View Full Version : Dreamcatcher
Dreamcatcher (http://dreamcatchermovie.warnerbros.com/cmp/main-fr.html) is out now in Oz, it's got a short film at the start called the final flight of the Osiris, it's computer animated (like the final fantasy movie) and it's about the Matrix world.
The film's got Morgan Freeman and Tom Sizemore in it.
My only questions are, has anyone seen it? And, what the **** was that all about? The weirdest movie of the year.

I won't be catching this "Dream." I'll wait for it to come to network television or something.

Yeah, I saw Dreamcatcher...the fact the the animated Matrix short was better than the actual film should tell you how I felt about the movie. Total disappointment. Bad character development. Stupid ending...just not what I thought it would be.

Great book I'll give it that.
I walked in on part of it, I didn't have time for the whole thing, I was with people, busy.
I will catch the film sometime, and I'll probably be saying "And most of you guys think Kasdan is what made ESB such a good film." style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif
kasdan= ESB, RAIDER, THE BIG CHILL, GRAND CANYON... He's pretty good. Sometimes good filmmakers get stuck with schikt. obviously it was a hard book to adapt.
I like the look though, good cinematography and editing.

That book was impossible to adapt... in a two hour movie. And they really snuffed it... especially changing the ending. I remember reading the book thinking to myself "Man, this would make a great miniseries like other King books have worked out in". As a two hour flick... the entire concept is LOST. Very interesting read though.
Maybe, like they did with the Shining, King will write his own adaptation and they'll turn it into a miniseries. (*Note* This does not mean the first Shining was bad... but it wasn't a very good adaptation... as a movie, it rocked... but not as an adaptation. The miniseries was a much better representation of the book, though not as artful as the original movie.)
I really believe the only reason I understood the movie, was because I had the book as subtext. Anyone unfamiliar would have had to be completely confused.

I read the book but never plan on seeing the movie, cuz there is no freakin way that they could fit half that into a 2 hour movie.
