Inspireshine...the Light from Within

Greetings, Senators.
I have put my online energy into a new project. I started it as a website until I changed my mind and left it unfinished. Then I started it as a Live Journal blog...and then made it into a MySpace site and blog too. It is called Inspireshine and the addresses are:

Yeah. Some of the statements are quite profound, despite the presence of sushi. I particularly enjoyed the one about how "once a winner, always a winner". It had some personal application in terms of the fact that I have come back from the brink of defeat to win something even though I thought I was down and out. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Not everybody can be the fastest in a race. But then again not everybody is fit enough, determined enough, confident enough, to run the race at all. There are more ways of winning than just winning.



To give another example, there are no losers in the Special Olympics. You can be a winner, but winning the race is not always the reason why. Sometimes you're a winner just because you try.

You know how the section on the upper right of our profiles shows titles and links to the last few blog entires you've posted? I always thought that was too limited, so I spent some time (too much time actually) searching for the right customizing codes to make certain changes to the profile layout.

Well, I customized a section on the left side and turned it into a table of contents, which now shows the titles as links to every entry in my blog thus far. As I update with more entries, I'll add them to the contents as well.

So check it out on my profile, and let me know what you think.

I know that few of my fellow Senators are as impressed as I am by this, but understand that my goal is to be read all around the world, by as many people as possible, so this is highly impressive to me. It means that word of my blog is reaching the masses, and I've gotten about 150 new friend requests in the last 2 days. More friends means more readers, so booya!

That's what it's all about. A blogger writes to be read, to reach out and touch more and more readers. A blogger rites to be red, but he is bloo when he ain't red. Ya dig?

Hundreds? Yes, that is brave, and I've been doing that here on these boards since '99. But on MySpace I'm under the scrutiny of thousands. My blog has been viewed 13,619 times alone since last Sunday, and 20,351 times overall in the last 2.5 months. :where:

The only problem about posting up images of my work is that most of my stuff from the past 5 years has been commercial art for various companies, the details of my contract means that they own the intellectual rights to it and I can't use it for myself.

I understand; that makes sense, they own the copyrights. However, if you are not reposting the work for financial reasons, are you not allowed to display it simply as examples of your work? For instance, surely you should be able to use such examples in your portfolio, no?

No, I'm not freelance, I work for the company and bythe rules of my employment any work I produce while I work for them belongs exclusively to them.
I'd have to apply to the boss man for permission to use it in my portfolio if I needed to and that's just a hassle and a half for a website that I barely use.
