What happened to Obi-Wan's lightsabers?

I mean in TPM it falls down the shaft and it might have survived as lukes did in ESB. And what happens to it on the death star? And what happens to Qui-gon's lightsaber after Naboo? Please Comment!

Qui-Gon's must have been taken by the Jedi Council, put into some sort of "Famous Jedi Collection" where they keep bleongings from dead jedi. As for Obiwans - it died in theee trash compactor... or something.

The thing about Obi's lightsaber is this. The one he has in the first one is the same one he has in the second one. If you look at it they're the same saber. Don't ask me how he got it back. Then he loses it when's captured by Dooku and is given some random one at the battle of Geonosis but due to a lack of film continuity has his original one when dueling with Dooku.

Then in Episode 3 he has the one he has in the OT and his other one has disappeared. He loses that one when he is killed by Darth Vader. However, it turns up again during Anakin Solo's early training on some place where Vader had some secret fortress where he kept his old master's saber. Finally, I believe Luke takes it and keeps on the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV and that's its last known whereabouts.

Actually, Vader's castle was called Bast Castle on the planet Vjun.

Also, the saber he had in AOTC was not the same one he had in TPM. He used Qui-Gon's saber for at least a couple years after the battle on Naboo before he built himself a new one that looked very similar to his original one. The, as is tradition as I understand it, he built a new saber when he was appointed to the Jedi Council, which is the same one he has in ANH when he duels Vader.

During the films Obi Wan always gets back his original lightsaber, Until he disappears and becomes one with the force in ANH. There Vader took his lightsaber and kept it until they found it in some secret Vader's place, after that Luke looks over the saber, I think.

Now how did they manage that? Isnt Bespin a gas planet? Then Lukes saber should have fallen down toward the core of the planet and been smashed by the gravity down there, leaving nothing to be found.

That's EU anyway and isn't a valid source of argument in this area of the site. This is the movies/novels based on movies only. Those of us who don't bother with the EU have no clue what Wayland is or who Luuke is. Nor do we care to know I imagine.

I think that they make new ones for every movie. They have a big collection of lots of sabers that include stunt ones, belt ones, and just ones. They include what shots they were used in and what actor used it.

They made lots of them.

Yup what? We're discussing Obi-Wan the character, and how he had a similar looking saber in AOTC to the one he lost in TPM, and you started talking about the props department making multiple props. Of course they do, but how does that further this discussion from a cinematic standpoint?

To continue this discussion where it left off, he obviously made a new lightsaber after it was lost down the shaft in TPM, and I think he would have gotton a new one anyways when he became master right? Isn't it ceremony or something to get a new lightsaber or someting?
