As some may know, Rollafett and the little lady closed on their new house Friday, and moved in bit by bit over the weekend and mainly on Monday, yesterday. Moving out of the shoebox into their own house is a dream of theirs for as long as I've known them, which has been quite a few years. So to welcome them to their new home, I propose we thrown them a housewarming party. Feel free to stop by and bring them a gift, and remind them of why Galactic Senators are such good neighbors.

As a time honored tradition, I bring the new homeowners a housewarming basket filled with goodies.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/HousewarmingBasket.jpg

And as a special treat for Mrs. Rollafett, to really make her feel at home with artifacts of her ancestors, here is a genuine 19th century Latvian hearth, for romantic nights with Mr. Rolla in front of a roaring fire.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/Housewarming-Hearth.jpg

We all know how fond of showing himself off in the bathtub, Rolla is. So here is a special custom made bathtub for Rolla and his rubber ducky escapades.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/BathtubHoesch-water-lounge.jpg

And since he is so fond of the bathtub, here is a special bath...er, couch, for the living room.

But wait, there's more!

Now that he has a driveway to park his ride, he needs this, the tubmobile!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/BathtubTwinmobile.jpg

To satisfy his musical love, and for those times when he enjoys reminiscing about his younger years in service in our grand fleet...

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/In_the_navy.jpg

And finally, for those rare nights at home when he spends time posting in the Senate, I have for him the perfect computer desk!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b324/Tovor/New%20Stuff/Carbonite_desk.jpg

Here's to you, buddy! May your days and nights under your new roof be filled with good times and much love for the both of you (and the future little Rollas that come along).

First off, cool thread, Tov.

Second, I must have that computer desk!

Third, Blizz, now that is a nice tub!

Ok, so yes, Mrs. Rollafett and I have moved into our first home, and we love it! It's big. 4 bedrooms; 2 1/2 bathrooms; 2 car garage; living room; dining room; famile room; storage attic; wood burning fireplace; granite countertops in kitchen; new stainless steel appliances; the works!
I took some pictures in the early moving in stage, so to get a sense of a "before" time period. Here they are:
Front exterior, followed by family room, and dining room.

Damn, that looks like a beautiful house! Maybe I should move to somewhere where you can actually buy some house for your money!

More pics!
2 pics of the kitchen, follwed by the eat-in nook, with the skylights overhead!

RollaFett
08-29-2008, 03:50 PM
^^ Thanks JMH! I don't what you can buy acroos the pond, and how much it costs, but we feel as though we definately got our money's worth.

More pics!
Living room, with wood burning fireplace, plus a couple of angles of the extremely cool windows in the room! Then, we head upstairs!

08-29-2008, 03:53 PM
You could not buy a house like that in even a run down area for less than £300,000 / $600,000! In the suburbs of London you'd be looking at half a million minimum!

RollaFett
08-29-2008, 03:56 PM
More pics!
Master bedroom with catherdral ceiling, master bathroom with duel sinks, shower, and of course where you'll seeing me pose from eventually...the whirlpool tub!

RollaFett
08-29-2008, 03:59 PM
^^ Yeah, I see. Without getting into specifics, ours definately didn't come anywhere close to $600,000. But if we wanted to live in the suburbs of a big American city, it would've been expensive as hell. We moved from an ocean town (directly south of Atlantic City, NJ) to about 7 miles inland and the price drop was stunning. No way we would've been able to afford to buy where we were.

Jedi Master Harrison

Either way mate that looks stunning and plenty of space! I hope you and Mrs Rolla will be very happy there!

RollaFett

More pics! But much less exciting, I'm afraid.

Bedroom #2, which will be our office/hobby/craft room.
Bedroom #3, which will be our guest room, with queen size bed.
Bedroom #3, which will be our game room of sorts. Nintendo Wii, and presumably most of my SW stuff will be here.

RollaFett
08-29-2008, 04:05 PM
More pics! The last batch...for now.

Rear exterior shots. We have a year old shed, and a bunh of wood for the fireplace, as well as our very own Christmas tree!

Either way mate that looks stunning and plenty of space! I hope you and Mrs Rolla will be very happy there! Thanks, buddy. I'm sure we will, but right now, we're a bit overwhelmed just trying to unpack and furnish the place. There is soooooooo much to do. Balls.

RollaFett
08-29-2008, 04:14 PM
Okay, so you have seen the "before" pics. Over the weekend, I will try to take some pics of the mayhem that has ensued since. Y'know, crap everywhere in boxes and bags? Some unpacked, some not. I will attempt to keep this thread updated with our move in as long as I can, or as long as there appears to be interest in the thread. :P

The house is incredible. I am really impressed, with every shot you've shown. I love the 3 story high entranceway, and the kitchen, and the backyard...in fact, everything, but those 3 jumped out to me first. And how spacious the living room is.

Hey, want to see the house that Mrs. Rollafett and I just bought? Well, thanks to Tovor, you can! (http://www.galacticsenate.com/showthread.php?t=17726)

I love how you chose designer trash bags for the move, that match the walls. :PHmmm...their is no 3 story entranceway. If you're referring to the really high windows, well that's in the back of the house with that spacious living room.
Make fun about the hefty bags if you must, but I tell you, they were a stroke of genius. Of course, that stroke of genius is fully credited to Mrs. Rollafett. There is simply no way we would've come up with enough boxes for everything. Besides, they were mostly used for clothes and shoes, so they wroked perfectly for that. :P

Oh, I wasn't poking fun at the garbage bags. I was commenting on how you chose bags with blue pullstrings that happened to match the walls.
But congratulations on making a post with an epic number of typos. :ok:

Yes, I was referring to the high windows. From the one angle it did look like an entranceway, though looking at it again, what doorway has 2 doorways and a fireplace between them? Ah, but wait, living room or not, is has 2 doors to the outside, for crying out loud, so an entranceway it is after all.

I rest my case.

LOL! More likely the next occupant will be a dog, which of course, will be named Chewie.

My next door neighbour's dog is called Chewie. And I checked - he is named after Chewbacca! So if a pair of over 50 year olds in Kirkliston, Scotland have done it, then there's no excuse for a SW fan not to. :)

Edit:

Bugger! No gift. Am I red faced. Will do.

Update!

We have painted a couple of rooms! The hideous electric blue room that will become a den/lounge/game room is now in the relaxing colors of "crocodile tears" and "bamboo".
Here's the before and after. The after doesn't include it being fully decorated yet, though:
