I voted suicide. Simply because, if going by the hypothetical that death is imminant such as in impending enemy capture and torture, execution by dictator or sadistic villain, and it comes down to an absolute "die or be killed anyway", I'd rather see it coming, and do it under my own control. With that said, gun shot seems quick enough to be painless, though I'd still be afraid to pull the trigger. But going back to the hypothetical, I'd prefer to pull the trigger than have it be pulled.

Depending on the circumstances, I don't really think fear would be a factor giving the choice. Endless torture or pull the trigger yourself.

Gunshot. Once i thought the situation when you die in open shootout is the best possible way to die for me. Fast, no death expectations ( it is definitely not good to be shot after being hostage for few days/weeks/years) and stuff, no hospitals, no tortures, no slow weakening through life leaking out of you with every single day, no. Other case is something like our russian roulette - but this one is extremely close to other choice in this poll... suicide.

Suicide is interesting too, but for me it can be done when all the despair of the world will invade the soul, and total life disappointment or some major physical disfunction is near that word - anyway it is a preferrable escape out of hopeless ugly existense and constant menthal hell. Also there is a darkest sweetness in this word - this is the worst sin in many religions - the only unforgivable sin in Christianity, for example. I think when people really go for it they are suffering too much to think about close friends or wise enough to completely cut those ties off before; and loads of pain is delivered to relatives in result anyway but who knows what pain is worst - to observe slow death and suffering of loved one or to cry over her/his grave and let go, so it is a hard choice to vote for that end, but frankly i was close to vote for it myself (through gunshot). I feel no shame about it. I must say I never disrespected those who commit suicide, and i always hated those who fake it.

After first few drunk dirty dark weeks i would deny exhaustion - even through the most wonderful sex with gourgeous beauty - it would take a really long time and definitely sex would not be such a pleasure on the last horrible weeks when body would turn into a weak shell for a tired soul (so i hear gunshot there near the end, i say two gunshots - such disappointment is not a good thing).

You see, if I was to die, I would prefer the least "messy" death. Being chopped up, eaten, and being burned to death are all good and fine, however, they cause a great deal of unnecessary pain. I might want to go in an epic battle, for at least I get a chance to defend myself. I couldn't stand a death with no choice involved, such as capital punishment. I need to be directly responsible for the way I go.
