CT-3396/8907 watched the four Advanced Recon Commandos load the gunship. He was just a pilot and had seen many things, but rarely had he seen ARC troopers before a mission. They looked cool, calm and collected which was always a good thing for a soldier to be. They were loading some heavy equipment: a DC-29 rotary gun, DC-39 Rocket launcher and many demolition charges. He looked on as the clone troops busied themselves they seemed not to notice but they did and it was irking them. One stopped loading and the clone pilot swallowed hard as the ARC trooper glanced at him briefly and began to take off his helmet. This trooper had a scar from the back of his ear all the way down to the center of his chin. The others gave this one a wide birth indicating he was in charge. Another one stood up and began to speak
“Sarge who do you think is going to lead our little rag tag team here?”
So he’s a sergeant eh…Hmm The pilot continued thinking
“Don’t know Taler, just have to wait and see.” He said plainly continuing his work
The pilot was extremely interested in these four for some odd reason. He assumed it was because of their not being afraid of death. Suddenly a stiff arm shoved the pilot against the gunships hull.
“A little nosey aren’t we, pilot?” A blood red armored ARC trooper said
“No Sir” The pilot said
“What’s your name trooper?” The Captain said
“Blind Side Sir!”
“You’re the one who pulled that stunt off in the space battle over Jabiim right?”
“Yes sir.”
“Get to your ship and let my men work.” The ARC Captain said
Blind side scrambled up the ladder into his cockpit and checked things over.
“Well done captain that di’kut was watching us for over an hour.”
“Sergeant Prudii your under Lieutenant Raz’s command he is under my command I issue the orders he relays them to you and you follow them. Clear?” The captain said
“Yes sir, but what do you want us to call you?”
“Call me Talyc for my work often is.” Talyc said
Talyc is mado’a for Bloody, an unusual name for a trooper
“Funny di’kut, this one.” One of the four ARC said
Talyc stopped dead and landed a lightning blow to the troopers face. The trooper went down instantly.
“Who’s the di’kut now Ner Vod” Talyc said pausing “Oh and Sergeant I am leading the first wave to take the beach and oil refinery for General Yoda. The Turbo Tanks and IFT-X tanks will go down first, followed by Ordnance Engineers and ARC-170 escorts, followed by the LAAT/I transports with infantry. The plan is for the tanks to weaken some of the Separatist defenses. There is a small sandbar that the SPHA-T’s will land on and hit the beach with as much artillery as they can before the Gunships arrive to drop off the troops and we mop up what’s left.” he finished
“Sounds easy enough, but what if the SPHA-T batteries miss their targets what do we do then?” Prudii asked
“Try to survive.” Raz chimed in
“Not the way I would have put it but very good Raz.” Talyc said
The trooper that had been socked in the face had finally risen off the ground and looked at Raz.
“Aren’t you cheerful?” He said
“Your Shooter, aren’t you. Well you had better keep your mouth shut or I will shut it for you…Permanently” Raz said turning around and then swiftly landed a blow to Shooter’s face.
“Load him into the ship we leave in five.” Talyc said
The Kashyyk Invasion had begun.
