Atlas of the Star Wars Galaxy is the working title of a forthcoming book written by Jason Fry and another author and published by Del Rey.
//Wookiepedia

Back in February at the New York Comic Con, it was revealed that Jason Fry (whose previous official gigs range from Coruscant and the Core Worlds to "Who's Who in Rogue Squadron") is writing an Atlas of the Star Wars Galaxy.

So guys, what do you think of this? Any speculations?

Waiting to see an official announcement from the OS before making up my mind.

Considering that the map have been included in the novels and also the fact files, do we actually need a book on the subject?:giveup:

Would LucasBooks miss out on the chance to make an easy couple of million selling a book that will have to be updated every two years anyway:wink:

Yeah, I did, thanks. I'm afraid that I don't have too much faith in this, but let's see how it turns out.

Q&A from the VIP-thread of TOS (JUne 1, 2007):

Q: When will we see the second edition of The Essestial Guide to Planets and Moons released?

Sue Rostoni: We're coming out with an Essential Atlas, basically an updated Guide to Planets and Moons. I'm not certain of the pub date, but we have solicitation covers in so it is going to happen.

hmm. maybe this book will have a map of the Ancient Sith Empire's worlds, worlds that belonged to the Rakata, and maps of the Old Republic, Empire, Chiss, Yuuzhan Vong, and the various Sith and Mandalorian governments from the entire EU. Or is this too much to hope for????

I'd welcome this book, but I guess it's just a case of waiting and seeing what they release!

That's something I would want to see. Dimentions of the various gov. and areas ruled by certain peoples and timelines there of. See how the Galaxy changes hands, so to speak. Particularly interesting to me would be the shape of the galaxy during the KOTOR times and how it has changed for TSL and then reshaped itself into the Republic before Palpatine changed it into the Empire.

I'm extremely skeptical, but I'll reserve judgment until it's released.
