Wind swept desolation met the mind’s eye no matter which way the black furred Wookie cast her force senses. There were plenty of life forms out there, no intelligent life forms, unless you counted the Jedi refugees. Sometimes she found it difficult to justify counting herself and the other Jedi as intelligent, all things considered.

Two kilometers below the simple little village serving as home of the Jedi lay scattered among the trees dotting the oasis. Roughly five square kilometers of a tough grass and stunted thorny fruit trees surrounding a deep spring with a pool just a hair to small to be called a lake. A couple dozen prefab housing units with a handful of others serving as public mess halls, a med center, machine shop and even a temple. No one called the cramped utilitarian building a temple, of course, but it served much the same purpose and the lofty tower on Coruscant had. A place for Jedi to gather, share wisdoms gained through the force, and experience while trying to guide the Jedi and the galaxy. A place of teaching and learning, though the number of new Padawan learners was on the decrease. No doubt a direct result of their fall from the grace and grandure of Coruscant, not to mention severly limited rescources.

Rowangriwo let out a snort shaking her head. The Jedi were doing well to feed themselves these days. They had a few allies among the Republic, some supplies trickled in, but by and large the small community was living off the land. Fresh meat wasn’t a problem, and there were even fish in the pond. Almost all the plants in the oasis were eatable, as was some of the sparse vegetation of the desert surrounding them near the lower pole of Ultar IV.

Longing for the towering trees and clouds of her home world the leader of the Jedi refugees reflected on the words of the fallen Master Talla Rath. “To be humble to superiors is duty; to equals courtesy; to inferiors noble; and to all safety.” Rowangriwo did not believe the Jedi as an Order, could have a home anymore humble than this outpost on the edge of the unknown regions. A furry-clawed hand dipped into the pouch on her bandolier to gently pluck out a piece of fruity candy from Naboo. Her huge hands delicately unwrapped the tasty treat; popping the candy into her mouth she crumbled the wrapper and stuck it back in the pouch. Savoring the sweet spicy flavor she let the candy dissolve in her mouth instead of chewing up.

The shaggy Wookie leaned back against the warm hard stone high on the ridge over looking the oasis. Eyes that were incapable of seeing in the visible spectrum looked out over the sand and stone wasteland surround her. Breathing slow and deep she nudges thoughts from her mind one by one until she is at peace. The Jedi leader opens herself to the Force allowing it to fill her, to carry her consciousness into the cosmos.

Victory and defeat. Joy, happiness, love, fear, hatred, hopeless. Births and deaths. Tiny threads of emotions from the billions of beings going through the cycle of life. A texture of change pervaded all of it, which was somewhat understandable. Life was change, evolution, from the first breath until the last a being was in a constant state of change.

This felt different though, reminding her of her premonitions of exile. Big changes were in the air. Seeking without hunting Rowangriwo opened herself fully relying on the force to provide guidance. For some time she caught glimpses of strangers, impressions of ambitions and dreams, with the usual mix of light and dark side goals. Echoing down the endless tunnel of time bits and pieces of the old Skywalker prophecy came to her mind.

As they begin, the wheel will spin.
Pursuit will spell more speed.
A blur of changes will unfold
where little may be seen

A dark hawk with purple talons and a large shadow. A dancing Twi’lek, the bearded redeemer. Visions, impressions really, of some of the more outstanding Jedi came to her mind. The force seemed to say ‘these will be key to change’. There were no words, images, feelings, and emotions, the ambiance interpreted so that she could add a face to each. Healing hands protected by a shield of dark cynicism. A Skywalker and the calm champion. A wounded flier.

But there is hope; the wheel may slow,
instead of war and doom.
Slow to still, changing form,
into light, or lightness torn.
But before such change is born,
calm will trail the passing storm,
and peace will start to bloom.

When the Jedi Master came back to the present she was startled to notice the sun had gone down, there was no heat beating down on her from above. Shaking her head she thought she must have spent over three hours meditating. She reflected on the vision, curious that she’d not sensed a single Master among the keys. Then again, she and the other Masters had not been able to keep them from being exiled. Perhaps it was fitting the new generation of Jedi be the hands of change, of redemption or complete destruction.

Footpads that needed no guidance confidently retraced her steps back down the path from her perch on the ridge. The smell of dinner was carried to her sensitive snout as she reached the grass covered ground. Spots of light in her mind’s eye showed her where people were around her. In the mess hall a few people were there enjoying a mug, playing games of chance and talking. A small smile crossed the Master’s face revealing long sharp teeth, take away the force and Jedi were much like any other sapient being in the galaxy.

“Good evening Master Ro” the beat up old protocol droid announced, “there was speculation you intended to spend the night on the perch. I am happy you joined us for dinner. Grilled rock crawler, a fresh salad and dew berry pie” the silver droid winked a golden eye “I put back an extra large slice for you, fair lady.”

The Wookie let out a low rumble thanking the droid and waved her paw at a table near the back of the room. Chef went to get the meal while Rowangriwo moved to take her customary seat. She liked to be available to her followers without forcing her presence upon them. As she waited for her food she wondered who else was picking up on the messages from the Force. She knew with something close to certainty that at least one or two of those who called themselves Daywings would be sensing the coming change. A change was what they lived for.

OOC: the humbleness quote is from Bruce Lee’s “striking thoughts” I may have gotten a tiny bit carried away here.

Aven born into a family of heroes and villains, one torn between the lightside and the Darkside. Many Jedi believe Aven does not deserve the name of Skywalker, as he does not live up to his ancestors ways, especially now the Jedi have been exiled and his view on that they should retake their position within the Republic and none of the citizens of the Republic should have the right to remove the Jedi.

While he sees himself more as a Grey Jedi, the few Masters that are left sees Aven as a Dark Jedi, and will follow many of his ancestors down the Darkside.

As he meditated he felt the presence of Rowangriwo, the Wookie Jedi Leader. He saw her visions nothing like this had ever happened before to the young Skywalker. He saw his ancestor Luke Skywalker, as he made a prophecy that he did not yet understand. As he reawakes from his meditation he decided that he would bring up the prophecy with Rowangriwo as soon as he has eaten.

Ultar IV. It was so... peaceful. Revan could feel all lifeforms walking the surface, and all the ones circling the skies. He could feel all the Jedi in the small encampment, reaching out to feel their emotions. Happiness. That was the emotion he felt in most of them. But he also felt sadness, aggression, and even hate, but he couldn't find out where it came from.

All of a sudden, he woke up from his meditation, and stood up in the grass under a tree dingning with fruit. Looking around, he figured it was about dinnertime, but he wasn't hungry, so he decided to take a walk instead. Revan liked this planet, but he would rather move into the "glamorous" Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Well, who ever said the Jedi was glamorous? Instead they lived in small prefab shelters out here on an isolated planet in the middle of nowhere. At least it was better than nothing.

Revan didn't pay attention where he was going, and suddenly realized he was outside the camp. He shook his head and returned, heading for the mess hall.

Shimmering streaks of purple and pink swirl around her, as she moves both of her blades through intricate forms at rapid speeds, which are only possible because of her skill in the Force. Leaping impossibly high, she snaps off the power to both sabers, and twirls gently to the ground allowing her long supple lekku to gently wrap around her body.

Fiercely proud of her body, Sera Nor came out to this isolated spot every day to practice her fluid way of fighting. Usually craving an audience, she still preferred to perfect any new moves she creates before she flaunts it in front of the other Jedi refugees. Trying to suppress some of her irritation at the thought of any Jedi hiding, she hooks both light-sabers back onto her belt. Pausing a moment to bask within the Force, her mind lightly brushes against the Jedi Leader’s, and another that seems familiar. Breaking her connection, so that it does not seem as if she was spying on the old Wookie, Sera wonders about the brief glimpse into the Leader’s thoughts.

It had almost seemed as if Master Ro was brining random images into her mind. What struck Sera as odd, was that one of the images made her think of herself. It was unclear if it truly was Sera in the brief flash of insight, or another Twi’lek, but it was clear to Sera that it was definitely a female. Shrugging away any doubts she now felt, her graceful strides take her away from her spot fairly fast. Thinking that she still needs more of a diversion, a soft smile creeps across her face.

Entering the small grouping of buildings that the Jedi now called home, Sera enters her own little spot. Putting on a different top, one that both exposed more of her skin but also concealed more, she takes a quick view at herself in a long mirror that she had salvaged. Liking what she saw in the mirror, she went out to convince one of the younger ones to play her some music. Finally finding one with some skill, she drags him along to the mess hall; it is where the most people will be at this time. Not allowing the presence of Master Ro to slow her, she directs the young man to begin the song. Smiling, she begins a seductive dance, reveling in the few leers, and many more claps she was receiving.

The Jedi bobbed and weaved, ducking and spinning away from most of the stinger shots fired at him by the practice drones. Acrobatic flips combined with inhuman speed and agility allowed him to escaped a large percentage of the shots coming in from the three drones floating around him. Those few shots he could not move away from were caught on the shimmering blade of blue light being guided by the Force. Practicing Shien/Djem So, most of those deflected shot went sizzling back at the drones. When a deflected shot hit a drone it would drop to the ground for nearly half a minute while resetting itself.

Zanthus’ practice was a combination of manic movement with short pauses when he managed to down all three drones. The breaks did not come as often as he could wish, it was a bit more difficult to hit a fist sized automated device than a humanoid sized being. It was a skill he’d not needed in years, one he refused to let fall stagnate.

Spinning left away from a pair of shot from drone 1 the azure blade of his Lightsaber caches another bolt near his hip. With a deft twist of his wrist he sent the tiny red dart of energy back to knock droid 2 out of the air. Drone 3 fires low sending the Jedi into a back flip. Halfway through the flip a small burst of pain erupts near his right knee, while another shot zips by right past his nose. Hitting the ground his right leg wobbles as the Lightsaber intercepts four more shots, the third one managing to strike drone 1 dropping it to the sandy ground.

A slight disturbance in the force catches his attention for a split second. Master Rowangriwo with what he would call an air of expectance. In that heart beat drone 3 fires again. Instead of deflecting the shots or avoiding them the Jedi held out his hand and used a rare talent to just absorb the energy darts. A quick tap of his thumb shut off his Lightsaber, with the weapon powered down the remaining drone went into standby mode. Zanthus walked over plucking to other two out of the sand; he dropped them into the large pockets of his fatigues. Reaching out with the Force he snatches the last one out of the air, switching it off, the little ball of electronics went into another pocket.

With the Lightsaber clipped to his belt opposite the heavy blaster he kept the Jedi crossed the half kilometer of sand and rock to the grassy grounds of the oasis they called home. Exchanging pleasantries with several fellow Knights and Padawan he manages to avoid getting involved in any conversations. Music, clapping and a sense of appreciation came to him several paces from the mess hall.

Inside he is delighted to see Sera Nor dressed to catch the eyes and dancing. Intense blue eyes scanned the room, making eye contact with a few people. The protocol droid known as chef wandered across the room with a tray for Master Ro.

Skywalker, it took a supreme effort to not allow any judgment to follow upon site of the man. With a shrug of discomfort he admits his own past isn’t much better than Skywalker’s lack of achievements.

Zanthus turned back to watch Sera Nor and began clapping to the music with the others. She moved with such fluid grace it sometimes seemed the Twi’lek was the embodiment of the spirit of dancing.

Aven could not take anymore of the dancing of Sera Nor, his anger began to build up within him. He tried to calm himself with techniques that a few Masters and surprisingly Padawan's and Knight's had tried to teach him to calm him down, but this had little effect. He right hand grasped his lightsaber, wanting to activate the blade but afraid to do so, fearing the consequences.

"Why do you portray the Jedi in such whorish ways!?" Aven shouted at the Twi'lek, as he walked up to her. The music suddenly stopped as the young Jedi felt threatened by Aven's presence aswell.

He noticed from the corner of his eye, the watchful eyes of Master Rowangriwo burning inside his anger and into his mind, wanting him to calm down and not to follow his present course of thoughts. Through this technique Aven finally succumbed to the lightsides prevailing wisdom, placed once again in his mind by Rowangriwo, who knew that one day she could possible lose this young Skywalker to the darkside like many of his ancestors have fallen too.

Sera felt the mounting anger of Skywalker, and used it as a reason to increase the pace of her gyrations. The young Jedi also increased the tempo of his music, the entire thing starting to reach a crescendo; until Skywalker suddenly explodes.

"Why do you portray the Jedi in such whorish ways!?" Echoes throughout the mess hall, and Sera comes to a stop. Regarding Aven coldly with her violet eyes, she assumes a radiant grin. Forcing out a throaty chuckle, she spins to the young man that was playing the music for her.

“Thank you very much, Fin. It was beautifully played.” She almost purrs as she gently pats him on his cheek and sends him to grab a couple of plates of food. Turning back to regard the younger Skywalker, she sadly shakes her head.

“You don’t just understand, do you Aven?” She speaks softly. “Being a Jedi doesn’t change who I am; it makes me more. I just happen to enjoy dancing.” Unable to stop a mischievous grin from spreading across her face, she sidles a touch closer, and says loud enough for the rest to hear, “Besides which, I am just sooo bored on this dust-ball.”

Eyeing Master Ro, ensuring that the old Wookie understood just how much of that comment was meant for her and the other Masters that had trapped them here, she turns away from Aven with a little flair. Joining up with Fin and her plate of food, she pulls up a chair among the most vocal of her audience, pointedly ignoring Skywalker the rest of the time.

Now feeling embarrassed and being constantly watched by the Masters and Master Ro, few had their eyes trained in on his lightsaber watching waiting for it to be ignited. He looked around, and then made a run out of the small prefab sheltter, knocking into a few Jedi as he left.

Rowangriwo let small rubble, as if to say carry on to the rest of the group and retook her seat. She was extremely worried that this exile would split the Jedi into two groups for good, and she would have to find someway of keeping the peace.

Meanwhile outside the prefab sheltter, Aven's anger had diminished for the time being. It set about clearing his mind with the force, as his mind was clear he threw up a few training remotes pulling his Electrum lightsaber igniting his bronze blade with his thumb and moving into the Juno stance. He had programmed his training remotes not to hold back and to come at him with full force, which for a training remote was just a stun blast.

Zauthus felt Skywalker’s anger, it would have taken one an effort to not sense it. He could not believe the outburst from Aven and admired the way the Twi’lek answered the man. He was bored too, having earned his Knighthood in the chaos of war, these past fifteen years of exile had been a bit more peace and quite than many of the younger Jedi had bargained for. It wasn’t that they were a bunch of blood-crazed warriors, but most felt they should be doing something. More than establishing a functional colony on the edge of nowhere. More than visiting the third rate planets surrounding their little corner of space.

Zanthus went and retrieved a tray of food and a mug, then moved across the room to the table Sera Nor shared with a few others. “Thank you for dancing this night, sister. This may not be the Hape’s Royal Ballets, but the touch of culture does my heart good. Would you mind if I joined you” pale blue eyes scanned the others at the table, two Padawan, a Youngling and another Knight.

Both the Padawan seemed to lean towards the Daywings while the Knight was solidly behind Master Rowangriwo and the Titavians. The youngling likely had his opinions as well, but Zanthus wasn’t much interested in a ten-year-old’s political analysis and insights. There were no objections and Sear Nor even flashed him one of her bright smiles.

“Has anyone else picked up on the slight change in master Ro. She spent a long time up there meditating today; it took an effort to keep from being dragged along with her. I’d like to blame that distraction for the four times the remotes scored hits on me today” he gave them a slightly crooked grin “but I think the blame goes to all the gourmet meals we enjoy”

Aven struck forward, his bronze blade absorbed the opening shots from the training remotes. He moved his blade slightly higher and blocked the next few before getting bored of using the training remotes. His thumb flicked back over the button of his Electrum lightsaber, deactivating the bronze blade. He placed his lightsaber back on his belt, and pulled the three training remotes back into their pouches with the force.

Looking out past the small encampment he stared out into the vast frozen land in front of the small oasis they had found when they got here. He couldn't actually work out why this planet was so strange, he didn't want to know, he wanted to get back to the real Jedi Temple on Coruscant.

He ran his right hand across his stubbly beard, before turning around and heading back into to finish his food. As he entered the room he could feel the piercing eye's of the other Jedi watching his every move, not trusting any move he made due to his aggressive nature.

From out side anger slow faded replaced by discontent, impatience. Perhaps replaced was the wrong word, those other sensations became strong enough to mute the smoldering belligerence that seemed to be Skywalker’s default setting.

A few moments later the man stalked back in to resume his seat a few tables away from where Zanthus sat with Sera Nor and the others. Aven seemed to cast a challenging glare across the mess hall, though it somehow skipped past Master Ro. After holding Skywalker’s eyes just long enough for the man to know he had no fear of doing so, the sandy haired man turned back to his table companions and bit into a crunchy grilled rock crawler.

Sera can’t help but shake her head as she feels the mood shift around her as Skywalker runs out the door. She could feel that some thought she handled it well, while others thought she was a fool for the minor scolding she had just given the volatile man.

A Knight… Zanthus asks to join their table, complimenting Sera as he does. She smiles widely, and pats the empty chair beside her, which he soon takes. As he sits down, he mentions the old Wookie and the meditating that she had done that day. Sera chuckles when he called the meals gourmet. Poking at a pile of green goop that Fin had brought her, and trying to ignore the unprompted wiggling of some purple stuff, she turns back to the other man.

“Thank you for your compliments Zanthus. It is one nice way to get the blood moving.”

Before she can make any comment on what she thought about what Master Ro might have seen so deeply in the Force, Aven re-enters the room. Meeting his gaze, and feeling Zanthus doing the same beside her, she can’t help but drape herself over the back of the man’s chair. Tickling his ear as he bites into something crunchy, she gives a dulcet laugh.

“I really don’t know what Master Ro was up to, but I thought I had a glimpse of myself through her furry old eyes. Of course, I wasn’t tormenting Skywalker as much as I am now. But I was dancing.” Still smiling, she can feel Aven’s eyes on her, and the jealousy rising in the others at the table with her. Giving Zanthus one last tickle, she moves more fully into her own chair.

“Seriously though, do you believe Master Ro will send anyone to the Republic Senate? Surely we should make another plea to rejoin with them, especially since we don’t know what new threat may be looming. We are stronger with a large government backing us, and the government is stronger for having us with them.”

Zanthus blushed a little when Sera Nor climbed half into his chair, tickling his ear and otherwise putting on a show of flirting. He knew her motive was not bedding him, or at least that was not her main goal. Without turning to look, he knew Skywalker was watching, likely frowning in disapproval. He could feel the negativity floating off the man.

The Knight threw his arm around the Twi’lek’s slender waist as she answered him in a near whisper “I really don’t know what Master Ro was up to, but I thought I had a glimpse of myself through her furry old eyes. Of course, I wasn’t tormenting Skywalker as much as I am now. But I was dancing.”

After one last tickle nearly causing him to spit lum ale across the table with laughter Sera slid back over to her own seat. “I do not know if she will send anyone directly to the Senate or not” he gives a shrug and then bites into another rock crawler. Chewing the crunchy bit of protein, he washed it down with more ale.

“I agree with you Sera, both are stronger in unity than separate. I do not foresee the council choosing to approach the Senate though. Some of our quite supporters, perhaps maybe even planets that managed to stay neutral in that whole fiasco.”

As Skywalker finished his food he noticed the attention had drifted away from him for the time being and had now moved onto Master Rowangriwo. For the black shaggy furred Jedi Master had left the room in quite a hurry followed closely by the Masters of the Council.

The room had fell silence not only of noise but of the force itself everything seemed to go quiet to Skywalker for a few moments as he watched the council enter, a prefab sheltter that is used for the Jedi Council meetings. He felt that they would be discussing further exploring of the unknown regions, either that or the vision of Rowangriwo that seemed to travel around a few of the Jedi.

Rowangriwo brought up her lust for the exploration of the unknown regions, much against the council's wishes although they agreed with her knowing their last mistake, of not believing her about the vision of the Jedi's pending exile.

During this council meeting Aven had moved closer to the prefab sheltter, trying to listen in on the discussions of the Masters, which then they brought up the part of a vision of Rowangriwo that he and a few others had experienced. Ro explained about how she saw, 'The force seemed to say ‘these will be key to change’ and 'A Skywalker and the calm champion. A wounded flier.'

He then realized that there seemed to be a connection between those Jedi and himself but none of the Masters had yet to discover what it was. Aven decided to leave the eavesdropping of the council meeting and continue with his lightsaber combat training.

“I just hadn’t compensated for the setting sun,” the young padawan insisted as he and Birrs Kaumindar reached the leveler ground of the mountain foot. Both Jedi were bare-chested, holding their tunics underarm. The invigorating effects of a well executed training session had left their bodies and minds energized enough to brush way the frozen breeze around them. Although, the thought of a warm, replenishing meal in the safe confines of the flickering Jedi camp didn’t hurt things either.

“Jend, Jend,” Birrs chided playfully, continuing toward the distant encampment. “You show some great potential … but your fibbing leaves something to be desired.” Jend lowered his head but smiled in good hearted defeat. “You were doing well, padawan. But when you start thinking you can make no mistakes, mistakes usually find you. We are Jedi, but we are human as well.”

“I know, master. I’d heard about your acrobatic gifts, but I didn’t think you would subject me to any of it on this kind of planet. No dense forests. The caves are usually too cramped and potentially inhabited. And that mountain …” Jend looked back at the mountain behind them, slowly shrinking but still towering over them as they walked away from it. “The mountain looked too dangerous to attempt anything that I’ve heard you’re capable of.”

“Too dangerous … Do you think that now?”

Jend thoughtfully studied the question. He had to look many of Kaumindar’s lessons over more than once. It was frequently difficult to find answers with him, because they often dwelled in the strangest of places, sometimes ingeniously right at the surface. “No,” Jend decided, gingerly rubbing a covered bruise on his hip. “My lack of concentration was the dangerous part.”

“Very good, Jend. There may be hope for you yet.” He gave a quick wink and a smile before the two Jedi spent most of the trip back to camp in contemplative silence.

Upon reaching the camp, they had once again donned their tunics. Their outfits resembled the famous clothing of the old Jedi Order, but thinner and less bold. As faded as the memories attached to them. Birrs stopped and faced Jend to have a moment with him before they entered the usual turbulence of conflicting opinions within the Jedi settlement.

“This planet is not so boring, is it?” asked Birrs.

Jend sighed, regretting his earlier comment. “No. Well … I know it’s not, but I can’t help but yearn for more. Aside from our oasis, everything’s frozen. And where it’s not frozen, it’s as dry as a dust bone. I need to hear the ocean from time to time, you know? I need more, master.”

Birrs reach over and firmly gripped Jend’s shoulder. “You can have more, padawan. Don’t you see? We are the water. Far from an ocean at the moment, this is true, but water still. And we have control over ourselves. We are a living sea of potential. I say, this planet is perfect for us. It reminds us of who we really are, and of our pivotal role in the galaxy.

Jend looked away from Birrs, accepting the probable truth of his words.

“Beings are depending on us to be strong and perseverant, Jend, whether they realize it or not.

Jend let his eyes meet Birrs’ once again. “Force help anyone who tries to turn you to the dark side, Master Kaumindar.”

Birrs chuckled softly. He looked like a harmless old man. A truly dangerous assumption. “That is one of the few compliments I’ll take. Thank you. Now, it is time to eat.”

In the humble shack that served as the Jedi council chamber the old black furred Wookie used telepathy to speak with the other Masters who served as leaders. While all of them understood Basic, she was not the only one who’s vocal chords were not designed to make the necessary sounds. While there were a number of protocol droids to translate, they were better utilized going out with the exploration teams. With the Force, there was no need for a translator for understanding.

Milky white eyes looked from one being to another; in her mind’s eye, each was a unique light, like stars in a night sky. Rowangriwo growled in her native tongue while sending her thoughts to the other council members. A time of change is upon brothers, my sisters. I have seen the Keys of the Skywalker Prophecy.

The patient Wookie went on without pause sharing with them the vision she had. When she stopped the council members silently gazed at each other. The silence stretched on for some time as each Master digested her news. The shaggy black furred Master settled in, slipping gentle fingers into her pouch for another candy. The crinkling of the wrapper was like a crack of thunder in meditative atmosphere.

A sense of amusement wafted from the only human on the council. Master C’Baoth broke the silence speaking in philosophical tones.

Powers flee, spokes of three
form the wheel that binds.
Separate on a newfound path
until yet darker times.

Vajra, the star of hope and peace, spoke next. The Talz gurgling speech was soft yet insistent as he recited the next verse. His mental projections were a gentle caress as he used the Force to send the stanza as well as speaking it in his tongue.

As they begin, the wheel will spin.
Pursuit will spell more speed.
A blur of changes will unfold
where little may be seen.

Ravtik spoke next, his Basic slightly marred by the constant growling sound, yet perfectly understandable.

Spokes in chase, broken space,
the wheel may lose control,
leaving all so space may rest,
to tend a vacant hole.

Amethyst trilled and whistled the next verse; the brilliant plumage around her face and down her neck was slightly ruffled. Her small eyes gleaming brightly she turned the prophecy into music while her telepathic message tinted with anticipation, and a hair of apprehension. The prophecy did not promise any happy endings, indeed scholars had debated the meaning of vague lines spoken so long ago.

Or spokes may elect to fight direct.
The wheel would crumble in.
A tragic loss for greater peace,
and none would truly win.

Rowangriwo nod her head slowly, relying on the Force and her telepathy skills. One could not maintain proper dignity attempting to speak with a piece of candy in one’s mouth. Even among peers, she had no desire to drool all over her self while speaking.

But there is hope, the wheel may slow,
instead of war and doom.
Slow to still, changing form,
into light, or lightness torn.
But before such change is born,
calm will trail the passing storm,
and peace will start to bloom.

Again, there came a long stretch of silence and meditation. As the council members independently meditated on the prophecy and the Jedi Knights the well-respected head of the order named. How and where were these individuals to play their roles…

Aven found a few Jedi not too far away from the council prefab sparring with their lightsabers, as it is said it is better to train with others than droids. He watched a young Mon Calamari duelled against an older Trandoshan, before the duel it would have been said that the stronger Trandoshan would have defeated the Mon Calamari but it was in fact the other way around.

"Care for a duel" asked the Mon Calamari Jedi as the Trandoshan moved out of the ring.

Aven activated his Electrum Lightsaber, and brought his bronze blade up in front of his face before slicing it back down and going into a Juno stance, waiting for the young Mon Calamari to make the first move.

The other Jedi, whose name was Tristia, activated a calm blue blade from a greatly carved hilt. Tristia brought his lightsaber in reach of Aven, who struck first high and powerful almost knocking Tristia to his feet. Tristia returned a few strikes quickly and less powerful than Aven's first strike but had the desired effect and slowly caused Aven to retreat out of the ring, which was classed a defeat.

Aven deactivated his lightsaber and laughed to himself, it was the first time he had been defeated in such away and he hoped not too many Jedi saw his defeat. He shook Tristia hand before running off around the camp, venting a little steam and trying to clear his mind.

Within the council room, it was Ravtik that broke the silence first. He had spent a lot of his time trying to make sense of the Skywalker Prophecy by studying the history of the Jedi, and the Skywalker line.

"It seems we are missing something, hidden between the lines of the Prophecy." snarled Ravtik, as he tried to understand the Prophecy, "Perhaps it is in the latest Skywalker that the answer maybe found, deep within his unconscious may we find the answer. But careful we have to be in not miss reading into this"

He wanted to uncover the Prophecy, but at the same time remain cautious and let the answers uncover themselves, either way they needed to discover it.

Sera finishes her meal, lost in her own thoughts. What was the old fur-ball up to? She had the outmost respect for the Jedi Master, even if she disagreed with her choice to stay on this world, and knew that she wouldn’t have left like she did for something that was not truly important. The Wookiee was too reserved and, in Sera’s view, cautious to make any move that could be read the wrong way.

Smiling apologetically to Zanthus for being so distracted, she rises in a way that she brushes against him.

“I am sorry that I have to leave so soon, Zanthus. As usual though, I’ve been neglecting my duties and was told to spend at least an hour each day in quiet meditation. It was in no uncertain terms, too!” Laughing richly, she pats his cheek, and sways out the door. She knows that Fin will see to her tray.

Hardly caring about the crowd of curious Force-users, all gathered around the council’s prefab, she moves easily into her own rooms. Moving easily into a sitting position, she allows the Force to completely fill her. As usual, her sense of ego will not allow her to surrender completely to the will of the Force, and she finds her consciousness drifting to the council. Curiosity fills her, and she wills her awareness to move closer and closer. Soon, however, her mind is roughly grabbed by one that is very familiar to her.

Spying again, my young Twi’lek friend? I was actually just about to ask Master Ro about what I am sure is you. You may as well stay, and hear what I have planned for you.

And with that, Master Vajra is the next to break the silence within the council chamber. Still sending his thoughts out in their caressing way, he does nothing to hide the squirming mind of the Twi’lek that is joined with his.

“I am curious as to what we plan for these young Knights? How might we best harness their impatient energy? Especially our dancing Twi’lek; I have worked with her many times and she is much too proud of her abilities. There are a few that walk unsteadily along a very dangerous line. Is it wise to allow them free reign through this slippery time?”

He pauses, inwardly smiling as he sensed Sera’s chagrin. Her vanity was something he often lectured her on, but usually only to remind her of the dangers inherent to using the Force. He was actually fairly fond of the younger woman.

“I feel that it is something we must give serious thought to. We will need to send some of our numbers off of this planet; whether it is to strengthen our connections among the Republic, to scout out what the Mandorolians are doing, or even to explore more of our region of space. Why not let it be the Knights that Master Rowangriwo has named off? With a Master or two to accompany them, they may lose much of the impatience that is gnawing at them right now.”

Nillia entered where she could sence the other Jedi's, as she entered she did not know any of them. she went and ordered her a few drinks and thought about her good-byes to her sister who was on Corcaunt already. Nillia was feeling lost and alone.

She saw a wookie and a few others. " I don't mean to interupt, I am new here and I was searching for some Jedi Refugees. I am also a Jedi, I had to leave my planet, because they didn't want me there, because I do have Jedi traits. I am here to help with what anyone needs help with or for. " she says in a sad voice.

After clearing his mind from his run around the encampment, Aven decided it was best if he got to sleep, ready for what ever the force would throw at him tomorrow. The force had been telling him ever so quietly to visit this small river, which he was unsure of ever since he had got here.

So he had decided that first thing tomorrow he would find out why he was being drawn to it. Perhaps it would be nothing; at least he was hoping it was going to be nothing as he lay down in the Jedi Prefab Quarters, which were not very comfortable. He would have preferred to stay in one of the transports or even in the Pride Of The Jedi, but no he was stuck in a small cold prefab shettler.

The planet Ultar IV swelled into the view screen of the frieghter as Ardan Kell dropped out of hyperspace. This frieghter had belonged to a group of pirates harrassing ships that plied the course between the unknown regions and the galactic outer rim. Kell had been haggling a deal for some basic utilities with a passing Rynn Caravan when they were assaulted by two ships and a handful of fighters. Kell aided in repelling the boarders and even led the charge against this ship's compliment wresting control while it was still slaved to the Rynn transport by the docking umbilical.

The Rynn offered him the ship after it became known that his own craft had become damaged too badly to repair in open space. An even trade for the help and the remains of his "Wanderer". He traded the pirates' wepons for additional supplies and counted himself and the Jedi lucky. Not once did he make obvious use of the force during the conflict nor did he draw his lightsaber. That had left him feeling disappointed, because for the first time in nearly 5 years he was acting as a Jedi Knight.

Master Ro would still likely take him to task over this. The trading run was not exactly approved... which was to say he didn't ask so much as he slipped away one morning for a jaunt which had ended up crossing paths with the Rynn. Still it could have been worse. he could have been looking for a situation like that just to...

'No, he thought to himself. If I keep on that route I'll end up convincing my self that is exactly what happened.'

"Merchants, farmers, and monks," Kell lamented as he began the final descent to the planet's surface, "Is that the fate of the jedi now?"

Kell banked the freighter into a tight loop around the Jedi camp using the view out of the "classic" offset cockpit of the ship to search out a sizable landing area near the jedi community. He reflected on reaction of those on the ground to the unknown craft's appearance overhead. the ship, a C.E.C. ZT-1300C an update of the timeless yet ancient YT-1300 freighter from over 500 years ago. A time when the word Jedi was as infamous as it is now. The time of the Empire.

It seemed like a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

The conversation went on as the Masters of the council debated the merits and flaws of each of the Jedi that Master Rowangriwo named from her vision. The Masters agreed to send some of the Knights out and were debated which Masters should go along with them when a stranger interrupted the council.

She strolled into the small-prefabricated shack as if she owned the place, serving herself a drink and inspecting the place before even turning to address those who occupied the room. Ravtik the Shistavan let out a low grumbling deep in his throat as a small ripple of surprise at the intrusion went around the circle of Masters. Amethyst let out a piercing trill, but Ravtik’s growling basic easily heard over her.

“Jedi you have found, a Council meeting you have interrupted, child.” He lifted a clawed hand and pointed at the single door out of the small building “ go. I will speak to you later of manners and respect, child.”

Master Ro sent a message broadcasting it so that the masters as well as the intruder would hear her words. “You are welcome to Ultar IV, we are crowded but space will be made for you. Go find your peers, the council will have an announcement when we are done with deliberations.” Some of the Masters nod their heads to the statement with small smiles, while Ravtik and Amethyst frowned. Through the Force, the five Masters send a soft but implacable sense of exclusion to the new comer.

The noise of this ZT-1300C landing awoke Aven abruptly, as it landed quite close to his quarters. Now awake he thought it would be a good time to go visit that river the one that the force had been telling him to visit. This was the only known fresh running water supply known on the whole planet as the rest of the planet was a vast sheet of ice and snow, with the poles being the opposite in all extremes, that being a desert.

Aven wrapped his belt around him, and put on his usual attire of Jedi Clothing, which had started to look like those Refugee's that leave Coruscant daily. He doubled checked his lightsaber, rations and other minor equipment he might need that was on his belt and set out.

Angry at being waked up so early, he barged through the group of Jedi that had massed around this ship. A few of the Jedi tried to say something, but with the look on Aven's face they changed their minds especially after yesterday's outburst.

The River was just a few minutes walk away from the camp, just on the outskirts of the Oasis they had settled in. He approached with caution, not knowing what to expect. As he stood there images of his ancestors began to randomly appear, showing all aspects of the paths Aven could. But he noticed there was more of the Darkside showing through than of the light or even neutral. He looked up across the river, as he got the distinct feeling he was being watched, and there in front of him was figure covered in a black cloak.

"Who are you stranger?" Aven demanded quite nervously, the figure didn't answer instead it ignited a lightsaber. Aven noticed the hilt was similar to his, being an Electrum Lightsaber expect the blade was red. The Dark Figure began to walk over the river, this didn't seem out of the ordinary as the river wasn't that deep and with the right control of the force it could be possible.

As the figure got closer Aven ignited his Bronze Electrum Lightsaber and meet the figure's lightsaber with an aggressive first move. The strokes of Aven and of the dark figure seemed to be very similar. They parried for several minutes before Aven swung his lightsaber around decapitating the dark figure, as the head rolled around the face became clear, it was his face, the face of Aven Skywalker.

Aven looked at where the body should have been but it had disappeared along with the head that had rolled to his feet. Could this be my fate? The fate of many of my ancestors or could it be like the vision Luke Skywalker witnessed in the cave on Degobah, but that vision that Luke saw was like a suggestion to who his father was. I knew mine and he is dead...

Aven stopped that line of thought; his best bet would be to bring it up with the masters or would it? He decided it would be best for the time being to keep it quiet and returned to the encampment.

" I am so sorry to intrude. I will just leave, since I have the feeling I am not wanted." she says as she left outside.

" The only Jedi I knew I was my father, no need in telling me about respect when I didn't know they were in a meeting. " she thought to herself.

Then she the present through the force and what she felt was even more lost. " If I had any peers, than I wouldn't be here looking for someone, then would I! " she thought to herself.

Nillia looked at her ship and she didn't have anyone else to turn to, so she decided to take a trip to Corcaunt to her sister's apartment and stay with her.

" R3, set coodinates for Corcaunt, Jade's apartment. " she says to the little droid. R3 made a series of beeps in protest of going to Corcaunt.

" I have no where else but there with my Jade. I know that she is a Senator but who says I have to be me when I get there. " she says to the droid.

R3 made a round of blips and beeps to get Nillia stop from going to Corcaunt.

" Oh, switch off! I know your right I need to stay here, I don't need to jeprodize Jade. " she says as she snapped at the droid. " Stay with the ship, I am going for a walk and I don't know, wait to get a talking to about respect." she says to the droid.

Arden had just begun loading the contents of his ship's cargo bay when he noticed a new face among the other refugees. She was about his age he suspected and looking more than a little out of place.

Using the force he placed the last container onto the hoversled and gave control over to a pair of younglings to take to the storage hut. Then he started off towards the newcomer.

"You look as though you just executed a blind jump," he said coming up beside the young woman and feeling her disappointment and dismay, "Is anything the matter?"

"My name is Ardan Kell," He said not sure how he should approach this system. "I was just on my way to what serves as our messhall, Perhaps you'd like to grab a cup of Caf?"

Zanthus finished off his meal in a companionable silence among the Knights and Padawan learners at the table. Around them speculations were voiced on the subject of the council’s meeting. Sera rose policing her tray with a comment about meditation. The sandy haired Jedi with the almost round boyish face looked around the mess hall shaking his head. He would wager half the people in the room were using the Force to eavesdrop on the council meeting. While far from the most patient being among the Jedi, Zanthus could not figure out why everyone seemed to need to know now. The Jedi had been stuck on this third rate dirtball for years, very little happened suddenly on Ultar IV.

The reclusive Knight cleared up his own clutter after finishing off his lum ale and walked out of the mess hall. Two space craft had landed, pale blue eyes watched as a young woman he was not familiar with scurried out of the council hall with a look of dejection on her face. Zanthus moved in her direction and was surprised to see Arden Kell directing the unloading of strange ship. Craving news and a conversation that did not center on Master Ro’s vision he reached the woman and Arden as the man invited her to the mess hall.

Zanthus chuckled at his comments on the Caf as he gave them both a small bow of his head in greeting. “Greetings stranger” he flashed a smile at the woman “I am Zanthus Von Bronn welcome to Ultar IV and then turned to the pilot. “I did not think a new transport was on the shopping list Arden Kell” a blend of curiosity and amusement floated from the sandy haired Knight. “What other surprises have you brought us” he asked as his icy blue eyes watched a few Padawan and Younglings unloading the ship.

As Revan entered the mess hall it was nearly empty. "Looks like I'm late for dinner," he mumbled to himself, as he took a tray with food and a cup of caf. He glanced around the hall, located an empty table, and sat down. First, he just sat back and listened to the small-talk in the room, and overheard a conversation between two young padawans.
"What do you think the council is up to?" one of them whispered. The other one shook his head.
"No idea..." he replied.

"The Council?" Revan said to himself, and looked through the room. He noticed that none of the Council members were present. It was quite unusual that the Council members left the mess hall early. Probably in the Council chamber... he thought and started to chew on a hot nerfsteak.

A few minutes later, after finishing his meal and leaving the tray, Revan walked out again. As he got out, he saw a few Jedi standing outside the Council Chamber, probably eavesdropping.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Revan asked a group of padawans, as he walked up to them. They turned around, and one of them whispered, "The Council is having a meeting, and we..."
"You shouldn't be eavesdropping on them. It can be dangerous for you. Now move along."
"But we're..." one of them started, but Revan interrupted him by raising a hand and shaking his head. The padawan nodded and they left.

Revan yawned. He was starting to feel tired, and thought that he probably shoould go to bed, so he hurried up his pace to of the prefab shelters, entered his quarters and started to undress.

Birrs Kaumindar rested his bushy bearded chin on his clasped hands, elbows propped on his table in the quieting mess hall. His grandfatherly gaze drifted among the young ones tending to after-meal duties. His comforting presence invited them to look up from their work to acknowledge him, yet his authority and experience turned their looks into mere glances and sent them back to work. It was not his intention, but they were young and often didn’t know quite how to walk that line between respect and awe.

One young male Jedi, human, appeared to be a little more in control of his actions, approaching Birrs’ table with a nod of acknowledgement before calling the two empty plates on the table to within his reach before using his hands to lift them onto his cluttered serving tray. Birrs spoke to him kindly.

“Why didn’t you just lift them all the way to your tray?”

The boy did not look up from his work, wiping the table with a damp washcloth. “Because I could reach them once I moved them close enough.”

Birrs gave the boy a subtle, approving nod, even though the boy was still focused on his task. Looking past the young one, he saw a couple of female rodians sitting at a table intently staring in the direction of the Council’s conference away from the mess hall. They were very still, and Birrs could feel with little difficulty that they were trying to eavesdrop on the conference. He spoke again to the boy as he continued to monitor the rodians.

“Aren’t you interested in the Council’s conference? I bet you could listen in if you really tried.”

“You’re right. I could. I can. But I won’t. It doesn’t concern me.”

The boys words sounded rehearsed, but Birrs could tell he stood by them. “How long have you been on clean up duty? “

“Almost one month.”

Birrs eyebrows raised. He looked up at the boy. “One month? Are you being punished?”

The boy sighed and set his tray on the table. He stared at the stacks of bowls, plates and cups in front of him while he made Birrs away of his true feelings, through his words and through the emotions he projected. “Not that I know of, though it does feel that way sometimes. Sometimes I think they just don’t know where to put me. Sometimes I think the know something about me that they aren’t telling me. Sometimes I think they’ve forgotten about me entirely.”

The boy brought himself back to his duties, lifted his tray and turned to leave.

“What is your name, young one. I am Master Kaumindar.”

The boy stopped and turned to answer. “My name is Sarlis Vakumb, master.”

"Seek me out later," said Birrs. "I will see if I can find a reason for you. Your discipline tells me that you could be utilizing your time in better ways.”

“Thank you, Master Kaumindar,” said Sarlis, surprised and clearly brightened by the statement. “You’re not as difficult as I’ve heard.” He turned and headed for the wash room.

Birrs shook his head and mumbled softly to himself. “Difficult. Why do they always think I’m difficult?”

He looked again at the rodians, then shot a concerned scolding through the force to emphasize the importance of privacy. The girls jumped in their seats and looked at Birrs before leaving their table in embarrassed flight.

Still confused by his vision, he was sure whether it was his future or just a vision of what could be his future. But in the back of his mind he began to wonder whether he would benefit from the power of the Darkside of the force although all the Jedi around him would notice immediately. He turned a few heads as he entered the encampment with his line of thought which as soon as he noticed he cleared his mind and took a seat within the mess hall.

He noticed an older master, talking to some younger Jedi within the mess hall. Perhaps he should consult this master about his vision as he felt that he couldn’t speak to the Council about a vision about the Darkside or they might banish an already banished Jedi.

He stood up and headed over to the Master, "Excuse me, sorry if I'm interrupting. If you have sometime I would like to speak to you about a concerning matter." As he waited for the reply from the Master, he began to think he shouldn’t have told anyone let along a Master he does not know but this one seems to be an understanding Jedi.

Birrs studied the Jedi's face. From the few times Birrs had taken notice of him, Aven had looked like the type of Jedi that was troubled and in imminent danger. He looked no different now, but Birrs could tell the matter was important.

"Please," he said, motioning to the seat across from him.

He felt uneasy around Aven. Not frightened, or particularly worried. More cautious than anything else. There were a few things about this Jedi that Birrs did not agree with, and he could sense it went deeper than the surface, but he let his mind let go of judgment for the moment. It was, after all, Aven approaching him to speak, not the other way around.

"What do you know of Force visions?" Aven said after a few moments of silence, he was still unsure of how he should tell Birrs o fhis vision. He cleared his mind and thought it was best to tell him straight.

"The force brought me to the river just outside the encampment, where in the river i saw my ancestors, more of the ones that had followed the path of the darkside. Then across the river there stood a dark figure, who i dueled with. To which i discovered this was also a force vision, it was myself but of the darkside. Is that my destiny or was the force trying to show me how i could become?" Aven looked back to Birrs, who looked quite uneasy still about him asking for some advice.

"Revan! Revan, come here!"
The boy looked up from the engine of his new starfighter, Novabird, and entered the house where he and his family lived. "Yeah Mom, what is it?", the boy shouted back at his mother, who was somewhere in the house.
"Go down to the marketplace and buy some Drick fruit for the dinner, will you? There's credits in the living room!"
The boy cursed under his breath, he wanted to continue working on his starfighter. "Yes mom..."

A few moments later, he was out on the streets on his way to the marketplace, when he met a Jedi. The boy cleared his eyes and looked again. It really was a Jedi! He couldn't help but to stand there, completely paralyzed, staring at the tall man in the brown robes.
"Hello there little friend. What's your name?", the Jedi said. A Jedi was actually speaking to him!
"R-Revan, sir...", he managed to say. Then, suddenly out of nowhere, two proton torpedoes were launched from the sky and hit the building behind the boy, and everything went black.

Revan woke up in his bed, dripping in sweat, his heart banking. He sat up, head in his hands, trying to sort out his thoughts. He had dreamed of the day he was taken from Hapes. Birrs took a few moments to let Aven's recount set in. It was disturbing, and he was glad the Force had told him stay cautious.

"You seem to be a troubled man, Aven. I might need some more information if I'm to properly analyze the situation. I think the Council would be the best ..."

Birrs let himself trail off as he sensed the Jedi's preference to keep the council out of it if possible. So instead, he shifted in his seat and leaned forward a bit to settle into the discussion.

"My own thoughts on this matter may be sufficient enough for the moment, though. I have in fact had experience with victims of the dark side myself. And it is good to have a healthy knowledge of the routes the dark side takes to claim its victims. Your situation reminds me of one similar that occured, let's see, about five hundred years ago. Near the end of the Empire's strangling grip on the galaxy. The son of the legendary Anakin Skywalker was being trained by Yoda--"

"What do you mean? Yes I am Aven Skywalker" Aven replied slightly confused and aggravated, struggling to make sense of it all, as it appeared the force was showing no solution to him. Perhaps he was looking at this the wrong way, "What are you suggesting?".

I knew a Skywalker would have much to live up to, and I had just assumed leave him-- you --to yourself. I didn't seek you out, didn't even ask what you looked like. I assumed the pressure and conflicting opinions of the other Jedi would leave you wanting some space. Even the Council had told me that you must find your true path. I didn't make the connection until just now."

Birrs, took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "As much faith as I like to have in any Jedi, your ancestry demands that you be extremely careful and mindful of your emotions. Zanthus thought it odd the blond woman did not return his greeting in kind, she seemed dispirited and undeceive. He did not want to brush her and her feeling aside; the slightly shorter human was new to the refugees, and a Jedi. The round faced Knight did not need to see the silver and black handled Lightsaber clipped to her belt, the woman had a strong presence in the Force.

Tucking his thumbs behind the belt holding his own matt black handled Lightsaber as well as the heavy blaster on his left hip, the Knight listened to Arden Kell’s inventory. “The droids are the biggest prize to my mind, though the meat is always nice.”

Zanthus looked over at the woman, hoping to catch her brown eyes as he repeated the invitation. “The caf is lousy, but the grilled rock crawlers were much better than what the food processor was spitting out tonight. Ardan nodded in agreement with Zathus' appraisal, "At least till we can start raising animals ourselves we should keep it frozen till needed," Ardan replied, "You remember how edgy master Ro and some of the other jedi from more carnivorous lineage got last winter"

"So long as your here Zathus, would you care to take a seat with us. It would probably make her a little less nervous to be seen with someone other than myself. Especially since Master Ro will likely tear a strip off me for ducking out to the Rim without telling anyone."

The worst of it wasn't that he went, but that he suspected that Ro would disapprove of the trip so close to the Galactic Trade routes and so over a period of a few days, he slowly withdrew his prescence in the force and altogether avoided contact with the Jedi Masters in an effort to slip away unnoticed. He wasn't planning on having to return with a new craft. That was going to make it un avoidable in revealing the truth. something he hoped would go largely unasked.

Leaving Master Birrs to his business Aven headed out into the courtyard of the encampment. He wanted to get off this planet as soon as possible, he needed to discover the meaning of his vision and why the continuous calling of the Darkside was coming from within him. Perhaps he should visit the place where the Dark Lord's are buried or should he go to the place Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's final resting place was.

No I should remain here and learn what i can. He remembered hearing stories about the powers his ancestors had and had discovered, one of those being force lightning, he had always been some what of a fan of those sort of powers and would have loved to have created a force storm of lightning right where he was standing, but he was afraid that the Jedi camp would turn on him. He knew he could take down a few Padawan's and Knights but it was the Masters he feared as those were the ones that would place their hand on their lightsaber when he was having one of his aggressive moments.

His line of thought was broken by a young Jedi Knight, who wished Aven to duel with him. He agreed and activated his Electrum Lightsaber, bringing his bronze blade to the Knights green blade.

"The losers has to venture out into the vast ice plains" said the Jedi Knight with a smirk as he activated his second lightsaber and brought the blue blade behind him, waiting for Aven to make the first move.

Aven used the force to jump backwards over the group of Jedi standing behind him, who parted once he landed. The young Jedi Knight was quite bewildered by it all as it was out of character for Aven. Aven then used the force to push the young Jedi over before picking him up, he wanted to choke him and use those Darkside powers but he couldn't so realised the knight. Who then in turn jumped towards Aven deactivating his second lightsaber and struck Aven's lightsaber with the green blade of his first.

Aven pushed back, with hard and fast strokes quickening his blows after each strike. The young Jedi couldn't take it and tripped over, where Aven placed his blade at the young Jedi's throat, the anger and lust to kill building up inside of him. The young Jedi tried to reason with him, but Aven wasn't listening.

"Deactivate your lightsaber, Skywalker" said a voice behind him. Aven took no notice and kept it there looking for the way he could get out of the situation is he delivered the killer blow to the young Knight.

Then there was a hiss of a lightsaber, and a purple blade came in front of him. He knew that blade for that blade had been drawn on him quite a few times. "Now deactivate your lightsaber, i will not ask you again" it was the voice of Jedi Master Gann Starii, a dark skinned man who has had several disagreements with Aven and believes Aven is already an agent of the Darkside.

Aven deactivated his lightsaber and walked away, as the other Jedi stood around the young Knight, not knowing what to think and how to react to what has just happened.

Master Starii shook his head and placed his lightsaber back on his belt, "That Jedi will be the death of the order" he mumbled to himself as he walked away.

Aven walked out of the camp, he didn't know why he felt the way he did. He needed guidance, the kind you couldn't get from the Jedi Order. He needed to consult those of his bloodline that had gone down the path that now faces him.

Very shortly after the interruption from the girl, Master Vajra releases Sera’s mind with a reminder to not pry into others’ business. Sera allows her mind to merge more fully with the Force and finds herself drifting among little ripples that bring to mind river currents. Slowly falling into a type of half-sleep, she allows the power to wash her in random images.

After a few hours of random images, Sera slowly starts seeing images that seemed relevant to what was being discussed by the Council. She sees a view of herself dancing with two unknown people. She is sure one is a male that she has already met before. She sees the flashing of lightsabers, and some seem as if they are raised against each other. Images of her brother and the Hutt that once owned her, sometimes working together, sometimes fighting, spin across her eyes. A bloody form of a Twi’lek lying crumpled on the floor is the last vision Sera sees.

Waking with a start Sera tries to figure out the sex of the Twi’lek she had just seen. She has a very uneasy feeling that it is someone very close to her; maybe even was her. Shaking away her apprehension, she sways unsteadily to the refresher. She shared this little prefab with another young Knight, but didn’t feel anything to indicate her roommate may have been by.

Spending only a few minutes washing the drowsiness from her frame, she searches quickly through her wardrobe. Finding what she was looking for nearly the furthest from her usual dress, she sighs slightly and shrugs it on. It was, in Sera’s opinion, the plainest, most boring article in her entire collection. All it was was plain brown trousers underneath a loose white tunic, and all covered by a darker brown robe. She isn’t entirely sure why she hadn’t drawn on her customary tattoos, or why she put on these plain clothes, she just knew that it felt right.

Leaving her small shelter, (it would never be home to her), she notes that a ship had landed nearby, and turns toward the hissing noise of lightsabers. She merges with the crowd just as a Master stops Aven from seriously harming another. Watching with curiosity as the young man stalks his way out of camp, Sera debates whether or not she should follow him. Thinking that perhaps it would be better that he be left for a bit, she moves to leave the encampment in the other direction.

“Sera! I hardly recognized you dressed like that… and didn’t you used to have tat…” Pausing awkwardly the young man in front of her swallows in sudden apprehension.

“It is alright Fin. I am feeling slightly strange today, and I am not sure why. Perhaps I should seek one of the Masters.”

Turning back, she moves toward the large shelter used as their mess hall. Even her customary enticing sway was noticeably gone today. Fin shakes his head, disappointed that his favorite source of entertainment was lacking today, and moves off to find a quick duel.

Entering the mess Sera fails to notice anyone that she recognizes as a Master. Trying to prevent herself from pacing nervously she moves to grab a cup of the awful Caf they served. Finding a spot at an empty table, she slides into the chair and lowers her head onto her arms. She didn’t know why she felt so strange today.

As Aven walked slowly through the camp, know getting more strange looks from the rest of the Jedi because of the incident that just took place. He only needed to touch his lightsaber with his finger tips and a few of the younger Jedi would either stopping looking at him or run away.

He knew that he would be reported to the Jedi Council by Master Gann Starii, this would mean Aven would be either further exiled or stripped of his powers, more than likely it would be further exile. Should he prevent Master Starii from reporting him?

No i cant; killing him would only bring more problems for me if anyone saw. But what if nobody saw, it would be perfect, they wouldn't know it was me. He thought to himself as he saw Master Starii walking out on the vast ice plains of Ultar IV, doing his usual walk. This was Aven's chance to confront him; he could hide his presence with the force and approach the Master.

Aven ran out into the vast ice plains, conflicting view inside of him deciding what he should do as he masked his presence with the force. His next move would ultimately decide whether he would walk the path of the lightside or start down the path of the Darkside, although he had the seeds of the Darkside making growth within side of him already.

Approaching Master Starii from behind, Aven gripped him with the force lifting his body of the floor and turning Starii to face him.

"What... are you doing...? Skywalker?" said Starii as he struggled for a breath.

I should realise him but its too late now, he would kill me, Aven thought to himself, and he shouted as he as he choked the Master until his body fell limp, "Doing what i should have done along time ago!"

He threw the body of the now dead Jedi Master Gann Starii on the floor and quickly by masking his force presence ran into the camp, to where everyone thought he was going... to his quarters, where he would remain until the news of Master Starii's death would reach the camp. Of which wouldn't be for several hours, long enough for Aven to come up with a plausible alibi.

As Aven paced up and down the prefab shelter that he call's his quarters, along with several other Jedi that also have beds in this extremely small room. He noticed something familiar walking past the prefab shelter, it looked like it was Master Starii… in fact it was Master Starii.

"What?" Aven said as he stepped outside his prefab shelter seeing Master Starii, "You should be…" he was stopped in his tracks as Master Starii turned around and then disappeared before him. Was it his conscious playing tricks on him or the force haunting him with visions of Master Gann Starii? Or was it this planet and the confinement of the Jedi Order slowing driving this Jedi mad.

He walked over to a large group of Jedi, "My fellow Jedi, too long have the Jedi Order has been exiled from the public affairs of the Galactic Republic. We should have our place in the Republic once more and if they do not acknowledge us we ought to make them accept us!"

The group of Jedi began to argue between each other about how the Jedi Order should go about getting themselves back into Republic and being accepted. "Who's opposes me?" Aven shouted at the group he got no answer so walked away to start another run around the camp.

The Jedi Council had been silenced by Aven's shouting, Ravtik the closest to the door of the Council Prefab Shelter. "Too aggressive Skywalker is." He snarled, as he watched the young Jedi begin to run around the camp, knocking into those Jedi in front of him occasionally stopping to argue with them. "We should send him to Tribus II to settle that native dispute on the planet. Although we should send another Jedi along with him to try and keep him under control." He turned towards the other members of the Jedi Council as he brushed his fur back from his eyes and looked towards Master Ro for approval. As she was the Grand Master of what was left of the order.

Late that night, having left Zathus and the new one...Nillia, Ardan Kell sat alone on a hill a little less than a kilometer outside of the jedi village. It was quite here, quiet but still alive with the noise of the wild. The silent pursuit of the night predators' the cold fear of the prey. This was the reality of the force... and it's irony. The sustainer and spirit of life itself balanced by it's own efficient cruelty.

He was suddenly aware of Master Ro standing about a meter behind him, but he said nothing.

Birrs awoke on his back, on the ground of his bare, one-room dwelling. He had lain down a short time before, and never did fall into complete slumber. Various conflicts and decisions where dancing in his head to a beat that would not let him rest peacefully for long. Perhaps he wasn't trying hard enough.

Perhaps he didn't want to. His conversation with Skywalker had set well enough with him. Caution would have to be taken, but the situation was manageable, as he saw it. But then came the feelings Birrs encountered while he drifted around sleep. It was Aven. It was not good. Daybreak was not long away, but it was too long to wait. Birrs rose and headed for the door, calling his saber to his hand and clipping it to his belt in one fluid motion.

He sensed some uneasiness among the Jedi that where out in the open at this hour. He was almost sure it had to do with Aven. He caught the face of an old padawan of his, sitting on a small boulder outside his own shelter. "Tand. Tand! What is the disturbance. It is Aven, isn't it. What is the problem?"

Tand, a tall rodian in his early twenties, responded with a snort and a shake of his head before returning his attention to his lightsaber repair. "It's always the same problem, Master Kaumindar. He's just being Aven."

It was more than that, Birrs knew. Tand had obviously long ago begun to ignore Aven's actions, possibly from annoyance, possibly from jealousy. He probably wouldn't notice any kind of change in Skywalker. He had made up his mind about him, one of the young Jedi's faults.

Birrs would have to seek the Council.

Aven stood on the edge of camp, staring out into the frozen barren wastelands of Ultar IV. It was strange that at this moment, when he felt at his darkest that he could feel at his calmest aswell.

He looked around to see other Jedi slowly walking up after a long night's rest; it was fairly easy to do so as the planet seemed so quiet. He wondered how long it would before the Republic or even the Mandalorians sent soldiers to eradicate the Jedi. Would then they fight or would they just accept their fate like they have done so before?

He stretched and turned around heading towards the mess prefab shelter, which was where the majority of the Jedi were heading while others began to meditate or run through the information sent through from their allies in the galaxy which were extremely few.

Birrs sat cross-legged in contemplative meditation outside his quarters. A calming breeze played with his curls and occasionally caused his tunic to gently hug his torso, as if playfully beckoning for him to rise and join in its dance throughout the sleepy settlement. He would have liked nothing more than to take part in such a carefree activity, but duty was duty.

He had been reminded of this earlier by the Council, or at least by who was available of the Council. Master Ravtik and Master Amethyst. The others were tending to their own duties, as it should be. Still, Birrs had hoped for more opinions during his meeting. It would have raised the chances of an opinion that might match or compliment his own, which neither Jedi gave him.

Skywalker is following a path that will provide answers, despite how dark that path may be. Those were the words spoken by Amethyst, beautiful in tone yet dismal and disappointing in actuality. Ravtik agreed, vocally, but Birrs could feel the conflict in him. Ravtik was wary of Aven, but apparently not enough to disagree publicly with Amethyst's wisdom. Yes, given a few more Council members, perhaps Ravtik would have stepped over to Birrs' side.

And that side was: one-on-one as well as group conferencing and close surveillance. It was the most logical thing to do, and Birrs had pushed that angle strongly but to no avail. The strongest reason he could give himself for backing down was that the Council had payed much closer attention to Aven Skywalker than Birrs had. Their decision was made, and he could not do much more than make his opinion known and hope they take his information into consideration and share it with the rest of the Council.

The whole situation had left Birrs with reason enough for meditation, although Ravtik an Amethyst made it practically an order. It did, however, make reflective time such as this even more appreciated, more potent. He had slowed his thoughts, focused on the present, stayed aware of the future on the horizon, kept the past in his thoughts, laying them into the present equation when seemingly applicable. He felt cleaner and stronger, all because of the disagreement and intensity of his meeting with the two Council members.

Force give me strength, Birrs thought to himself. It was an unneeded request, though. The Force always gave him strength. He was ready to start his day.

Standing in the middle of the camp, Aven stretched out with the force trying to feel what had only become a small memory. He was trying to sense what it would be like being back on Coruscant, not being exiled.

He had saw Birrs talking with Master Ravtik and Master Amethyst, perhaps they were discussing where to send some Jedi to explore the unknown regions or to find new allies within the known regions of the galaxy. Either way he wanted to find out. He walked over, trying to bury his darkside feelings down inside of him.

"Master Birrs?" Aven said as he got nearer, "May i have some time to talk with you?"

"I have been to the Council, they have helped me little for the moment." Birrs looked around at the awakening village. "In fact, in more words than a few, they told me to tend to my own business. I don't think they'd take kindly to my continued discussions with you ... but ... I will do what I feel is right. Shall we take this conversation away from prying eyes and ears?"

Finally raising her head, unsure of what she planned to do next, Sera looks around the mess hall. It was still blissfully quiet, a very strange stillness seeming to have settled upon all the Jedi. Stiffly raising herself out of her chair, she moves to leave the hall. Bumping into someone on her way through the door, she barely glances up but then stops in shock.

“Master Vajra! I didn’t see… I didn’t mean… that is…” blushing furiously, Sera wonders when the last time she had felt this embarrassed was.

“It is quite alright, my young Twi’lek friend. I was actually on my way to find you. But it looks like my news may have already reached you…” the Master pauses in his talking to look the dancer up and down. Her clothes really were out of place for the usually flamboyant woman. “In a day or two the Council will send Aven out to a small farming planet, closer to the Republic border. We have some hope that they will be open to some trade with us, and that it will distract the young Skywalker from some of his darker thoughts. I want you to go with him, Sera, and the Council has agreed.”

Sera can’t stop her mouth from opening in shock. “ME?? But Aven Skywalker HATES me!”

Vajra smiles slightly as he nods his head a touch. “There is a certain amount of strong feelings there. Whether it goes as far as hate is yet to be determined. It is risky sending you with him, especially if his feelings do go as far as hatred for you, but there are those amongst the Masters that feel it would better for the young man to confront his inner demons now, rather than later. He still may fall to the dark-side, but we all hope he will not.”

Sera cannot prevent the confusion from blanking her mind for several minutes. “If Aven does hate me, and he does fall to the dark-side, doesn’t that mean there will be a very good chance he will try to kill me?”

The Master solemnly nods his head. “There would be a very good chance, if the darkness consumes him. That is why we are still deciding if we will send another with you two; and why I have approached you now, in this manner. I still do not know when you will be sent, but I want you to be prepared.”

And with that, Master Vajra leaves Sera gaping in astonishment as he glides up the street, and into the Council’s pre-fab shelter.

Aven looked around there seemed to be a few Jedi stopping trying to find out what was going on, they probably wanted him to strike out or do something simular to that. The crest of a brilliant golden sun nestled amidst a sky of fiery morning clouds peeked up from behind frozen mountains that rested in the distance beyond an expanse of frozen wasteland. Birrs Kaumindar and Aven Skywalker walked lazily along the outskirts of the Jedi settlement in similar contrast, their conversation demanding careful handling and attention. Birrs kept himself safely distanced through the Force from Aven, but close enough to let any signals sent be appropriately dealt with. When he felt he was as secure as he could be, he opened himself to communication.

"Where are your thoughts taking you, Aven?"

"To a place that has haunted my ancestors and now haunts me" he replied.

He figured Birrs would take more from what he had said than the actual words that he had spoked. As his insides seemed to be gettting darker and his thoughts were always of a slightly dark nature, although he was able to hide these emotions some of the time. He quickly looked back towards the Jedi camp, this in all those months since arriving here this was the calmiest he had felt, being out here with his thoughts and his kind of mentor.

The visions that had come to Birrs in his attempt at sleep seemed to drip off of the words that Aven spoke.

"Aven, we all have our own trials in life, more so for a Jedi, even more so for a Jedi with a family history such as yours. But that must be dealt with. Your bloodline, your inclusion in a potent and influential congregation of Force energy ... You cannot escape the questions, the trials that need to be confronted to bring answers and ultimately peace. For you and for all who become uprooted by the strength you carry within yourself. The strength of your own, compiled with the strength of your ancestors."

Birrs pulled in a breath and held it while they both could absorb the weight of his words. He eventually let it out and stopped walking. He looked upon the small Jedi village with Aven.

"There is unrest this morning among the Jedi. It is different from our usual disagreements and struggles, though. And it is centered around you."

Turning to Aven, he made sure his gaze was steady, his mind to match. Calm and aware. He asked a question he thought he knew the answer to.

"What has happened, Aven? Tell me. What have you done?"

Birrs' senses stayed sharp, unsure how Aven would react, but knowing how he was capable of reacting. He put more distance between himself and Aven, keeping his fingers close to his saber as they could be without contact.

"I don't know how the Council has not felt this. Even with as much shadow surrounding your path, they should have seen this, maybe even prevented it."

He tried to push the vision of the fallen Jedi out of his mind. He could not focus hard enough to determine the identity, and he wasn't sure he wanted to at this moment.

"Trials, Aven. Questions. Decisions. It is all part of every path. I have hope for you, even after this development. But I have duty and obligation. I have more peoples' well being to consider. I won't let them down, and I won't let you down. This is what is going to happen."

He paused for that last statement to drive itself into Aven's mind, then repeated it to keep there. "This is what is going to happen. You can leave this planet, an outcast to our Order. Run away from your duty as a Jedi. Completely abandon all who may have once held some hope for your success. Those who needed you to be strong for protection, those who needed you to be compassionate and understanding.

"Or, you can come with me back to the Council. We will calmly discuss the situation, but I cannot protect you from the Council's decisions. If you truly wish for peace you will accept this offer. It is the strongest start to rehabilitation you will get. You are killing yourself, Aven.

"Or there is one last decision that you can make right now, but I don't think either of us wishes to take part in that. Another dead Jedi will be of no help to anyone."

Without looking at Birrs, Aven could sense the masters uneasyness. "If you do not wish the third option then why are your figures so close to your lightsaber."

He took a deep breath, his insides were telling him to strick at Birrs and get it over with and then attempt to take the entire camp on. He couldnt understand why but he pushed those feelings aside. "I will go to the council with you, i will face any punishment they have for me. If it be exile then so be it"

He knew they may send him away, away from this planet that has pushed him further down a path none of them wanted him to go. Perhaps they would exile him, but wouldnt that just make the problem worse or perhaps it would help him see why they have feared him for so long. He might find the answers he is looking for out in the galaxy. He did hope that they would keep him within the order to find the source of his darkness or even just to guide him back to some sort of light. Either way, Aven was prepare for what ever they would sentence him, as he knew death would never be one of the sentences.

Unfortunately, history showed clearly that the Jedi Council had difficulties finding the right path to take with Skywalkers. Doubt was probably etched across his features.

Still mentally linked with the others he asks, “Do we know if we will send another? Two will stand a better chance if Aven does turn.”

Master Ravtik growled out a low response. “Another would show that we do not trust him, and could result in two dead among us.”

Master Ro quietly adds more. “Two more dead amongst us, Brother. Young Skywalker has killed once already, but he is still not past redemption. He comes to submit to our will. Nothing changes about the plan; it will be a short-term exile now, and I am sure that Vajra’s warning has already put the Twi’lek on guard. They will be here shortly.”

The simple walk back to the Council's meeting quarters had been made in silence, and now that Birrs stood with Aven before their destination, the comforting breeze he had met with earlier was nowhere to be found. Birrs was no stranger to the dark side, but he was by no means an expert on dealing with those who were influenced by it. It was not a task to be handled carelessly. You could not think of a dark user as an enemy if your intention was redemption, but that caution and defense against such an evil force was a natural reaction.

Birrs let a deep breath blow away any apprehension as he followed Aven in to meet with the Council. Whether they agreed on his views of the situation or not, they were if nothing else support in case things went very bad very quickly.

He stopped a few meters into the shelter and let Aven approach them alone. The Council didn't seem nearly as distraught or concerned as Birrs thought they would be after sensing Aven's deadly confrontation. Perhaps they don't know.

"We are sending you to a small agricultural planet just outside the Republic border along with Sera and possibly Master Birrs if he accepts" started Vajra, who thought it best not to inform Skywalker that they knew what had taken place and is taking place within him.

Master Ravtik, sat almost quietly on the edge of the council, occassionally making a low growl, he did not trust Skywalker and thought it was foolish of the council to send him away from them with two other Jedi when they were unaware how deeply the darkside had taken grip within him.

Ha! They have no idea. Aven thought to himself as waited for the other masters to comment on what was at hand, he believed he had actually gotten away with it. He quickly looked back towards Birrs and smiled before turning back to the council.

Feeling waves of a strong emotion that could only really be described as gloating coming from the young Skywalker, Master Ro lets out a low growl.

“Part of this is as an exile for what you have done of course. But we are not past hope for you Skywalker. This is a difficult time for you, and we feel it would be better made away from the Padawans. It is simply because we do think that you will make the right decision that we are sending you with at least one companion.”

Vajra still didn’t think that it was a smart idea to announce so coldly that they knew what Aven had done, but he wasn’t going to publicly speak against the Master.

“All that is left is for Master Birrs to decide if he will accompany you, then you can join up with Sera. She knows of the journey, so should have her things nearly packed. Master Amethyst has prepared the ship that you will use for your journey.”

Even though he had been given a form of exile, would they use this time that he is away to give him a full exile or was they sending Sera to intimdate him so that both sheand Master Birrs can strike him down.

The inclusion of Birrs into the plans came as a surprise to him. It shouldn't have, since there were many reasons it seemed fitting; he had dealt with this kind of situation before, it was him who had most recently had productive contact with Aven, he had spent years tutoring padawans through difficult trials, being a Titavian was some balance to Sera and Aven's disposition as Daywings.

His shocked expression must have lingered longer than he was aware of because the Council's glares within and without the Force had to bring him back to the matter at hand. He let his hands fall to his sides. "I ... I'm not sure I can make a decision so quickly. You are essentially putting Sera and I into exile in order to oversee Aven's, for an undertermined amount of time. I know it is not meant to be a punishment, but if it is my decision, I don't think I can make it so quickly."

The Council allowed Birrs a breath to refocus his thoughts before he continued.

"I propose that I stay here on Ultar IV, for the time being. If I should choose to join Aven and Sera, I can arrange transport myself."

"So where shall we be sent to then?" Aven asked the council breaking the silence, "When do we leave?"

Master Vajra was the first to break the Council’s silence, answering Skywalker’s demanding questions.

“You will leave within the next couple of days. We give you this time to prepare yourself for your time away from us, and to say your farewells to any that you may wish to. But we do want you to leave as soon as you can.”

Master Ravtik continued in his low growl. “As was stated before, you will be traveling to a small agricultural planet. The coordinates are already in the ship you will be using, but so you know, the name of the planet is Valgus III. The Valgians are friendly, and somewhat earthy, people due to generations of farming. “They’ve offered me the chance to leave the planet to add what help I can to his rehabilitation,” said Birrs. “I haven’t accepted just yet, but I do think this would be an opportune time for me to venture out and meet with the other contacts you’ve spoken of.” Sitting on the ground in front of him here, as he found shadowy shelter amid the iced outcroppings of a rocky mountainside, he spoke freely and comfortably with the robed and hooded image in the hologram before him. The holo strained to maintain form, and the delay would be a burning annoyance to most, but Birrs had accepted such limitations long ago. Most Jedi had.

Finally, the figure responded in spite of the onslaught of spits, pops, scrapes and scrambles its electronic messenger experienced. As if that wasn’t enough to mask the figure’s voice, it had personally taken measures to do so. It spoke in a low, drowsy grumble that reminded Birrs of a hungry hutt’s stomach. Birrs also detected restraint, as though there was so much more it wanted to say. “Agreed. I’ve been watching things … out here. Sources say the Republic will need additional forces and guidance … in an upcoming stuggle. I’d prefer the Jedi return on more peaceful terms … but it’s an opening still.”

Birrs nodded silently, regretfully. “You know I want nothing more than a peaceful reentry. The other Jedi are well aware of my passive ways, though some may come to question that once the reality of the situation has been revealed to them.” Birrs started, then stopped. He struggled with the decision to ask the figure his next question, but ultimately decided to. “As you’ve said, you will have enough support to at least win consideration from the rest of the Repubic, yes?”

After the usual delay, the low-slow-talking figure responded with a reassuring confidence. “Birrs … friend … I wouldn’t bring the Jedi back … if I thought they would be worse off for it. You will have support … and protection. In fact … we’ll speak again after you join your fellow Jedi. I may be able to visit in person. We will accomplish more that way. I will bring spokesmen for the support I’ve promised.”

A spurt of reluctance ran through the Jedi, probably because this would most likely prove to be a pivotal moment in their plan, and it was definitely putting more risks in the process. But he decided this course of action was the best one to take. “Very well. But I must warn you, a Jedi struggling with the dark side of himself is not a safe predicament one would want to find themselves in.”

“That’s … understood. I have confidence in your ability to protect us should we have a problem … but I don’t think we will. We’ve been so cautious for so long. We’ll be okay. Until then, Master Kaumindar.”

The holo flickered out just as an incoming presence tickled Birrs’ senses. He opened himself enough to detect his padawan, Jend Geeladan, approaching. He sighed, grabbing the holoprojecter and tucking it behind his belt. It was time to don his daily mask of deception, as he had for so much longer than he wished was necessary. Truly these were trying times for the Jedi.

He had quickly gathered his items and placed them within a backpack and then had walked over to the transport. He had recieved some very strange looks from many of the Jedi, who were actually happy that he was leaving but did not want to show it in fear he would strike out at them.

In away Aven was quite pleased to leave this dreaded planet, maybe he would have the chance to explore his darkside as it was building up inside of him waiting to be fully unleashed. All he had to wait for now was Sera.
