It'll be done for the "holidays". End of November for the U.S. and Xmas for the rest of the world. This is the big calender date for any publisher, regardless of the state of the game (patches anyone?). End of the fiscal year (Q4) and traditionally the biggest sales yield for computer games. Missing this window is not an option. Stability of stocks are dependent on the publishers forecasts and if they are not close to the forecasts than trust is lost and shares are sold. This title must sell in this fiscal year or LucasArts will be in trouble, regardless of whether it is a PLC. A good indication will be if the CEO resigns early. If he resigns then the flagship product will be delivered late.
I've said it before, LucasArts don't show their hand until the end of the game. The tech side is finished (we've seen it), they've had a good few months to develop level design. Another year should give them time to develop something really special.

Darth Darthy

That's the start of the U.S. holiday season, not the rest of the world. And we all know how accurate release dates are. I don't really care as long as it's actually good.

Same here, the force unleashed, what a stupid tittle and actually Jedi power battles was a better tittle in my opinion.

Right, in the force unleashed you are an apprentice to lord vader. Your ship is called the rouges shadow and you have to ''take out'' jedi (such as, Shaak ti, master kota, maris brood.) You are dating your pilot called Juno Eclipse. The best looking creature looks like the bull rancor and the felucians look crazy. Lucas arts are talking about making action figures and stuff.
Using the Euphoria Engine to run the game, The stormtroopers will NOT be push arounds. If you kill a whole squad but one, that one will fire his blaster into the air, trip over his feet, and beg sometimes (Amusing to such a dark mind!) Wood will splinter, metal bend and glass shatter as you pull dark power after dark power out of the bag.And no more unimaginitive moves as force choke. Now you can (supposedly) break Ribs one by one and create a ''bubble'' to fry stormtroopers.
Kota was a Judge on manaan, decades before the Great sith war, and Maris Brood is a jedi whoose lightsaber variant is modelled on the nightstick truncheons of US cops, featuring a perpendicular handle for twirling! Watch this space!
Sweet! :w00t: :yeah: :drooly:
Gamers arise, the best game ever!!!:joystick:

Darth Darthy
03-10-2007, 04:35 AM
I'm gonna go for a '08 holiday release. Just a guess, but that's a hell of a delay considering it was announced less than a month ago. I think someone actually had the balls to tell Jim Ward that they actually needed a product to sit on top of this technology.
This game might actually be playable! :)

In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
Heaven help us. Felucians???

I agree that the title leaves something to be desired. I had hoped that it was just a working title of some sort and more appropriate name would be chosen later.
The game looks like it could really bring a true Star Wars experience to the player as well as change the way games are made and played if they can accomplish all they seem to intend with the new technologies.
Either way, we may finally get the level of Jedi action we have craved for ever since the idea of swinging a lightsaber and Force powers of our own entered our thoughts.
Hopefully the game's story will be compelling and the game doesn't become some excercise in Force power spamming in really well generated environments.

The last 3/4 of that trailer were really really cool, like unleashing a wave of the Force to knock back everyone, but cmon...pulling down a Star Destroyer? While it most definitely LOOKS awesome, it seems far-fetched. Yoda had enough trouble pulling out the X-wing, can we really believe that Vader, who is mostly mechanical, can pull down a Star Destroyer and be ready for a fight immediately afterwards? Sorry to rain on the parade everybody, but that seems pretty implausible to me
Also, that had the worst video quality I've seen in a long time. Get a clue, Yahoo.

That was the only thing that I found stupid and hopefully it's not gonna be part of the game, plus the actual scale of the whole thing was just horrible.

Official Site has the video up as well, better quality I think: http://www.starwars.com/video/view/000519.html
Sure the Force powers are totally overblown, totally Unleashed in fact, but it still looks cool and will surely be a fun time playing. However as Lucas is involved with making this game it will most likely be canon, and that can make the Force powers here seem a bit odd.
As for the plot, why do Darth Vader's Apprentice fight Stormtroopers and other Imps exclusively? I know he is a secret apprentice and his existence must not get to Palps attention, so he has to kill Imps from reporting him to Palpatine, but in this trailer he isn't as much covering his existence then going Rambo on every Imp he see.

The Force powers look cooler and cooler every video we see
The Euphoria behavioral engine looks f**king brilliant.

(edit: image links are bugged because they need to be clicked on from original site)
If you need more proof that video games are reaching the same league as movies these days, just take a look at Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, the upcoming action game from LucasArts. The Force Unleashed will get almost the same full treatment as a movie, given that it will be supported by a wide variety of ancillary products, including a novel, action figures, a miniatures line, a comic book, and more. However, at the heart of all this is a game that will let you play as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, a budding and powerful young Sith tasked with hunting down the last of the Jedi knights. LucasArts finally unveiled the gameplay to us recently, and this is looking like one of the most exciting--and easily the most beautiful--Star Wars games ever.
The Force Unleashed will fill in a lost chapter in the Star Wars saga: basically, what happens between Episode III and Episode IV? This is a period when the Jedi were scattered and hunted down, the Galactic Empire consolidated its hold on the galaxy, and apparently Darth Vader was secretly grooming an apprentice to help him one day overthrow the Emperor. You'll play as that apprentice and go on missions for Lord Vader, but your existence must be kept a secret, so this will give you an opportunity to battle rebels, Jedis, and any unlucky Imperials who happen to get a glimpse of you. The developers consulted heavily with George Lucas on the story and characters, to the point that what happens in The Force Unleashed is now considered Star Wars canon.
If the goal of The Force Unleashed is to make you feel like an incredibly lethal killing machine, then it looks as if the designers have accomplished that. The first level shown to us has the apprentice running through a TIE Fighter assembly station, which a rogue Jedi has taken over. The apprentice let loose with a variety of powerful Force powers and lightsaber moves to dispatch the enemy. Force push doesn't just knock an enemy back; it can hurl a group of enemies through the air, as if they've been hit by an explosion.
Then there's Force grip, which lets you grab someone or something and dangle it in the air. This is a great demonstration for the game's Euphoria technology, which is available only in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. Euphoria basically gives all enemies self-preservation instincts, so they'll act and behave as if they want to stay alive. If you dangle someone in the air, they'll try to grab something--anything--for dear life. This isn't a scripted movement, but it's all completely procedural and dynamic. Moving on to more powers, there's good old Force lightning, but instead of simply being able to zap bad guys, you can also infuse your lightsaber with lightning to make it more powerful. Later on in the game, you can use lightning and Force grip to create living bombs. Just pick up an enemy using grip, charge him with lightning, and then hurl him at a target to create an explosion.
http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2008/024/reviews/933156_20080125_embed001.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:open_image_viewer%28%27933156%27,%271%27,%276 185151%27,%272008/024/reviews/933156_20080125_embed001.jpg%27,%27You%2Bare%2BDar th%2BVader%2527s%2Bsecret%2Bapprentice.%2BHave%2Bf un%2Bwith%2Bthat.%27,%27%27%29;)
You are Darth Vader's secret apprentice. Have fun with that. (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:open_image_viewer%28%27933156%27,%271%27,%276 185151%27,%272008/024/reviews/933156_20080125_embed001.jpg%27,%27You%2Bare%2BDar th%2BVader%2527s%2Bsecret%2Bapprentice.%2BHave%2Bf un%2Bwith%2Bthat.%27,%27%27%29;)
One of the ideas in the game is to let you be as creative as possible when it comes to combat. You're not just slashing at enemies and toying with them using your Force powers. There's a fair amount of environmental interaction in the game. Most levels will have a mechanism of some sort that will provide you with a steady supply of objects that you can manipulate. For instance, in the TIE Fighter factory, fresh TIE Fighters come off of the assembly line. You can then use your Force powers to grab them and hurl them in someone's faces; or, even cooler, use grip to hurl someone into the path of an oncoming TIE Fighter. On a junkyard world, magnetic lanes keep a steady supply of junk flying overhead. On that same level, you might need to use lightning to power up engine turbines, which will then fly off and smash into objects. Execute a cool kill and the game will switch to a payoff camera that gives you a cinematic view of the action.
There will also be environmental destruction, thanks to the game's Digital Molecular Materials system. Basically, this means that objects will behave like you'd expect. If you use Force powers to bash in a metal door, the metal bends procedurally. (One neat thing is that you can bash a door open, go through it, and then use Force powers to bash it closed, thus preventing enemies from following you.) If you use those same powers against organic material, such as giant alien mushrooms, they'll bend but won't break, creating a cool swaying motion. Meanwhile, glass will shatter, whereas wood will splinter, and so on.
The next stop on our demonstration was the planet Felucia, which was briefly seen in Episode III. This is the alien world full of giant purple mushrooms, as well as inhabitants that are Force aware. This means that they're not only resistant to Force powers, but some of them may also have powers of their own. Then there are the giant rancors, the two-legged monsters of Star Wars, one of which was seen in Return of the Jedi. Battling the rancor will require you to use those lightning bombs previously mentioned, but if you whittle away at its health enough, you can perform one of many vicious kill moves, which range from jumping atop its head and stabbing down through its skull with your saber to just hurling your saber through its eye. (When it opens its mouth to scream, you can see the blade jutting into its throat.)

The final level that we were shown was Raxis Prime, the junkyard world. The entire opening of the level is pretty dramatic once you realize that you're standing atop a crashed Star Destroyer; if you look down off of the ledge, you'll see the distinctive, buckyball-shaped shield generators on the bridge superstructure. The goal on Raxis Prime is to take out a Jedi Master named Kazdan (which is not a reference to Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan). The trick is that Kazdan has created Force golems, which are basically Force-animated constructions that are highly resistant to your powers. The battle with Kazdan himself will be a challenge.
Although it sounds as if you're going to be a complete and total badass throughout the game, the designers say that the theme of The Force Unleashed is that of redemption. Does that mean the secret apprentice will discover the error of his ways and change sides? We'll see. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out, and how his relationships with the other characters in the game change. For instance, there's Juno Eclipse, an Imperial pilot who serves as the apprentice's pilot aboard the Rogue Shadow. She's also the love interest. The apprentice is voiced by Sam Witwer, who was seen in The Mist, Dexter, and Battlestar Galactica (in which he played the pilot Crashdown). Eclipse is voiced by English actress Nathalie Cox.
The Force Unleashed will ship for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but other versions are also planned for the Wii, PSP, Nintendo DS, and PS2. Though the underlying stories will be the same across all platforms, there will be differences between most of them, as well as unique content designed for the platform. The PSP version will feature historical battles from the movies, whereas the Wii version will have some levels that aren't in the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions. In the Wii version, we saw a Jedi temple level, but more importantly, LucasArts demonstrated how the Wii Remote is used for lightsaber attacks while the Nunchuk is used for Force powers. The designers also showed off duel mode, which is a head-to-head battle where two players can pummel one another using Force powers. Duel mode will have nine arenas and plenty of unlockable characters, and the goal is to kill your opponent three out of five times. It can make for a fairly wild battle, considering that players can kick in temporary invulnerability, or use a Force unleashed boost to double their Force powers. A timer runs down throughout the entire affair, and if it ends, the game goes into sudden-death overtime.

All the versions of the game we saw look spectacular. The Wii version obviously doesn't look anywhere as good as the PS3 or Xbox 360 games, but compared to other games on the platform, it still looks busy and fluid. LucasArts showed off the Xbox 360 game during the demonstration, and it's easily one of the best-looking 360 games that we've seen. The colors and visuals are just bright and sharp and eye-catching, and the level of detail is extremely high.
Unfortunately, LucasArts wouldn't discuss multiplayer for the 360 or PS3, but there's still plenty of time before the game arrives, so we expect more updates in the near future. The Force Unleashed will ship for all platforms simultaneously sometime this summer, and this is definitely one game that you should keep an eye on.

The story sounds interesting. The website pretty much gives the basic plot away...
You're a secret Sith Apprentice of Darth Vader's and your final test is to hunt down a Jedi called General Rahm Kota and along the way, run into Jedi wannabe Maris Brood and Jedi Shaak Ti. Your companions are a droid called "Proxy" and your Imperial Officer/Pilot Juno Eclipse - a chick that looks like she's from the Lesbian Nazi League. You might fight Vader at the end depending on your choices. Vader wins, you die regardless because you were never in Episode 4, 5 and 6. The End.

On sale now is GamePro magazine's May 2008 issue, which features a cover story on The Force Unleashed. You'll find your standard descriptions of the game play, but this is also a Wii-centric article. There's the breakdown on the 27 different characters you can play in Duel Mode, including the double-bladed lightsaber wielding Darth Phobos, a punk looking female alien with big 80's hair, Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and about eleven different versions of the Secret Apprentice.
The article also shows the various ways the Force can be controlled with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, as well as side by side comparison screens of the Wii and XBox 360 versions. They admit the 360 version will look better, but the Wii has the advantage with the controllers. The article then focuses on the multiplayer advantage of the Xbox and PS3 versions.

It's not a put-down unless you work for Spike TV.
The Spike TV footage (Vader gameplay) of The Force Unleashed is available at the official site, under Media Gallery and then Web Docs/Videos.

The Secret Apprentice for the game will be called 'Starkiller'.
The reason there will not be a PC version:
For us, ultimately it was... technologies like Pixelux, DMM (Digital Molecular Matter) and Euphoria are so processor intensive and powerful that the kind of machine you'd need to run them is not the kind of machine most people are going to have. It's such an advanced spec that we feel we really needed to do it justice. If we pulled that stuff out and delivered a sub-par experience...
We also felt that was a wrong approach as people are going to miss out on this. We didn't want to do it [the PC version] half-way. Every platform is getting a great game and they should all be able to stand-alone; we didn't want to deliver a sub-par experience for PC gamers.

Lack of honesty there. I can understand they don't want to upset PC publishers but let's be honest here - piracy has destroyed the PC market and that's the reason it's not out on that platform.

A Hands on by IGN (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/885/885629p1.html):
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/823/823667.html) has long held promises of grand technology that would help bring the Star Wars universe, and indeed the Force, to gamers like we've never seen before. I'd seen the game a number of times at various presentations, but without having actually played the game myself, I was always wondering whether the technology would hold up and offer gamers something more than a tech demo. After playing through a few levels of The Force Unleashed last week, it appears that LucasArts may indeed deliver on its promise and give us a new look at the Force like we've never experienced.
Though Vader's secret apprentice will serve as your persona throughout the bulk of the game, you begin The Force Unleashed as the Sith Lord himself on a mission to Kashyyyk in search of a rogue Jedi. At this point in the Star Wars timeline, situated between episodes III and IV, Vader has taken it upon himself to scour the universe and wipe out the remaining Jedi, and his prey at the start of the game has taken up residence on the Wookiee home world.
Vader is a badass, and a badass never runs. Indeed, Vader's assault through the treetop huts and bridges of Kashyyyk is slow and paced, with him walking confidently as his cape blows behind him, but also incredibly deadly. Though Vader's lightsaber makes quick work of the Wookiee soldiers, it's his Force powers that make him unstoppable. Lifting enemies into the air with a Force grab is immensely rewarding and offers you plenty of options. You can toss enemies off the side of a bridge to the ground below, slam them into a tree or other object, or toss them into other furry soldiers. Or should you wish to make an example of a particular Wookiee, you can lift him up, impale him with your lightsaber, and then throw his body into whatever happens to be the nearest and hardest object.
From the start, it's immediately evident that the control setup is put together in a way that allows you work with both your lightsaber and Force powers in a very smooth and cohesive manner. Two face buttons work your saber with quick and heavy attacks, while another unleashes a Force push, which is an incredibly effective way of finishing off a lightsaber combo. The right trigger makes use of the Force grab (releasing it then uses Force push), while the left trigger acts as a modifier for Force powers. For example, holding the left trigger while enacting a Force push will unleash an area push, shoving everything around you away from you, while using the left trigger with a lightsaber attack button will perform a lightsaber throw.
http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/885/885619/star-wars-the-force-unleashed-20080701023756471-000.jpg (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/823/823667/img_5678620.html)
Even layers of fur can't help you.
The cool bit about the lightsaber combat system is that while you can quickly mash on buttons to dispose of an enemy, steady and timed presses will reward you with better combos. It's an interesting system that isn't apparent at the start, but once you start experimenting with it, you'll wind up finishing off enemies with a few more twists and slashes from your trusty saber.
Running (or, that is, walking) around Kashyyyk and killing everyone in sight gives you a good glimpse at the euphoria and DMM technology in the game. Throwing a Wookiee into a large tree will crack and splinter it, with successive tosses of hapless furballs eventually break the mass free from its roots and topple it over, which takes out anything that happens to be below it. Boxes, barricades and other bits of cover can be Force grabbed or pushed and tossed out of the way.
In the context of Kashyyyk, some of the physics here look a little floaty at this point. Trees and other large masses don't seem to fall and react to the ground a whole lot differently than lighter objects, making them appear a little more bouncy than they probably should be. However, once you're past Kashyyyk and make your way into the TIE fighter factory (the game's second level), things look and feel a little better in terms of their surroundings.
Attempting to remain as spoiler-free as possible, we'll just say that Kashyyyk ends with Vader meeting the soon-to-be apprentice for the first time. The way the story is set up makes a whole lot of sense in the scheme of things, and the beginning at least ties very nicely into the Star Wars universe. In other words, it makes perfect sense that Vader would pick this guy to be his apprentice, and their meeting paves the way for the secret apprentice's rather downtrodden look and demeanor that we've seen in the trailers and such.
Skipping ahead a bit in time until the apprentice has learned the ropes and Vader has been sending him out on assassination missions for some time, the second level gives you full reign over the secret apprentice in a TIE fighter factory. General Kota, one of the few surviving Jedi in the galaxy, has been spotted at the factory, so Vader sends his apprentice to dispatch the usually underground Jedi.
The secret apprentice is, well, a secret, and Vader instructs him to allow no one to know of his presence. That doesn't mean he's supposed to pull a Solid Snake and go unseen, but rather to kill everyone in sight and leave no witnesses, stormtrooper or otherwise.
This sets up an interesting mix in that the stormtroopers and other Imperial soldiers will be fighting against the Rebel alliance in many spots of the game, but you're essentially on neither side. So when you enter a new area, you can let the two sides fight things out amongst themselves for a while if you wish and then swoop in to finish off the remains. This is evidenced in one section where you have to fight an AT-ST that's in the midst of pummeling some heavily armed Rebel scum when you come upon it. You can jump right into the action, but then you'll have to deal with both the AT-ST and the Rebels at once. Letting them fight for a few moments first will not only weaken the soldier count but will also pit you against a weakened AT-ST.
http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/885/885619/star-wars-the-force-unleashed-20080701023759127-000.jpg (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/823/823667/img_5678614.html)
The secret apprentice's powers are strong, if not entirely precise.
The bulk of the TIE fighter factory has you running through and fighting in giant hangers with soldiers everywhere. Sequences like this serve to quickly show off the differences between Vader and the apprentice. While Vader was extremely powerful but slow, the apprentice is extremely quick but without quite as many tricks up his sleeve. Tapping a shoulder button has him perform a quick charge, which is useful even in the air to immediately close in on enemies to take them out before they can hit you with a barrage of laser fire.
While the apprentice doesn't start with as many powers as Vader, his abilities can be upgraded over the course of the game. You'll earn Force Points for killing enemies, with more points coming for inventive kills. Force Points work to gain you new levels, and each new level gives you a certain number of skill points that you can use to upgrade your move set, Force powers and overall skills like your maximum health or Force recharge time. Along with these skills, you can also upgrade your lightsaber by collecting various crystals in the game that change not only the color of your blade but its abilities as well.
As you'd expect, the TIE fighter factory ends with a boss battle against General Kota. While the main games uses a standard following camera situated behind your character, boss fights will use an "arena cam" that's set at a fixed point and will follow you and zoom in when you get close to the boss. It sounds odd, but it works in that it allows you to make better use of your environment and to track the boss' movements when you're moving away from him (or it).
The fight against Kota is fairly awesome in that you start out fighting in what looks like a cross between a control room and an observatory that overlooks the planet below. There are windows running on the outside of the room and on the ceiling, with a handful of platforms in the room. After fighting for a bit, Kota steps back and acknowledges that you're more powerful than he expected but that you won't catch him. He then proceeds to use the Force to dislodge the entire room from the factory, sending it hurling into the planet's atmosphere upside down. You're now fighting on what was the roof and can see the planet rushing up to you below. As you begin to enter the planet's atmosphere, the floor begins to heat up and melt, and you're forced to take higher ground to finish the fight. Were this scene in one of the prequels, it almost certainly would have been the highlight of the three films.
One of the most satisfying aspects of the Force Unleashed is how well the Force powers and combat work together, and how quickly you can tear up an area by combining all of your abilities. If troops are taking cover behind something, you can Force grip it and yank their cover away from them or Force push it and knock them all out in one blow. One thing that could still use a little work at this point however is the targeting system for Force grip (or even Force push, for that matter). Because there can be a ton of objects around at any given time, and Force grip only grabs one object at a time, you'll need to be careful to hone in on exactly what it is that you want to grab. More than once, I found myself grabbing a random object when I meant to grab a soldier. It got easier as my time with the game went on; I just relied more on the chaos factor than pure precision (which apparently plays into the apprentice's raw but unrefined power anyway).
http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/885/885619/star-wars-the-force-unleashed-20080701023809768-000.jpg (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/823/823667/img_5678618.html)
You'll be able to gain powers like Force lightning later in the game.
The Force Unleashed is looking really solid at this point and should do well to give players a cool Star Wars sandbox to run around and destroy stuff in. The game is set for release on September 16th.

I'm a bit unsure myself. Usually when a novelis released alongside a game, it doesn't span over the same events. But it seems to me that the novel will do just that (compare it to Mass Effect, where the novel took place 20 years before the game).
Also, notice how the comc TPB is released Augst 18th, the novel August 19th and the game Septermber 16th. Seems like they want us to read the stuff first...

I really can’t say just how badly I want to get my hands on The Force Unleashed again. Never before has a Star Wars game felt so absolutely empowering in such an easy way. Combat is fast, environments are slick and destructive, cutscene direction is top-notch--we’re talking about a real AAA title that will keep players hooked. And just in case you weren’t convinced (I don’t have to tell you this, but it may clinch your preorder), The Force Unleashed features a lightsaber creation mechanic… and you’ll be able to make a black lightsaber! Well, they say the technology used to make it so top-notch (Digital Moleculer Matter, Euphoria, Havok Physics) is simply too much for PC, and can only be played on next-gen consoles.
*sigh* Doesn't make me any happier, though. The graphics, the combat, the characters, the graphics, the timeline, the storyline, the graphics, the force powers, the music!!! And did I mention graphics?! I'm almost certain this will beat the pants off any other SW game EVER made.

Well when I get a Wii (I am really hoping to by the end of the year) you can come over and we'll take turns playing it... although I suspect that whoever gets the first "shift" will quickly become inseparable from the Wiimotes... so it will probably end up being you playing it and me watching, tied up with duct tape around my mouth on the floor (which is obviously how I ended up after I tried to take the control from you) ;)

Yeah, I wonder about that myself. Who knows, maybe it's true, but they just don't want to spend the time or money to MAKE it work on a PC. Or there's some other hidden agenda... a conspiracy to get everyone to buy next-gen consoles!

I don't mean to appear like an arrogant arse, but for a moment I shall pretend I have a large, burly mustache. In case you hadn't noticed - this game was developed on a PC using DirectX9. It works PERFECTLY fine on a Windows compatible PC. The Xbox360 IS a PC! And at today's current development levels it's a mediocre PC at best. For the last time, it's not coming out on the PC for at least a year due to piracy issues.
It's a PRODUCT. It needs to generate money and this is the best way to do it. It's called business and as far as printing Star Wars dollars goes, LucasArts have it down.

Pretty much what happened the other night when I tried to write an audio script and watch Raiders of the Lost Ark at the same time. It took me 2 hours to write 5 pages!!

New vid where the developer talk a lot of stuff we already know, but we also got a playthrough fo the first level in the background: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36526.html
Interesting with the mana and health orbs, just like all other hack and slash games. Also, I hope that was some kind of Very Easy mode or something, notice the Imperial dude standing next to Starkiller for what seems like ages (15 sec or so), while Starkiller levitates another Imperial, without doing anything.

Looks exactly how they previewed that E3 08'. I heard there was to be a Wii version of some sort, or was that another game..

There is a TFU coming out for the Wii. Man! I'm really annoyed; I was up late lastnight watching the second-play of E3 that runs from 2:00AM to 4:00AM, and I made it until 3:30AM and then fell asleep; and wouldn't you know, the next half-hour contained a review of TFU! :banghead:
Oh well... at least I got to see the preview for the new Prince of Persia game, which just looks out of this world. I also think that's such an interesting idea that they're just sort of starting it over again with a new prince and new stories, a la James Bond style.

*sigh* Yes, this game on Wii will rock. Especially if the game uses the new accelerometer for the Wii remote so it can actually, you know, detect movement as opposed to just position.
But, and this kills me, it really does...
Playing the watered-down Wii version is a crime. This game on PS3 or at least 360 looks so good I might have to sacrifice groceries next month to buy one for it.

Looks like an on-the-rails game with a touch screen. Guess it's good for the iPhone though.

"There's a couple of big twists and turns in the story," said Blackman. "One revelation in particular really impacts the rest of the saga as a whole. It goes way beyond filling in gaps. We try to make a bridge on every level. The story has a real implications on 'Episode IV.' In some ways, without the apprentice, 'Episode IV' couldn't happen."I wish I hadn't read that. Dangit. Dangit, dangit, dangit. Now I'm about to keel over because I'm so curious! :worried:

Well, things are looking up. Looking at my money records, I may actually be able to get a Wii by the end of the month! YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
Of course... this all depends on whether I can actually find one. It's one thing the have the money... it's another thing to find the actual console in a store....
Well, Magnus, you're welcome to join Em and I when A) I get a Wii and B) I get TFU :D

I've also started looking at consoles, but I'm not sure yet whether it'll be a Wii or X-Box 360... I love the Mario-games, and that speaks for Wii, but X-Box has better graphics... Tough choices...

Get both! Like I have.
I would suggest getting the 360 for the great graphics and huge library of good games, they also rule the online bit for the console market, with demos u can Download, stability of playing online etc. And I really think ti would be the better choice for TFU.
But also, a Wii has some amazing games, Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime III, Super Smash Bros Brawl, possibly Mario Kart Wii, and soon TFU. But when it comes to other games, there aren't many good, and the online part is just terrible.

I'm gonna have to go without something for a month or two anyway, just to be able to afford one of them. But my bro only lives a few miles away, so if we got 1 gaming system each, we could swap every month or so.

You can download demos on the PS3 and it's stable playing online, I've never had a problem.
XBOX is the only system(and I've had them all) that I had to spend $80 on to have it repaired after two years of ownership.
Damn that red ring of death.

Yeah but as far as I know it was a question between a 360 and a Wii, thus I totaly excluded the PS3. And here in Scandinavia, we can basicly buy two 360's for the price of one PS3, so I assume Maggy won't get a PS3.

Ok I just checked, I exagerated a bit. It seems that I can buy 1.9 360's for the price of one PS3. Going by the standard price of 2199 NOK for one 360 (that's with HDAV, 20GB hardisk etc), and 4199 NOK for a PS3 (the 40GB version, dunno if that one has backwardscompatability or not).
