It has been reported *cough*TFN*cough* that the Australian online store EzyDVD has listed one PT and one OT DVD set, with each set containing six DVD's and a release date set at October 29: EzyDVD OT set (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/801789) EzyDVD PT set (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/801788)

But I wanna have a Complete Saga box set :crying:
But at leats a PT box set would be good, as I don't own the whole PT because I am waiting for a box.

Bah, I'm tired of spending money on SW DVDs and getting crappy quality, especially the sound.

A PT Box Set would be nice.... but yes, a Saga set would be ideal.

I know nothing about that website, but two new 6 disc sets coming out in 3 months? Seems highly suspect to me. Nothing reported on the usually reliable thedigitalbits.com as of yet, but they're all at Comic Con right now. We'll see tomorrow.

I have three copies of the trilogy (2 on dvd and 1 on vhs), 3 copies of TPM (2 vhs and 1 dvd) and 1 of aotc, rots, clone wars (vol. 1 and 2) and ewok adventures.
if i am to buy any more copies of star wars, there better be one hell of a disk (or 2... or 3) of special NEVER BEEN SEEN features.

Indeed. There hasn't been a single word anywhere and that is suspect. I guess we'll just have to keep our eyes and ears open over the next months.

Something that really has to be fixed with the OT discs is the abysmal and subpar color correction. If that's fixed, that alone would be a reason for me to buy a new set.

And 3 months from now is still 2 months away from Christmas, which is when any real sets will be released anyway I reckon.

The date does coincide with the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on DVD (TheDigitalBits mentions it's being released around October 14 in the U.S. (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents)) which is interesting.

Okay, so no, there was no news posted about it, but I did see an interesting photo in their Comic Con photo collection. Scroll down to about the 5th pic... (http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/comiccon2008/photos_cc2008_3.html)

Yeah, but I don't squat about the pic, as there is no text with it, or any additional info on the site.
It's weird how large that box is, though, isn't it?

Not if it was filled with goodies, like the Bladerunner Suitcase. I hate when they tease us.

Goodies would be nice, and that does make sense. I can't believe that that photo exists but there is no news to go along with it.

Are we talking about the set of six items in the wooden case with Vader on the side? That's Star Wars: Frames:

For $4 G's it better be signed by Lucas.
There was actually a very disturbing photo in that Comic Con link though. Erin Grey, one of my first crushes as a child watching her in those tight white uniforms on Buck Rogers is starting to look old.
Perhaps Vader saw that photo at the end of ROTS:

Knowing the aussie market and having bought from ezydvd, I wouldn't be surpised if this is just the 2 disc movies sets now boxed.
Last year LFL released the same discs in oz as I had bought the previous year but with a 30yr sticker placed on it. Having seen them everywhere and in great numbers, I think they were recalled. This is their way to get rid of them by putting in a new sleeve and boxing them and marketing the PT as first time as a box set.
Once they disappear they can then release the new blu-ray version the following year.

Magnus is right there is has been no announcement.
But I feel that it will be sooner (late 2009) rather than latter as there's talk that blu-ray will not last as long as dvds, since everyone downloads both music and clips so the movie business will be the next to take off. LFL will want to make as much money as they can out of us fans.

Perhaps he will wait until he can bring his super-duper-no-moon-Saga-set which contain theatrical version, 2004 SE, 3D versions and blue-ray final version all together...

For that price, GL should not only sign it, but deliver it to your door in person, do your household chores for the day, watch at least one episode of the Saga--your choice--with you, and answer all your questions about it.

 Yeah, at the very least. I'm not much of a collector, but if I'd ever dish out that kind of money it would have to be for something really rare.

It's ridiculous, If I'm gonna spend $4000 it's gonna be for a night with Flo Fett. :)
