All low life scum and others knew the station named Dead Mans Point. Some people stated that the station had been around since the birth of the Republic, but truth was that it had only been around for three years. Smugglers and pirates were known to make the dangerous journey past Republic grounds to the sacred moon of Ruusan. A lot of people who had heard of its location considered the people that went there to be empty in the head. Ruusan was considered a wasteland desert up there with Tatooine. Yet even with the sacred haven for illegal and people running from bounty hunters and what not were about to have the galaxy turned upside down. The Republic had been dismantled and what rose from the ashes was far worst. Many people considered the Galactic Empire to be the end of freedom and the way of life. With military growing and new laws taking place everyday many criminals decided that Dead Mans Point was its own government. Lately many hitchhikers and wanted criminals mostly aliens were moving their lives to the station.
The transport Grim Beauty had left hyperspace for what was considered safe land. The captain a Rodian named Gondol was known for causing trouble every time he arrived at Dean Mans Point. Last time he arrived he had caused massive trouble by starting a bar fight with another pirate group. Gondol sat with his arms folded and his dark green head down. A human officer walked over to him as the station came into view.
“ Captain our guest is wondering where we are.” The man whispered. Gondol groaned and looked over to the human.
“ Your kind is slime. I take her out of good will and nearly blow up. That last time I ever make a run on Coruscant. Now Empire make huge ships and shoot any smuggler.” Gondol replied fiercely. The man nodded and walked off as the Grim Beauty docked with the station. The airlock opened and two heavily armed Nemodians walked onto the transport with blasters in hand. One of them also held a vibroblade on its back. They looked at Gondol with their bug eyes and mud faces.
“ Why did you come back? The Overlord doesn’t want you back after last time.” One Nemodian stated. Gondol drew a small hold out blaster and tossed it around.
“ Me have cargo from Coruscant. Took lots of work to get.” Gondol replied. The Nemodians didn’t seem to care and lowered their weapons on Gondol. Gondol laughed and pointed the blaster to a cargo room.
“ Me also have very important item. Item that could make the Overlord very rich. Me have a Jedi Knight.” Gondol added with a cruel tone. The Nemodians dropped their blasters and were dumb founded. Nobody had thought that there were any Jedi left in the Galaxy after the recent rebellion the Jedi made. Now there was only the worst thing to come to the galaxy. Darth Vader. The thing in the black suit. In ways Vader had become a symbol of fear to all those opposed to the Empire. Gondol leaned against a wall and twirled his blaster from hand to hand.
“ The Overlord will see you in the Cantina in one hour. Don’t cause any trouble Rodian.” The Nemodians said at once. They walked off with blasters in hand. The human officer came back with a blaster rifle in hand.
“ You’re seriously going to sell the Jedi to the overlord?” He asked. Gondol stood up and looked the man in the eye. Even though Gondol was smaller than him the man still was afraid of the Rodian.
“ You know how much they pay for her? We be rich after we sell this Jedi. Then we can buy a moon.” Gondol said daydreaming. The man nodded in approval as he made his way towards the cargo hold. His hands were strapped to his blaster rifle as he entered the code. The door slid open and he studied the Jedi. She had to be no more than 20. Her hair was long dark brown and she wore a thick light brown robe. Her lightsaber, which was worth more than the Jedi herself. She stirred a bit and the man jumped. His boots made a pounding noise and she woke up. Her hair covered her face and she wiped it away with her hands. Her eyes were light blue and her eyes looked like she was in pain.
“ Where are we?” She asked quietly. The man leaned down to look at her face to face.
“ Where the Empire wont get us. Dead Mans Point. The pirate and smuggler haven on the moon of Ruusan.” The man answered. She nodded and little and began to stand. Her legs shook and she leaned on the wall for support.
“ So do I get to go now?” She asked. The man whistled to himself and put the blaster over his shoulder.
“ Actually not. We’re going to the Cantina for a while then we’ll go.” The man answered. He led the Jedi to Gondol and they walked off. The station must have been filled to the max with smuggler vessels. A Duro was selling arms as they walked by. Gondol waved to his fellow friends as the Cantina came into view.
“ Two years this Empire has been harassing us.” A patron shouted. His friend nodded as Gondol led the others to a table. He pointed to the Jedi to sit at the far end near the wall where no one could see her. Gondol turned to leave and looked over at the Jedi.
“ You stay here. No running or I’ll toss you in space.” He whispered. The man smiled as Gondol went over to the casino.
“ Is he always so enjoyable?” She asked. She ran her hand through her hair and the man saw a scar on her arm. She covered it quickly and looked around. All sorts of scum balls and airheads were talking in the cantina. The one thing that caught her eyes was a man and a Manaan talking at a table. The man had dark black hair, which ran down to the bottom of his neck. He had a blaster on the table and the Manaan also had one with it.
“ That’s Cal and Rictor.” The man sitting with her answered. She looked over at him with a look of wanting to know more. “ He’s been around as a smuggler for two years now. Some say he was something else. Might have been a clone or a Republic commander.” He added. Cal was now gazing at her with his right eye. She felt something from him and turned away.
“ Why does he have a Manaan with him?” She asked. The man pulled out a chunk of bread and began to munch on it.
“ Rictor can hold his on don’t under estimate him. They’re partners they use Rictor’s ship the Ebony. I think Cal saved Rictor from Imperial slavery so that’s how those two ended up partners.” The man finished. Now Cal was walking over towards their table. He looked at the woman for a while and then looked at the man.
“ Well Hudson never knew you could get a lady.” Cal said at no more than a whisper. Hudson shrugged and drank his drink as Cal stared at the woman again. “ How much did he pay you to come here with him?” Cal asked. The woman didn’t reply but gave Cal a stern look. Hudson coughed and looked over at Rictor who was watching intently.
“ We picked her up from Coruscant. Nearly had the entire Imperial fleet on us.” Hudson replied. Cal’s face was now locked on a blank expression. The woman concentrated but couldn’t read his mind. Gondol was back with an armed escort of 10 Nemodians. Hudson didn’t seem shocked as they walked over to the table.
“ There she is ladies and smugglers. A real Jedi Knight.” Gondol said with cheer in his voice. The entire cantina went quiet as everyone now looked over at them. Cal looked at the woman and turned to Rictor. The Nemodians lowered their weapons at the woman and were ready to fire.
