Sarah suggested in my Tov's Avatar thread that I have a contest like Flo Fett had, for people to nominate a new avatar for me. My response to Sarah had been:
As for an avy contest, I don't know about that. Flo, bless her heart, is a one-avatar girl who keeps the same avy for such a long time. As you know I change mine often, so would there be a point of holding a contest to choose a temporary avy for me?
But then this evening I followed that up with,
On the other hand, it might actually be fun. Quite often I chose avatars that were so extreme or unusual, or both, that they of things people wouldn't expect; sort of a "what'll he come up with next?" type of thing. So perhaps I could turn the tables and leave it to others to come up with avy's that I wouldn't expect?
So there we have it. This thread is for you, if you agree to this mission, to nominate a new avatar for me to use on a temp basis (because we all know that I change mine often anyway). But unlike Flo's poll, there won't be a poll or a vote. I alone will select the avatar of my choosing, that amuses or impresses me most. I'll be honest, being the self-centered entertainer that I am, the only person I am looking to please in this contest will be myself. Thus I'll choose the one I like most, to amuse myself and myself alone...As well as everyone else who happens to look at my new temp avy, that is.
So here is the criteria for this contest, mission, task, game, or whatever one might wish to call it. In the past I have always tried to find, with some exceptions, the most unusual and/or extreme images to put into my avatars; usually with the desire to not only amuse myself, but to amuse others by coming up with images that were unexpected and sometimes over the top, to make people think "Oh that's so unusual, I'd have never expected it; he always surprises me with those..." Now, maybe people didn't always think that at all, but it was my intent.
So with that said, if you partake in this contest, mission, task, game, or whatever one might wish to call it, pick and choose wisely, and thereby post images that will not only amuse or impress me, but be beyond what I may have expected. You should post them at full size, not shrunk to avatar size. I can shrink the one I choose myself.
Do not post any of mutilated or mutated or nightmarish faces and heads. You know Mama Blizz doesn't like those. I wasn't allowed to watch Aliens when my mother was home, because the creatures bursting out of stomachs and chests freaked her out. So be considerate to Blizz as I had to be with my own mom.
Remember...I always chose avy images I figured no one would expext me to use, so contemplate my reaction in the same manner.
The contest will end in a few days, or later if no one participates.
Let's figure on my picking a winner by the end of Monday. If don't return by that time, and anyone wishes to post more candidates, by all means feel free. No limit to how many you submit.
