I don't know if being a Fett fan isn't popular. I never cared if it was or not. I've always loved Fett.

Boba Fett rocks! Even though I am a big Rebellion fan, I still love the Empire. Boba Fett's character is the best, I love his helmet. Too bad he had to die in the sarlac pit. :sad: That saddens me.

Actually, he didn't die. He had an explosives device and used it to blow the Sarlaac's stomach out. When he was found, he was nearly dead. All his his skin was completely gone, burned off by the acids in the Sarlaac's stomach, I presume. This is of course is only discussed in a few 'Expanded Universe' novels, but it makes an awful lot of sense. Boba Fett most likely wouldn't give up even under the toughest conditions.

Well by baring the EU, like GL does so much, means that our dear bucket head Boba Fett did end up as Sarlac munch. But I suppose its not any worse than his older self Jango. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Yeah, I am just going by the movies. That wasn't a very good death for Fett. ::sigh:: It should have been better. Oh well ???

That's the reason I wasn't really that surprised by Jango's quick death...I KNOW from the bitter experience of the Fett's getting eaten by the Sarlacc that Lucas can't deal very well with getting rid of strong, cool villains. They DO tend to get killed in cheesy ways.

That's very true Luthien. At least we got the opportunity to see him kick a little arse before then, however!

As to the point of there not seeming to be many Fett fans, well, I think a lot of people before AOTC, saw only Boba Fett, and thought,"Why should I care about this guy? He's only got about 10 minutes of screen time, very few lines and has a cheesy, throwaway death. Who cares?" That's unfortunate.

I know. That's part of the reason I say what I do about Lucas not being very good at strong villains. He never saw the potential in Fett, likely. Which is a shame. Now, part of me is a bit sad that some of the mystery that is Fett has been destroyed. Another part of me thinks that this has only opened up new questions. A third part is cheering that Fett isn't Jaster Meerel. (I hate Meerel so badly I made him the bad guy in one of my fanfics, just so I could kill him in excruciating ways)

yeah i was glad that fett wasn't jaster mereel either, i didn't hate him but i'm still glad that boba fett is boba fett.
anyway jaster mereel was described as being quite quite ugly and..well i'm sorry but i thought that tem morrison played a rather tasty jango fett..grrrrrr!

Well, I wouldn't feel bad for Fett... Maybe George Lucas didn't see the potential in a character like Boba Fett, but the people of the EU sure did. He had a three party trilogy written about him.(read all three) I'm sure there were pleanty more, as I don't read too much EU and I'm not a Fett fan myself. He was depicted as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy and was a host for tons of surprises. I'm sure something about him having his emotions removed helped him be a better bounty hunter. So see, if Lucas didn't use him, the EU apperently loved him.

Yes, I have read quite a few EU stories about Fett. I think he got a better treatment in the EU.

flo, I KNOW, I think Temuera Morrison played a really tasty Jango Fett. If that is what Boba is going to look like when he grows up... *drool*

Yes, Jaster was ugly, stupid and crude, in my opinion.

the only EU books i own are the ones with Boba in them, i really enjoyed the bountyhunter wars trilogy. Three whole books about fett....*sigh* style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/inlove.gif
