What are good tunes to listen to when imagining ISDs blowing the crap out of each other. Preferabley something also noble and heroic. Any help is always appriciated.

Do you have the Episode III soundtrack? Then listen to the music for the space battle. Or any other battle music from that movie. :) Hope this helps.

I do not know how nobel and heroic it is but I love to listen to the Swordfish soundtrack when flying the old Rogue Squadron game. Might check out The Crystal Method too.

If you are into classical you might want to check out some of Motzart's works and if not try crystal Method or Static-x Maybe even some Mudvayne.

EP III soundtrack is excellent to listen to while writing. Depending on the amount of action you plan on putting into the sequence, I would also suggest some techno. Good techno.

Try something like Beethoven's 5th - 1st movement (well most of it)
Never use techno - it's downright horrible and lacks any inspiration - and if you're trying to go for something grandiose like you describe, stick to classical styles, such as John Williams scores or proper classics.

Also, Beethoven's Sonata 13 in E flat Major is good and I highly recommend Sonata 14 in C sharp minor or Moonlight Sonata is also very good.

If you´re imagining an impressive presentation either the Imperial March or Mars, the Bringer of War should do.

I guess it all depends on the writer, what they normally listen to, and what gets the blood flowing. For a fast paced action sequence, I have listened to certain techno more than once. While the classical scores are good, and I use them a lot, sometimes you just need a little more movement.
But to each their own.
