View Full Version : Pimp Your Own Threads Thread

In the MySpace blogging community people often invite others to their pimp-your-own-blog blogs, which are basically blog threads where you can introduce yourself and talk about what your blogs are about, include a link, and invite others to add you as a friend and subscribe to your blog. It is a great way to meet others, gain new readers, and find new interesting blogs to read. I have made an enormous amount of MySpace friends that way; fellow bloggers, and blog readers.

I propose that we do something similar right here. Not share MySpace links, but discuss right here what sort of threads we enjoy starting on GS, and provide links to 10 of our chosen threads and invite others to read them. As a result, we may encounter many older topics by each other that we haven't read or known about before. It's also a better method, IMHO, than bumping up old topics in hopes that people will read them.

So there is my idea, to have each participant list their 10 favorite threads that they themselves created, including the links to each one, and perhaps mention what they are about, in case the title is not so evident, and if it isn't already obvious, what it is about that thread that you started that you liked enough to link to it. But it need not be your favorite thread of your creation, but one which you simply want to introduce all over again to others, which hadn't had a lot of replies at the start, perhaps.

I will be back in a while with my links.

I also have a thread in the EU section which contains reviews and discussion of the journey I have embarked on - reading all the SW novels in timeline order. Some people like it.

Ah yes, I happened to have read some of it today. I'm actually thinking that you may like to read my SW novel when it is finished, my own EU, that is. Have heard about it, yes?

Yes, I have heard you are working on a number of items, I believe. This year I have read approx a book every 3 weeks and so at this rate I will get round to your work in about 4 years! Have you posted your stuff on the GS? I rarely venture into the fanfiction section as I just don't have time to really enjoy anything that is in there. What did ya think of my thread then beyotch?

Interesting, to say the least. I have not read but a few EU books so your takes on the ones that I did read of the prequel era actually refreshed my memory to much of them that I did not recall about the stories and details. Am currently reading Dark Lord-The Rise of Darth Vader so I'd be glad to share opinions of it when I finish it. But that's for another topic.

I have neglected them a bit recently, but have plans to fix them up over the holidays.

Once again Tovor posts a survey without putting "Survey" in the title. Although wouldn't this thread be better in Community?

Here's a question, if Javen posts in a thread that's simply about other threads, does that effectively kill all threads?
