How does scoring work in tournaments? I played a couple god awful games of zoo keeper and then went back to the tournament screen. Says I've tried once and no score.

If you have a bad game don't submit it. I only submitted the good ones. You have to submit them for them to count.

Something worth noting, I scored 1900 in the Target tourney, that's all well and good but it doesn't show up as the high score as it should be on the regular arcade high scores. HOWEVER, on the arcade list it says that my score of 1900 is tops. :giveup:

^ Definitely - that damn hole with the fairway that is the width of the golf ball and with water on both sides is a tough one. Either I get it perfect first time and get a hole in one or within two shots, or I spend about five minutes just trying to get to the green!

Not so much luck than getting a game that deals you the right cards in the right order for more than one round. Only happens every so often, I noticed. I've only broken 10,000 three times now, and I'd hate to think how many times I've played.

The reason to why I haven't done anything in three days is because I don't want to use up my last try until after my counterpart has done anything. I absolutely hate those people who try to win by getting the other ones to get Disqualified. They do it like this: Player A plays the game, gets a high score, Player B plays the day after, gets a lower score then A, doesn't play again until A nearly gets Disqualified from inactivity, Player A just plays without trying to get Higher score so that he won't be Disqualified, Player B plays the day after, doesn't bother to try good and tries again to get the other Disqualified.

And if he never manages to Disqualify his opponent he waits until player A has done all his three turns before trying to beat it, preventing Player A to get a real second and third try.

If you are the one with the higher score it shouldn't be possible for you to get Disqualified by waiting for the other player to do anything.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like both of you are playing basically the same way. But while you both are trying on the first round(I assume) the difference is that only your opponent is trying on the final round, because he has to. Whereas you only try the first round because you think you've got it made after that.

Honestly, both of your tactics don't really do a good job of determining who's a better player. They're just tactics to win the tournament. Maybe you should just have fun playing and see how good you actually are instead of pulling out all the stops just to add another tournament win to your trophy case.

After we first played, I had the higher score. Then instead of him trying to get a better score, he waits 5 days in hope that I will forget to play (I don't get a reminder as he haven't played) and get Disqualified, he keeps doing that in hope that I will one day forget to play and get Disqualified.

I see both of your points. To you, Morridini, I would agree with the fact that some people sometimes do that, waiting for you to forget to play and get disqualified. It also makes for a boring tournament because it lasts so long. However, I also agree with Blizz, because not everybody is on all the time, playing these games. I've missed several tournaments because my computer crashed myself. Also, some games take forever to play, like Space Invaders. I don't know if you ever played the game, but if you are really good, it takes like half and hour to get through a single game. Also, it gets boring if you play certain games repetitively (ahem-Space Invaders). So, while it is frustrating, I'll also tie in JMH's post in here by saying that your best bet is to have fun and try to get a higher score than your opponent without having to play a continuous game of tag with him. After all, what does it matter whether you have a winning score right off the bat, or later on?

There should be a way to have tournament scores count toward the regular high scores, if a tourney score is higher than the posted high score.

I think it does do that...but you don't get to post on the actual high score list...it justs lists your high score from the menu of games on the arcade page.

My god, Slingo Crazy 7s (http://www.galacticsenate.com/arcade.php?&act=Arcade&do=play&gameid=214), was a hard one for me, thank god it was 5 tries.

My first try I got 950, while you three all got over 2K, second try I got
500 points, and so on. I was about to kiss that tournament goodbye when I suddenly got a string of luck in my fifth of five tries, and suddenly got more then any of you.

Now I just hope Obidobi fails to beat me.

Seriously, I love word games and I have played chain letters a lot to be able to get the scores I have. There are certain patterns which you can look for that enable you to increase your score. But I'm not gonna give too much away, as I like the thought of being champion at something!
