I love the fact that the Giant Chicken is playing Boba Fett

Freakin' Sweet!

Cleavland should play a dual role and be Lando, too.

But who the hell is going to play Yoda?

I'll take a look at it when I can, but the other one, Blue Harvest or whatever it was they called it, was a really big disappointment, just not fun (basicly goes for the series over-all with the exception of Brian and Stewart).

I liked the first one. Not as funny as the Robot Chicken Special though. Any news on when the new one`s getting released?

You've done it again. There are three "something"s. Now, don't go posting and adding in four "something"s, there are three, and only three.

Am I correct in assuming they're letting the agents of evil behind Family Guy defile yet another chapter of the Holy Trilogy?

This...just really bewilders me.

That's one way of putting it.

Another would be to say that the agents of comedy behind Family Guy are going to make another funny and affectionate extended episode based on a film they all clearly love.

I dunno, I thought the first one was decent, but not great. Robot Chicken, on the other hand, was fantastic!

Yeah, but "agents of comedy" doesn't quite tie in with the "Something, Something, Something Darkside" title the way the Yoda reference ("if you choose the quick and easy path as Vader did, you will become an agent of evil") does.

As to the "funny and affectionate" characterization, well, tastes vary.:) But I'll take your word for it that their intentions were good.

Maybe it's lack of familiarity with the program, but I just didn't understand the point of it, and Pervert-Wan Kenobi was a bit much, in my opinion.

They definitely love Star Wars. They have LFL and the Beard's full permission - he was even interviewed on the DVD. The point of it is that their epsidoes are so full of SW gags that they figured they should just go and do an episode given that they keep coming up with SW ideas.

Yep, they skirt close to the edge with Herbert, but their defence is that he's incapable. My comedic tastes could be considered pretty weird but I am a Brit.

In fact, the only episode I ever saw was the SW one. The bits I've seen of other episodes never were interesting enough to rope me in for a full viewing. As far as the SW one goes, though, I too didn't care for the Pervert-Wan character.
I suppose if you're a big fan of the show, you'd probably like the SW show even more because you'd get what the characters are more about. Oh well. That said, I still thought it was decent enough, just not great.

I loved it and much preferred it to the Robot Chicken episode, which was good but a little scattershot for me.

It absolutely was scattershot because it didn't attempt to lampoon one particular film like FG did. Plus, to me anyway, the benefit of RC was how you didn't really didn't had to have watched the show previously to get some thigns like with FG.

Yeah, that's true. I am an almost fanatical FG fan and watch it all the time. In fact...getting shakes...Series 7 DVD...overdue...

(The first series was kind of split in two over here so it seems we're actually a season ahead when we're not).
