The more I see of the nose art of the ship in the Clone Wars, the more I like it. So I put together what I can find.

It really contrasts the Republic clone army with the Empire.

Nothing like Vietnam references.
All joking aside, I do like the nose cones. They're pretty awesome

Gunship Art :w00t:
During World War II, aviation crews would often decorate their bombers and other planes with one-of-a-kind paintings on the side of the aircraft's nose. They were often meant to raise spirits, boost morale, and remind everyone of the freedoms they were fighting for. Common elements include scrappy cartoon characters with a lot of fight in them, or pretty girls like the kind found in pin-ups and calendars of the 1940s.
The Republic gunships seen in The Clone Wars are a nod to that rich history of aircraft art. There are three seen in the movie, with more on the way from the series.

This one with the green Twi'lek is seen aboard the hangar of the transport ship that brings Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano to Teth.

This blue one, labeled the "Lucky Lekku", is seen on one of the gunships that brings the clones to Teth. (A "lekku" is a tentacle hanging from a Twi'lek's head).

This one, of a Kowakian monkey lizard, is seen in the hangar bay of the ship Obi-Wan Kenobi lands on after returning from Tatooine. It says "Laugh This Off!"

Brought the lego version of the gunship the other day. Get to choose which nose art to go with. Either Lucky Lekku or the monkey lizard.
