In What Order Do You Like Watching the Saga in.

Title should have read as follows: In which order do you like watching the saga?

I'm new hear so this may have already been asked, I looked but couldn't find a similar thread.

OK. I rescently watched the SW Saga with my wife and this is the order I suggested to her we watch it.

1. ANH
2. ESB
3. TPM
4. AOTC
5. ROTS
6. ROTJ

My reasoning was you watch ANH and ESB at which point we find out the ugly secret about Darth Vader. The you go back and watch how Vader became a Jedi and fell to the darkside. (Think of this like a huge 3 film flashback.) The you see Vader redemption.

My wife had seen the saga only once before and we watched it in the order it was released. She found it to have more impact this way and so do I.

In which order do you like watching the saga?

I've heard that's a great way to watch it, too. I haven't tried it myself, but I think that's a great suggestion for someone who loves the movies to introduce someone who isn't really familiar, or completely in the dark.

I have only done a session where I watched episodes I - VI in order and I really loved it. Mind you I have effectively watched them many times in the order of the OT then the PT. I'd like to try your method though, sounds interesting.

I like watching them IV, V, VI, I, II, III, because um...I don't know! I just do. Maybe because the OT are my favourite so I watch them first...

Actually, when Lily and I had our sagathon, I admit we skipped the Geonosis bit because it was really boring!

I like that. I might have to try it once I've got the sagathon under my belt.

It's kind of like the Narnia books. 2 through 6, then a jump back to 1, then jump forward to 7.

I think the best way is just going 1 to 6 in order.

Well, I've only ever done the saga once and it was I-VI. I didn't have a choice in the matter as it was airing on Cinemax in that order. If I had to choose, though, I might try your method Galileo, that sounds good.
Let me ask, though, how did you get the wife to join you? Mrs. Rollafett would probably prefer to be strapped to a chair and be beaten with hammers than watch all six films in a row.

Well, I quite like to watch the Original Trilogy first (ANH, then TESB, then ROTJ) and then proceed to watch TPM, AOTC and finally ROTS. I find it interesting to watch the saga in the order from the first of the movies made to the last because it's interesting and fun to see how the technology becomes more and more advanced. However, I also like watching all the movies in order.
You method also sounds very interesting by the way, I'm looking forward to trying it.

I prefer watching ANH, TESB, and ROTJ first, then the other three. I get much more attached to Luke and Leia, and seeing them as babies just... *cries*
