no wrong. But then something happend - they lost the designer of Jedi Knight, the designer of Monkey Island and many of the creative forces like Micheal Land and Clint Bakajizan (sp?) that helped create them great.

On an interesting note TFN have some history of SW games article that appears to have been written by a monkey. As mixnmojo.com (http://www.mixnmojo.com) have pointed out:

"There's a new editorial on TheForce.net about the history and impact of Star Wars games, and it seems to be wrong. The writer of the article talks about "early" Star Wars games failing to be "system sellers." Unfortunately, he's not talking about Rebel Assault, or TIE Fighter (which were at least "CD-ROM drive sellers"), and he's not even talking about Super Star Wars for the SNES. His definition of "early Star Wars game" is in fact Episode I Racer for the PlayStation 1.

For the most part I would agree, but Bounty Hunter was worth the rental at least, and the Starfighter games were really quite good (especially the first) and very popular.

This game actually looks pretty good. Just by looking at some of the screenshots and reading the articles, it reminds me a little of Half-Life, and that ain't a bad thing. The preview featured in KOTOR is quite nice, too.

You don't want to overclock a laptop since there's no ventilation. They get hot enough as it is.

It was alright. I wasn't overly impressed by it. Maybe I'll rent the full version at Blockbuster once it comes out. Right now the demo didn't convince me it was worth $50.

One thing that bothered me is that the droids take way too much damage in the game. Yet in the movies they go down easy. For example in a couple of parts you go up against a Super Battle Droid. Your whole team fires at him for a while and it takes him forever to go down.

maybe it's just the way i play, but i can usually take down an enemy in at the most 15 shots

i just run up to them and shoot

if you shoot from a a distance it takes a lot more to kill them, and besides, when you're closer you can stab them!

I can't wait to get the game, though I'm puzzled that my Circuit City ad states the game will be "In Stores Friday" while most other places, including LucasArts, states it'll be out on March 1st. I guess I'll stop by CC on Tuesday and find out.

The single player campaign is great...about to fight Grievous on Kashyyyk now and I'm loving it.

The multiplayer is kind os weak IMO. I'm just so spoiled by Halo 2 that I hoped it would play similar but it's more like Unreal. Just moves to fast and chaotic for my tatses...

Well right now I am towards the end of the game. It seems to be your pretty average console FPS. I don't think it is something I'd recommend unless that person is a big SW fan. It just doesn't compare to some of the new console FPS.

Oh well I will be writing a full review of it probably Sunday.

Well i brought my copy the other day and i installed it fine, but i have a problem with it.
When i press Start Game on the auto load screen i get a message saying i haven't got Pixel Shader 1.1. Then when i press New Game in the game menu, it begins to load then it returns to the window screen with a message saying there has been a error.

Can anyone help me?

I noticed that he was getting attacked by a Geonosian, so I shot the bugger. Then the commander said that the guy I'm supposed to assassinate was escaping, so I went up there with the sniper to help. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif That's my story, anyways.

to kill the guy in the ship you need to have your team mate operate the turret unless the pc version is different in some way to the xbox version.
