Amazon has revealed that Star Wars: Battlefront III will be available on March 15, 2009!

EDIT: Locking in a release date for a game that far in advanced is pretty much unheard of nowadays. Unless LucasCorp. is planning to release the game with something else in a big marketing push... Blu-ray?

Well it's the best selling LucasArts and Star Wars game to date so you know the 3rd is in development. Just a matter of time and let's hope it's better than the last two.

Speaking of Battlefront: Did you guys hear about The Lord of the Rings: Conquest? It's being developed by Pandemic Studios, and according to them: it's like taking all the options, controls, and over all gameplay from Battlefront II and sticking it in Middle-Earth.

How awesome is that!? They showed some clips of it and it's almost exactly like Battlefront. There are bases represented by torches, I believe. And, just like in BF, you go up to one of your own bases, hit the enter button and then a 'holographic roulette' of characters appears and you pick which one you want and play as him/her.

I cannot wait for this!

There's one thing that differentiates Star Wars and LOTR - projectile weapons. Melee combat, whether it be in 1st or 3rd person has always sucked. Watch that again but without the epic music. Not quite as impressive. I wonder if the license is strong enough to rely on, despite the mediocre gameplay?

What!? How can they they give is a rating with out there being a game on the way?

Ok this is talking about the DS version but the rumor is that there will be a Wii, PS3 and 360 version also.
