Just wondering…

what happened to Vader after Han shot his Tie fighter in the battle of the 1st Death Star? Did he spin all the way back home or something??

That's a good question. Hell, how far could he go in a tie-fighter, anyway?

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I believe he went to Coruscant.

But how did he get there. Tie-Fighters don't have hyperdrive so he couldn't have gotten there by going using sublight engines. Yavin is on the OUter Rim, that would take years. Plus his ship was already damaged. This is another Lucas mistake I think.

He landed somewhere nearby. Stole a ship with hyperdrive. Went back to Coruscant, or some other command center area. End of story.

Darth Vader's Tie Advanced does have hyperdrive. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I forgot about to the extent of the special treatment he got when it came to hardware.

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif But his ship wa still pretty damaged right , so perhaps it didn't go so easy.

He had to land on a different planet because his Vader's Tie Advanced was too damaged, and then found a differnt transport to Corucsant. Wether his ship was repaired or he simply took some other ship onthat planet I don't know.

Uhhh dude, you don't know that it was too damaged, really it wasn't, the Millenium Falcon went into lightspeed several times when it was far more damaged than Vader's vessel, that was only slightly nicked by another tie, possibly lowering his deflector shields, but there's was no clear damage done to vader's ship. He obviously went to Coruscant or another Imperial base under his own ships power.

he just got bumped. He lost control and got flung out of the death star

His ship wasnt damaged at all, he just got bumped from the other tie from hitting the death stars trench and then spinning off to space and than getting a diffrenent transport

He didn't get a different transport, his ship has hyperdrive.

My Mistake, He didnt get a different transport, he stayed with his tie advance. But his tie was never damaged and he didnt go to corousant but went to a star destroyer , well thats what i read on a different website

yes vaders ship was one of the first ties to have a hyper drive, he just went into lightspeed and back to where ever

starwars.com, has nothing that says he went back, they just say that he tie xa1 helped him when he was in the depths of space, so no officical stuff.....

Well as everyone has commented.

1. Vader's ship does have hyerdrive so he would've hyperdrived back to Coruscant to the Emperor.
2. It was bumped and I do not believe that it would've sustained too much damage
3. On the off chance that it did indeed incur significant damage, then from the PT we know that Anakin can repair almost anything so Vader shouldn't have had too much trouble in getting it back up and running.

vader flew away unharmed. that's all we know. anything else is useless speculation.

Yeah, but the hyperdrive is only a class IV, there's no way he could have gotten to Coruscant on that thing's air and fuel supplies, he had to have stopped somewhere.

Well then he must have.

I always just assumed he flew somewhere and got picked up by a Star Destroyer. I guess he could have hyper-drived it to the nearest Star Destroyer then, if his hyper-drive is only Class IV (what the hell is Class IV, and how do you know that? Nevermind, EU...more like PU)

He probably just hyperjumped out of the Yavin area, and rondezvoused with a Star Destroyer somewhere.

Who cares? There are so many more pertinent things to speculate about.

speculation: Darth waited for the rebels to leave the sector and called for someone to come pick him up or something like that.

1. First of all, his fighter wasn't damaged.
2. He would know where the nearest Imperial base is wouldn't he?
3. He would probably have HoloNet comm facilities on his ship, so he can contact the nearest base or Star Destroyer ( as well as locate them)
4. According to the EU , I think one Admiral Griff came back to destroy the alliance (but that is EU, so maybe it should be disregarded, because the same EU says Vader lost his right hand after the DS fiasco, but we now know that he lost it long before, namely at the beginning of the Clone wars)
