But if he did become "President" he would have continued the fight against the Confederacy. He might have won.

In my delicate story the Tantive IV would be sucked into giant space slugs throat, be almost digested and then escape in a similair manner to the Millenium Falcon and persue its journeys throughout the galaxy with Captain Antilles. They would become heroes known throughout the galaxy. It would join a unit of CEC Corvettes and be named Rouge Squid-Ron and replace Rogue Squadron. Together on their journeys they defeat the almighty emperor and take over the galaxy. When they die everyting returns to normal and they become forgotton forever. That would be my account of the story.
