I agree Padme should not have married Anakin, Padme should have married Obi-Wan Kenobi. And Palpatine may be a stupid old guy but he must be a little smart to become Emperor in Episode III.

And I liked him even less when I was a kid (17) first watching TPM. Weird. I feel bad for Ahmed Best too. Well, at least he had a really cool part in the bar scene in AotC. *g*

And I fully agree with PadmeAmidalaNaberrie and with Shoma--Ani shouldn't become a Jedi, but he SHOULD be given a balloon. He'd probably just pop it and storm away though.

Hmm, Anakin DOES need some sort of anger management classes, or therapy. I really don't see how Padmé could have fallen in love with him, since he is angry all the time...

It was obvious watching TPM that Jar Jar would have a more important role in the saga than just to make viewers grind their teeth at the mere thought of him. In TPM his purpose was to serve as the bridge that would join the Nabooians and the Gungans for their final confrontation with the TF. In AOTC his whole point of being there, and if you think about it he actually is one of the key characters in the saga, as well as the movie, is to be coerced into believing that by granting Palpatine emergency powers to invoke the use of the clones, he will be perceived as brave and will gain respect throughout the Senate. Notice in the movie when people are cheering after he has his say, he smiles and gets a look of satisfaction because he thought he had done the right thing that no one else had the courage to do. He had no way of knowing what catastrophic events were to come of his doings. Without him giving Palpatine the authority to use the clones, then the bill may not have passed the vote and the clones may never have been brought into use. Then, inevitably, there would be no stormtroopers in any movie. Now that he has served his point of being, he is free to die, or most likely be killed, in Episode III.

I agree Padme shouldn't have married Anakin...but no Padme+Anakin...no Luke or Leia...no OT so that is the only reason I am thanking GL for the marrage of Anakin and Padme. Don't worry I'm a teen and I hate JAR JAR!

I think Padme should have married Anakin because that's a big part of the Star Wars universe, but GL could have made him a little happier. I mean if I were Padme and heard him talk about killing the Tusken Raiders, he would have scared me a little bit.
