I am bummed because this was going to be first opportunity to see Hayden, Jake and David all together... would have been most impressive.

But still....largest gathering of the 501st - I'd like to meet Albin Johnson - I've been swept up in the story of his darling little girl, Katie and of course R2-KT.

Merged with an already existing thread.

Although it's only 4 hours away I doubt i'll be driving up for it. The idea of driving for that long is not something I could handle. :ugh:

had a BLAST! Even though Hayden skipped it for a "filming opportunity" (HobbyStar refunded all my money plus gave me a free VIP pass) and Albin Johnson, the founder of the 501st, also had to cancel at the last minute due to job promotion..... gamers would have been majorly stoked as there was some sort of world championships going on and those participating seemed very, very skilled.

Great costumes - but vast majority were not Star Wars since this wasn't a SW convention. There was, excuse the language, a slutty Jedi in pink and the best child/Jake-era/Anakin I've ever seen - Jake got quite a kick out of the him. Some of the non-SW costumes were related to those gamers - lots of Asian representation also a great couple from The Corpse Bride (Tim Burton would have been so proud) -
I was so glad I got a chance to meet Jake again since he seemed so reserved, quiet and withdrawn at C4. This time he was with David Prowse in a session and was very sardonic, dry-witted, somewhat jaded but totally honest. He received a lot of non-SW questions relating to rock bands. I asked him if he and Pernilla had spent a lot of time developing the mother/son relationship and he downplayed that by saying virtually everyone associated with SW had been exceptionally nice and thoroughly helpful to him and that definitely included his "mom", Pernilla. He was really funny - spontaneously responding to whacked out questions graciously. David still appears to have some things he would like to work out with George and chomped at the bait to compare the maker with Irv Kershner. He spent a long time with the 501st, dining with them Friday night and they said he was great.
He greeted me with a "Sure - come on up here!" when I asked for a photo - even let me hug him and held my hand and signed my DV (it's suppose to be for kids, but ya know) umbrella.

on Saturday I had on an "It's All About Anakin" tshirt on and Jake initially laughed when I asked for a photo saying he felt so "self-centered" and refused the money but I still gave his handler/helper $10-. Great kid and he's only 18!

Tem Morrison and Daniel Logan were hysterical at their session - obviously lots of water under that bridge. Tem was borderline risque (Zam) but we loved it. I asked Tem about the scene with Ewan in AotC - he said that was his very first SW scene and he was highly nervous until George told him to act like it was just another day at the office. He and Ewan just bounced off each other, each underplaying - Tem has enormous respect for Ewan, says he very, very disciplined. Tem's favorite line of all - "just trying to make my way through the universe" - it was GREAT to hear him throw out dialogue in character... I asked Daniel if he and Tem had worked on their relationship BTS or even off the set, etc - and they both jumped in with answers - "Danny", as he is called by Tem, said Tem took him underwing, inviting him to his room since he had the full set up of tv, comfy furniture, etc. Tem consistently called Daniel "son", even when calling him at home in New Zealand - he once called and asked Daniel's mother if his son was home...

One of the best sessions was with Cris Macht from "The Force Among Us" - we got to see clips, and BTS plus hear the story.....my DVD had arrived right before I left for the convention so I didn't get a chance to see it but from what I saw on Sunday, this is a must-have for SW fans. He and his sister were added to the C4 presentations plus after Mary Franklin saw the film he was added to Celebration Europe. TFAU will be seen at the Toronto Film Festival in two weeks and also at the Sundance FF. The "world" premiere in a Chicago suburb is already totally sold out. Cris says if this proves to be successful (sure sounds like it is already, to me) there will be a sequel on the prequels. Cris and his sister LOVE Star Wars - they really do.....therefore they understand, and know how good it is to come across other people who share your beliefs and that you believe.

2 people in my group (the Padawans) attended the celebrity dinner/party on Saturday night. They had a wonderful time getting up close and personal - I was still doing the convention plus going to a Himilayan Festival - Toronto is one heck of a town! - Beautiful and there is so much happening. Street fairs every night - clean, clean city - no graffiti, recycling everywhere. Beautiful water front and the CN Tower is a real land mark - much like the Eifel Tower in Paris, you can get your bearings by looking up.

Wish there were conventions scattered throughout the year and close by - Toronto required a 3 hour drive to Detroit (picking up an attendee) and then another 5 hours (traffic etc/ bridge-security) from there to Toronto - but worth it and actually very close by compared to Dragon Con, San Diego and I guess, based on the rumors, all future Celebrations. By the way - I contacted Gen Con, trying to find one of the vendors from C4 and at this point Gen Con has not been contacted, nor has anything been reserved for a C5 in LA although they too, have heard the rumors.

as always the final hours of a convention are so sad....
