Ok i have a major problem understanding the point to the character, Darth Nihilus who appears in KOTOR 2. Because he has no real relevance to the game or to the storyline.
Both Darth Sion and Darth Traya have relevance to the storyline and fit into quite well because they are needed to be there. Whereas Darth Nihilus just appears from nowhere, with no real meaning to the game and storyline and then is easily defeated.
He doesn't have any real relevance to Darth Krayt who finds his Holocron to which Krayt seeks Nihilus advice on how to stop the Yuuzhan Vong creatures from consuming his body. The only response he got from Nihilus was a statement in the Sith Lord's peculiar language, which his comrades didn't bother to translate.
Even the Latin meaning for his name sums up the character in just one simple word, Nothing.
So what was the point to this character because i really can't see why they created him?

Actually, he was Sions Master until his death over Telos, it was he who was leading the prge against the Jedi, it was he who destroyed worlds such as Katarr (along with the Jedi) and it was he who, if his hunger was not stopped, would eventually destroy the Galaxy. As for his appearance to Darth Krayt, that is also relevant, as Nihilus had contained himself in his armor and robes when the Mass Shadow Generator was unleashed on Malachor, and was able to live on (even though he was a wound in the Force). Krayt needed to know techniques like this, in order to stay alive.

actually, one of the SW visual guides confirms that Sion is Nihilus' apprentice. And the game mentions that Nihilus was a Malachor survivor. And the game mentions most of the other stuff in dialog with Kreia and Visas if you a) have enough influence w/ them, and b) ask them at the right times. As for the Krayt appearance of Lord Nihilus, logical deduction is the way to go.

I read this on Wookieepedia about Darth Sion:
seemed he had escaped to Malachor V (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Malachor_V), where he became the apprentice (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_Triumvirate) of Darth Traya (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kreia), a former teacher of Darth Revan when he was a Jedi.

take Wookiepedia with a grain of salt, as you always should. Sion didnt 'escape' to Malachor V so much as he would have moved on from the Korriban Academy's destruction to the next best Dark Side stronghold.

Recently on the other thread I realised that we can't be sure that Nihilus really died. because 1) Strange "dissolvement" of his body. - strange by itself, + why his armor disappeared too? = Looks like Eject.
2) There were no disturbance in the force after his defeat. In case of his death there definitely should be huge one.
Personally I think Nihilus is the most powerful creature ever to be in the faraway galaxy. Well there is Jedi Exile also. Thats due to the nature of the Force Hole within them. But that is the themes to discuss in other threads.
It is good to know that it is not a problem for any author to resurrect him at least as a spirit due to mysterious final of his story. He is enemy to everyone - Jedi or Sith, he is enemy to any and all Life. But it sure will be a problem to defeat him again.
