This thread is about the Crap we face in our lives.

But it is different than "The Crap Thread".

"So," some random persons says, "It's a copy of the 'Anti-Crap Thread', right?"

"No, Random Person," I say in return. "This is neither the Crap thread or the Anti-Crap thread. This is the negate the crap thread."

"Huh?" the Random Person says. "I don't get it."

"Just pay attention," I says, and says the following:

Something bad or annoying happens, and then something good happens after that makes up for the bad, or negates it completely, but the good that comes after is directly related to the bad that came before. Get it?

Someone might be thinking, "I'm bored and tired of reading the same old threads, and suddenly Tov comes along and starts a new fun thread. Crap...I'm bored...Anti-Crap, Tov made a new thread!" See? That's what I mean by negating the crap. Now, nobody would ever say something like the afore mentioned comment because most of my thread ideas suck. But you get the idea.

This can be about simple things that happened, or serious things, or funny things, or suprising things. But they must be real things. Don't make anything up.

Here is the format to use, and my first contribution to the thread:


-Crap, the parking where I work sucks and unless you get there very early, you wind up parking extremely far from our office. This morning I got to work very late and had to park all the way at the far end of the long field. Before I left to go home, it started raining hard.
-Anti-Crap, my friends Dennis and Katrine (bf&gf) usually get there very early and park right by the back door, and they gave me a ride to my car through the rain.

-Additional anti-crap: It was that favor that inspired me to start this thread.

Darth Mass's post reminded me of something similar that happened to me one night.

Crap, I had gotten in an arguement with my cousin because he wanted to go to the more expensive Crabby Jack's (a raw bar) and I wanted to go to Denny's next door to eat. So we ate seperately and he later had an attitude that I spent 10 bucks on a meal he thought wasn't worth it (and also that I hadn't minded eating alone, after going back to my car to get my LOTR book).

Anti-crap, on the way out after paying for the ten dollar meal, I looked down and spotted a $20 on the floor by the door. No one was around who may have recently dropped it so I scopped it into my pocket. I never even told him about it either. When he made fun of me for wasting $10 at Denny's I just laughed at him.

Crap! I screwed up the settings on my computer while trying to make a security change, when I inadvertantly required it to demand a password...but I had no idea what the old password was when I rebooted and find myself completely locked out of Windows XP for hours...

So I called Blizz for help...

Crap! Blizz didn't know how to override the dead-end!

So I asked her to see if there was anyone online who knew how to do it...

Crap! There wasn't anyone online who she knew who could do it!

So I asked her to Google certain error names and certain phrases and find info on how to override the problem...

Crap! It wasn't so easy to find, and when she did find it, it was problematic to carry out!

Anti-crap!!! Blizz stayed the course and gave me ideas and instructions, hints, commands, prompts, orders, feedback, riddles, jokes, and dirty stories, and finally I got my operating system to let me in again, and voila, I was online again! :happydance:


So right now, one could truly say, that I would not be here if not for Blizz.

And I do mean that in more ways than one.

Crap! Property taxes through the roof have been killing me (and countless Florida homeowners) and I am literally in financial trouble because of it (among other factors)...
Anti crap! Governor Crist and others are working on a solution, and talking about dropping prop taxes back to their 2001 or 2003 levels.

Crap! There's no time to discuss this in a committee! We need the problem fixed now!
Anti crap! Crist said a few days ago, as quoted in a newspaper, that property owners would have relief soon!

Crap! I missed a couple of payments and percentage rates on all 3 of my credit cards shot up to 30%...and they expect me to pay them minimum of over $500 on each card every month. As if!

Anti crap! Credit card companies are fat and well fed and I can contribute to that!

Truth is, I wanted to draw out the ending slowly to instill suspense into people's thoughts, and lead them to wonder if I got back online or not. Really, what's a good story without a little suspense?

Crap, the five tickets I bought for the Play 4 game (a small nightly lottery in Florida for amounts up to a few thousand $, far more realistically easy to win than the million dollar lottery) last night did not have the winning numbers for last night's drawing.

Anti-crap, I (knowingly) bought them after the cut-off point so they are actually for tonight's drawing which gives me five chances to win tonight!

Crap, I weighed myself in the supermarket where I stopped in to get ice cream, and found that I've gained 2 pounds since the last time I weighed myself.

Crap. I studied a lot, but not nearly as much as I should have, as much as I needed to, and as a result, I only got a score of 71.3 on my state licensing exam. There were several people in my review class studying a lot more than I, who appeared to know much more than I in answering oral quiz questions, and I was concerned that I would fail and they would all pass, leaving me feeling foolish.

Anti crap...I did pass, and 3 people failed, and two more who finally passed had to retake the test 1 and 2 times, respectively, in order to pass. IE, 5 people I though would blow my score out of the water failed their first time taking it. Their final passing score was higher than mine (78% and 80%, over my 71.3%), but they failed their first time, and had to pay to retake it.

The anti crap is not that they failed, but that the test was obviously much harder than we all realized it to be, and I passed it on the first try.

Crap, I really do despise my new job, though the managers and co-workers are extremely nice. But I can't handle this work that I hate doing, and every day is a dragged out chore.

Crap, this other job that I interviewed for yesterday would have me working 10am to 9pm Wed, Thur, Fri, and Sat, and I wouldn't be able to go to temple Friday night or Saturday morning.


Negating the crap...the 2nd job just called me and offered me the job, and then agreed to let me work the Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed schedule instead. It pays only a dollar more an hour, but it's in a nicer office environment selling a better product that I can really believe in and sell, diabetic testing supplies to diabetics. I start on the 24th.

Unless I get a bank job that I was contacted by today. I have to send in authorization for a background check to them today.

Not sure. The background check will take a few days, and the training class begins on the 24th. I will know the answer to your question on Tuesday when I go in to the HR office to do the paperwork.

The bank job won't have me start, if I do start, for about 6 weeks, so I'd have to start this one first and then decide if I want to drop it if or when the bank offers me a position.
