lol always bothered me
whenever someone says the word "like" every third word in a sentence
"you're fired," "is that your final answer?" and all those other catchphrases that happen to come about through a TV show or movie....except Why So Serious, that's a good phrase.

When people use any kind of chat room lingo in actual conversation. Put bluntly, it drives me insane. It also irritates me when people curse every other word. Not saying my language is clean by any means, but enough is enough!

Yeah, I hate Y'all. GRRRRR.
I also hate probaly, libary, Febuary, dunno, gonna, whanna.
Just an example. Customer enters the shop;
Customer: Can I have a bottle of ****, please?
Sho Owner : I'm sorry, we sold them all. There's any left.
Customer: Oh no. Not even one left?
For God's sake, the guy just told you that there isn't any left. Why do you have to ask for it again. Do you think he is hiding some for people who ask this meaningless question?

I remembered a word I hated that is butchered. One time in Kentucky I was at the mall and these teens were saying"Mane" "instead of Man" Like this"Hey, mane, what's up mane" I was like what? Are they at talking to a horse or something?
Then I seen the movie Hustle&Flow. Terrence Howard's character who lived in Memphis spoke the same way. He said"Mane" instead of "man" It got on my nerves and I've been in Memphis before a few times and never heard any speak like that.

I agree with you. I rarely ever use such words, and get highly annoyed should someone use them, especially air headed blonds (no offense to the blonds out there, but the airheads really annoy me.) LOL, ROFL, LMAO, BTW, BFF, TTYL, all of those just annoy the pants off me.

Yeah, innit is now UK slang for 'isn't it' or 'ain't it'. It's very annoying but became so widespread that even older people say it, for fun, to annoy people!

Words that I dislike for no rational reason: Superb, basically, quango, synergy
I also hate absolute fuds that use 'office speak' such as 'thinking outside the box', 'downsizing', 'blue sky thinking', and 'lets not reinvent the wheel' you end up with people talking like this:
"I guess adding more complexity into this particular strategic initiative would put too much pressure on the various points of leverage, and our goals would be unattainable in an accelerated time horizon."
*shudders*
I also hate
'Don't be a hater'
'...is the new black'
'well, you're intitled to your opinion'
'I'm not rascist but...'
'Well, actually...'
'No offense but...'
I'm stopping now before I get into a mad rant

^^ Well, actually Flo, I said that exact sentence at work today and as a direct result of that and the fact that we are downsizing the directors thought outside the box and have decided to let me go out to pasture. So I'm probably gonna have to reinvent the wheel to get another job. Basically, I'm not a hater, but being inbetween jobs is not the new black. However I will be proactive and hope that the superb synergy between my positive mental attitude and my drive to get things done in a more user-friendly manner will end this period of mine outside a quango.
*feels a dull thud in his back then collapses as the toxic dart takes swift effect.* I'm not rascist but, you Mandalorians really are dangerous!

When people use any kind of chat room lingo in actual conversation.
I got in a conversation with someone who actually said "LOL." Not "laughing out loud," L O L. I smacked him.
I used to work in a library, and I HATED "liberry." I hated it. Even some of my co-workers said it. They way I figured it, I did not work in a fruit.
Oh, and Solo reminded me of something. When I worked at the library, we had a service where a company would use our building to prepare taxes for low-income families. All we had to do was take appointments. I had a woman call up, asking for an appointment. I told her that our earliest appointment was on February 13th (or whatever the second Saturday in February was).
"Is that the first Saturday in February?"
"No, it's the second."
"Do you have any in the first week in February?"
"No, our earliest appointment is on February 13th."
"Do you have any in January?"
Grrr.... "No, our EARLIEST appointment is on February 13th."
"Do you have any in the first week in February?"
Okay, b:censored:, you're starting to get on my nerves. "NO, OUR EARLIEST APPOINTMENT is on February 13th."
"You don't have anything earlier?"
"NO."
Wow. I wonder if stupidity is genetic. If it is, I fear for her children.

It bugs the crap out of me when people say "ImporDent". It's "imporTant"! I understand it's a cultural thing and they say it that way in the South, but when they say it around here in the North and when the PRESIDENT says it, it pisses me off!
