There should be a weekly TV show like Star Trek but using The New Jedi Order Book Series as the plot.....

i think the main njo books (vector prime, star by star, destinys way, etc) should be turned into official star wars movies. the in-between books could be given quick synopsis at the beginning of each one. these books are more than suited to be star wars movies. it will never happen. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif

I thought Lucas had hinted some time ago that there would be a post-ROTJ TV series. If they do that, hopefully it will be original and not based on anything.

That would be cool

I don't think I would like movies on just Vector Prime, SBS, and DW. They would have to include Balance Point, and I think too many things would be left out of the movie, because all the books have important events that happen.
A TV Series would be better, hour long once a week, that would be great. Especailly if they could get Harrison Ford and someothers to do it.

I think I recall hearing that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fischer WOULDN'T be doing something like that. Never heard anything about Mark Hammil though.

Im almost positive that they wouldn't do it, but I still wish that a NJO TV series could occur and all the old actors take part in it.

Don't you just love wishfull thinking?
I think that there are just somethings that you cant make into film of TV like "the hobbit" or any of the NJO books so far they are all to ong. Plus the books have alot about the understanding of the force like how it works they also develop charcters more. If you were to make a film you couldnt include this. Plus how whould ou explain he change in some peoples characters. The most book likely ro become a film is the thrawn trilogy. The othes will hopefully stay as books.

I think it would be easy to make the NJO into a TV series. If anything you could have like two or three episodes per book, with maybe up to like 5 episodes for the big ones like SBS. It would be wonderful, and would be a hit because Star Wars is a phenomenon. They could make the Thrawn Trilogy into movies, but even that wouldn't be that good because I don't think they would be very effective at conveying Thrawn to be such a genius like the books do.
And if they can make the Lord of the Rings into such great movies, im sure they could do it with the Hobbit as well vodo bass.

Just get Peter Jackson to direct. He's good with turning books into movies.

It's a TV show though :-D
Anyhoo, I think the best thing to do is make it about the slightly minor characters and then see if Harrison and the rest wouldn't mind guesting on the show.

Peter Jackson would make a great series, as long as Lucas wasn't in direct control it should be good, we wouldn't want him to screw up this like he has the prequels.

Have you even seen Carrie Fisher lately?

In your opinion. They're his prequels, and he doesn't think there's anything drastically wrong about them, neither do I.

Harrison Ford was the main actor I was talking about, with maybe Mark Hamill. But today you can make anybody look descent so I think they could take care of making her look like a 45 year old Leia.
Your one of the few who think Lucas has done a good job with the prequels Bond.

I have read the Hobbit, it wouldn't be as good as LOTR, but it is definitely movie material, it could be done easily.

I would be affraid it'd ruin my outlook of the books. That always happens.

Its possible. but with a good director I think it could be done very well.

I think it went like this:
God asked a redhead, a brunette, and a blonde a question. If they answered truthfully, they would go to heaven. I don't remember the question, but each woman started their answer like this:
Redhead: "I think, blah, blah, blah"...and God said "correct!" and sent her to heaven.
Brunette: "I think, blah, blah, blah"...and God said "you are right" and sent her to heaven.
Blonde: "I think-"...and God sent her straight to hell for lying!

Here's the one clonewarseu was refering to:
In Las Vegas there's a nightclub that has a very special mirror in the ladies room. When you stand in front of this mirror and tell a lie the mirror swallows you.
A rather ugly woman stands in front of the mirror and says: '' I think I am the most beautiful woman in the whole world!''
SHUM! The mirror swallows her
Then a fat woman stands in front of it and says:’ I think I am the sexiest woman on earth!''
SHUM! The mirror swallows her.
Afterwards a very good looking-sexy blonde stands in front of the mirror and says:
''I think.''
SHUM!

To me, the magic SW lies in the movies, not a TV series. It would make it kind of sub-standard..
Sw didn't start out as a series , so it would be kind of...odd, unless a very good director did it, and it shouldn't be the kind of overbearing action we see in the movies. It would have to be interesting, but not boring. Star Trek often became boring and I tended to favour the movies because of that. I'm afraid of all the characters in SW becoming boring, because every week you see the Jedi in some grand action -Palpy becomes the constant evil factor and his schemes take no end...I just don't know...
Your jokes aren't bad, however!
