This thread is for observations of weird things you have noticed while watching Star Wars. This is not a thread in which to list "bloopers" or plot points that you feel don't make sense. But rather, those odd, distracting little moments or details that just seem strange or awkward and you aren't sure if others have caught them before, but you feel a need to point them out.

For example...

In ESB, during the scene where Luke is doing a headstand, he has a vision of his friends in pain, and falls down. Did you ever notice that when he sits up in the mud and says, "I saw a City in the Clouds..." He's got a big, goofy-looking dead leaf stuck in his hair. The tone of the scene becomes very ominous and moody... but the whole time he's talking to Yoda, there's this big old dead leaf hanging off the side of his head. It's not terribly noticeable, but once you catch it, it becomes impossible not to notice, and is very distracting. And it's not until he stands up, (after this heavy, emotional moment has passed) that you see him finally pull it off.

I've got a million more of these little things and I'm sure you do too.

In ROTJ, when they're in the woods, and Threepio says something too loudly, Leia puts her hand over his mouth to shut him up. Then she lets her hand linger on his metal chest! Arrrg!! shuddershudder... i have to look away at that part - -it just drives me crazy.

Nothin, but Ani never thought of anatomical correctness.

in a new hope i notice that the scene where luke and leia are running, it looked like one of leia's buns was coming un-done.
in empire strikes back where that scene in which leia is sitting down and shes thinking..when she turned around it looked like she was about to smash on the floor...

in return of the jedi where leia was tied to jabba by her neck...it looked almost like her bra was coming off.

one question....did carrie wear a bra in a new hope????

Because George Lucas insisted that there is no underwear in space.

^ Thats why GL is so good. lol

How about the 'Dam' that is said in ESB as Luke kicks Vader down a shaft. that bit always bugs me as i dont know who said it.

And when Luke meets Bib Fortuna, it sounds like he said Jabba the W****r.

How about Han Solo copping a feel in RotJ right after Leia is shot. It might have been unintentional on Ford's part, but once you see it, you can't help but notice it.

Or in AotC, when Padme regains consciousness after falling out of the transport on Geonosis, she gets up cautiously, and then all of a sudden she's back to full consciousness. Plus, she gained some sort of power, because she knows that Dooku was heading for a hanger. And not just a hanger, a specific hanger. "We've got to get to THAT hanger."

In ROTJ, when we see the close-up of the Emperor while he's tempting Luke to reach for his lightsaber. There is some discoloration on the edge of his hood - above his right eye. It looks like they tried to mark it out by hand frame by frame, because it keeps jumping around.

I've read that this was the result of a tiny lamp that was "hidden" inside the Emperor's hood, intended to highlight his eyes. It ended up being not as well-hidden as they would have liked and they had to mask over it with a black smudge on the actual film, frame by frame.

Well, um, Padme did fall into soft sand. I know that it was a high fall, but it was sand...:scratchchin:

You'd think that for all their film wizardry that they could have fixed it better. It looks like someone did it with a black magic marker. I find it to be quite distracting - at a very key moment in the film.

I had a friend once who was one of those ultra hardcore SW fans.... even more than I am... to such a degree that he had thought up "in-story" explanations for every single technical flaw in the films...

And his theory for that particular one was that the black smudge was supposed to be there - that it was actually a "little Dark Side spirit" which clung to the Emperor... and whispered secret knowledge about the Dark Side into the Emperor's ear...

I told my friend that was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard... but good for him if it made him feel better.

Heh, heh...not only that, but once they get to the hanger and see a ship flying out they immediately open fire on it. From their viewpoint, there was no way that they could've known who was in that ship and that it should've been fired upon.

While I'm still on AOTC, how about when Anakinand ObiWan get dropped off at that hanger. A few clone troopers exit the shuttle with them, but a droid fighter that is following opens fire and nails one of the clone troopers and he falls off the platform. A nice little touch, I always thought.

Not to mention that the gunboat they were on gets shot down right as it starts to pull away from the landing pad.
