Is it possible that Qui-Gon was a sith in disguise and saw the anikins futue as a sith lord? And that he did actually order the clone troopers and asked for them to know order #66?

No way! At that time, Sidious was strictly following the rule of two, one master and one apprenctice, and Qui-Gon was certainly not one of them. He was a bona-fide 100% Jedi. :) :welcome: by the way!!

Man, you're slating one of my heroes! Agreed with Sarah above, he was 100% Jedi and was the first to learn to be able to maintain a presence through the force after his physical body had died. He was very wise and although he did not always succumb to all the ideology of the Jedi council he was certainly no Sith!

So as long as you agree with that I will say :welcome: :tease:

Not a chance of a dark side dance.
There was no Sith in those Jedi pants.

*sob* How could you???????
Qui a sith???
Never! He was one of the wisest jedi at the time of his *sob* death!
And when other jedi passed away none of them could become force ghosts!
No sith can do that!

Well it would make him more interesting than he ever was during the TPM

That's harsh, I think along with Darth Maul he is one of the most intriguing characters in the whole series. The fact that you do not get to find out much about them as they are on screen for so little time just adds to their mystique.

Man, I thought he was a stiff, he just talked a lot and then got owned by Maulie. Obi is a far more interesting character to ponder if he was a darkside double agent!! Sorry, I think I was scarred by the monotomy and boredom of TPM.

Qui-Gon a stiff? Hardly. People think Qui-Gon isn't interesting only for the shallow reasoning that he went 0-1 in lightsaber duels in the movies. Wah wah. Qui-Gon is one of the most interesting Jedi going: the guy who trains Obi-Wan, is always on the wrong side of the Council, discovers Anakin, and finds the way to Force-ghostyness. Qui-Gon is one of my favorite Star Wars characters in existence.

Qui-Gon was a free thinker, almost a radicalist within the Jedi Ranks. Dooku tried to use that to put doubt in Obi-Wan's mind in AOTC. Qui-Gon seemed to have a somewhat purer perspective on a Jedi's role and relationship with the force which seemed opposite to the Jedi Council's belief of what role they, politically, serve the Republic.

In other words, he wasn't a Sith, just a non-conformist ;)

"I'll do what I must Obi-Wan"

And he recognized the flaws of being a non-conformist... He accepted responsibility for his actions. Boring? Nah, not Qui-gon. Sith? Nope, no way.

Obi Wan a 'darkside double agent'??!! Based on everything he did throughout the 6 films?! I see no evidence, nor can think of any reason as to how Obi could be considered to be a 'darkside double agent'. Perhaps you were far TOO scarred by TPM (which I consider to be an interesting, good film, but not great) to see the truth! :tease:

He didn't agree with everything the jedi belive, yet he was one the council? Right?

I don't believe Qui-Gon was a member of the Jedi Council hence why he asked permission to train Anakin. I'm sure if he was on the Council he wouldn't of needed to stand before them to plea his case.

It was stated in TPM that he was not on the Council. Obi-Wan mentioned that Qui-Gon probably could have been on the Council had he coincided with their line of thought a bit more often.

and look where it got him... x_x

I must say, you folks stick up a lot for a guy who stalemated his first battle w/ maulie and died the second time. Misplaced loyalty?

Character depth isn't soley based on fighting ability. If you judge a character based on how strong of a fighter they are alone, that's leaving out a lot of things, and uselessly, too. I certainly judge the characters with more depth.

And his free thinking was not what got him killed. Maul was simply an uncharacteristically good lightsaber duelist. Had nothing to do with Qui-Gon's free thinking tendencies.

I agree, Darthsolo... Qui-gon was a "stability" within the story. He answered questions, directed the audiences attention and ...damn! It's Liam Neeson!

I cried at that part in the movie. I whispered no, and my nephew whispered yes.
