I just got Photoshop 7.0 from a friend, I have no manual of any kind.I am trying to put a picture in a picture, I won't go into great detail unless someone here knows how to use Photoshop. I know kopernikuz does but he isin't on right now.

I have been messing with that. I am trying to isolate the pixels of a picture of a lightsaber and replace this soldier's gun with it.

How about this.

looks good - although the blade is coming out a bit blocky - what rez are you using?

Actually Krogenar made it on Microsoft software. I am still working on mine. Its confusing.

no easy way to do it really - I'd make a copy, insert it into a new layer, erase around the saber using a brush with a 'fuzzy' outline leaving a few pixels around the blade; change to a finer brush and lower the opacity to 75-50% so you don't remove the entire pixel, just the colour from it; gradually work your way closer to the edge of the blade; for really a really close shave use an opacity of 25% and bush size of 1.
...work on high zoom as well style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Thanks JediBendu, that doesn't sound complicated at all. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif

Ok Javen,
See my avatar, it consists of 4 layers. Each Darth is from a different pic, what I did was simply erase all the background stuff around each Darth (follow Jedi Bendu's instructions on erasing techniques). I made the erased background transparent and then layered each image on top of each other in the designated compostion space.

Ok I will do that. I also took Anakins head and put it on Vaders body and it looked good except for one thing. There was a white space around the head where the other head use to be.
JediBendu
03-22-2003, 09:21 PM
simple way is just to use the airbrush tool to fill it in, sampling the colour around it
JediBendu

before you insert the new head that is style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

JB's correct again! There's a rubber stamp tool that allows you to "copy" a color or area and "stamp" it in another. A good example is if you wanted to take a picture os a field of wild flowers (you fruit) and there was a naked guy leaping in the middle of your pic, use the rubber stamp to "copy a section of the pic with just flowers and then just stamp over the naked dude. It's an easy way to edit some images style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I would have stamped a crowd from the Oscars over the flowers and kept the streaker style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

Other than that, everything else is best learned on your own, jsut play around with the different color and lighting options, and the different filters, you'll get the hang of it.

I will defnitley give it a try. So should I get rid of his Cowboy hat, or leave it?
Darth Vegas

Leave it, cause without it it takes away from the "Dubya".

Make sure you have the layer you want higlighted, and go to edit, and then "free transform" and then hit the check at the top when your done.

Is there anyway you can explain that a little easier..?
Aurra Sing
04-06-2003, 04:13 AM
and can you also tell me how to start simple animations? Sorry I only had Adobe Photoshop LE, this is new to me, yet the same. I know I can do a lot more with Photoshop 7.0 though
Darth Vegas
04-06-2003, 04:35 AM
You can't do animation on Photoshop.
However, you can make the frames on Phtoshop by altering the same pic over and over again slightly. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif
Use bluring effects, lighting effects, and resize images and things like that.
It's all depends on your imagination.
You can use the same tools to do get different effects, there's almost no limit.

That's just cut and dry.
You have a pic you want to resize, you make sure you ahve it selected, and go to edit, and hit free transform and then when your done altering it, you hit the check symbol at the top.

Yes I got that. That is too bad about the animating. I thought you could do that. what programs can you do that in, do you know?
Thanks by the way!
Darth Vegas
04-06-2003, 05:06 AM
Yeah no prob.
You can do animation on Adobe Premiere, use Photoshop to alter the pics, and then Premiere put em sequence in a GIF animation or any other format, and add different effects.
It's what I use.
If you got Kazaa you can download it from their. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Question! What are the differences of Photoshop LE and Photoshop 7.0?
JediJaina
04-13-2003, 06:28 PM
I've never heard of Photoshop LE before.
I currently have Photoshop 6. I play around with it, but I am no expert. If anyone here has any cool links with regards to Photoshop, that would be useful. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif

And what do you want too learn. It took me constantly messing with it until I learned the stuff I know. So I am still learning.

I need a new mouse, there's so much dust in my house, it's Vegas, I live in the desert, what can I say.
I need an optical cordless mouse, then I'd be making alot better images.
