That's what I figured. It's just a matter of when he told her.

Could've happened at any time. Probably after she (L) became a Senator / joined the Alliance. Of course, Bail Organa was not in favor of taking up arms against the Empire and Leia was. (That's my understanding of that situation, anyway.) In which case - perhaps Mon Mothma told her? But that would require Bail to have told Mon Mothma, and it's really more parsimonious to assume that Bail just told Leia.

Also a possibility is that when they were on the run with the plans, she contacted her father and mentioned they were near Tatooine, and probably wouldn't make it, and he told her about Obi-Wan. Though in a quick message it doesn't seem like he'd have told her about the Clone Wars association.

Yeah... that doesn't seem likely to me. I think he told her before the Tantive IV was captured. I don't think it was a coincidence that they were near Tatooine, but rather, the plan all along that the plans would be delivered to Obi-Wan, and that Leia would try to convince him to join the Rebellion (in person, but that didn't work out).

No - actually, they were on their way to Tatooine in the first place - that was their intended destination. It's unclear if Obi-Wan knew about it, but Leia was on a top secret mission to Tatooine to pick up Obi Wan and recruit him into the Rebellion.

That's why in her hologram message she said: "My ship has fallen under attack, and my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed."
