As The Galaxy Turns

[Darth Fabulous]

This is a fun role playing game I came up with. Think of it as Days of Our Lives meets Star Wars. Set in Coruscant a few years before Episode II, this epic story will revolve around Senators, their families, Jedi, and any other people they might interact with. Darth Insightful will direct this saga and also make some cameo appearances as Yoda, Palpatine, etc. All stage direction will be in italics and posted by the director. If you are interested in participating you will need to choose a character from the list below and make a post where you state the background information including your character's name. For example: if you want to be a male Gran senator from Malastare you would post:

Male Gran Senator from Malastare
Name: Jimbo Zimbabwe
Backstory: Grew up poor on Malastare, joined a gang of death stick smugglers and quickly rose up the criminal chain to control all death stick trade on Malastare. Elected senator after blackmailing several politicians on Malastare, etc.

You get the idea. If you choose to be the wife, child, etc. of an existing character, make your info fit. Please, make you names sound Star Warsish.

I will be playing the part of Xan-Rae Winn
Human male Jedi Knight
Born on Naboo, about 24 years old, son of a wealthy family. He has not seen much action, but is a skilled force user. He has a human female Padawan, who is nearly ready for the trials. Follows the will the council word for word without question.
Currently assigned to investigate a connection between the senator from ______ and the notorious criminal ring _______ that trades Twi'lek slaves and death sticks.

Here is the list of available characters:

I am Pter Thanas. I am Senator for the Coruscant system and i have a permanent seat on the Security Council of the Senate. I am a supporter of Palpatine's reforms. I came from a ruined and long time broked noble family that i took back to the glory thanks to my potical abilities. I am defiant person that fights for its ideals but also i am very greedy, selfish ,egoist, perfeccionist ,sadistic and critic.

Antoher name i can use is Pter Rocha because Pter Thanas is already used in the EU.

Now at the age of twenty she has journeyed with her Master on many diplomatic missions. She is almost ready for the trials, but she is very headstrong, arragont, and strong willed.

Backstory: Sonja Virul was a happy throneworld girl, minding her own business on Coruscant, when she was kidnapped and taken to the harem of Arlga the Hutt. There, she was subject to cruelty and slavery, and lost her innocence. After several years of servitude, Sonja decided to enact her own vengeance on Arlga and stabbed him with a shattered transparasteel drinking class. Brutally desensitized by her experiences, she vowed that she would never be vulnerable again. She was willing to take any measures to get on top, and if that meant through the underworld--then she would be willing.

I would like to apply for the role of the criminal leader.

Krogenar, an unknown race, thought to be possibly half-gamorrean. Hailing from one of the Outer Rim territories, he's a former bounty hunter. Animalistic, he can remember most people by their scent alone. Short, with red-brown hair, he's uneducated, but his natural-born brutality has served as a good substitute. Endowed with an animal-like agility and endurance, Krogenar isn't precisely evil or good - he's just looking to turn a profit.

The name of his organization would be, 'The Tenth Pit' - it's members (bounty hunters) mark their kills by carving or placing a tiny 'x' somewhere nearby or on the victim.

If this role has already been taken, Krogenar could be used as a bit player, as a bounty hunter of some kind, if that fits into your story better.

TuTu - An androgynous human with an eyepatch, glasses, moustache, bandana, cigarillo and earmuffs garbed in an overcoat and a slinky red evening gown. Born to privilege, when TuTu's family was killed off in a Frinch Pirate raid, TuTu was brought on as love-slave and cabin boy to the captain, a Wookie by the name of Sheila. Following three failed escape attempts, TuTu was "rescued" when Krogenar's pleasure-cruiser accidentally bumped the ship while docking and all members of the crew surrendered. Swearing a life-debt to Krogenar (much to the poor criminal's chagrin), TuTu follows closely, nearly sacrificing itself regularly to protect him.

Sure you can be in. We want to avoid using actual characters. Padme is Naboo's senator during the time frame our soap opera is set in, and Padme may make a cameo appearance so it would be nice if you could choose another location to be senator of.

So far it looks like we have a group of participants that have a great deal of potential. Now, I won't have a regular character that I play, but I will decide when cameo appearances are made and will be playing that character, unless someone else wants to be a certain character for a short while. Let me know if that's the case and I'll be happy to oblige.

She does runs at record speeds and all she really wants is to know who her parebts were. She is really good at heart, but she was taught some bad things.

Name: Rohk VanDiv
Species: Weequay

Background: Once a feircely loyal enforcer to Biluba the Hutt, he was released after eight years of service due to the untimely death of Biluba at Rohk's own hands when he discovered Biluba intended to kill him first after a particularly unfriendly game of Sabaac. Biluba's half brother Arlga the Hutt swore vengence on Rohk. He ordered 13 bounty hunters to kill him. After killing eight of the menacing hunters himself, the bounty was lifted when Arlga himself was killed by one of his harem. Considering it a life-debt... Rohk dedicated himself to the service of this now powerful criminal leader. Rohk is a cunning and contemplative killer and con artist and has fifteen braided top-knots signifying his fifteen years off his homeworld.

I would like to be an outcast Jedi called "Torgo" - banished for his hard-drinking lifestyle, and his dedication to eating copious amounts of bacon. Think of him as a Canadian Jedi. He has a mullet, a large beer gut, and flies about in a junky freighter in the shape of a hockey stick. He uses his Jedi Mind Powers (now greatly diminshed) to try to win at petty games of Sabbac.

He was recently the toast of the town when the fearsome Frinch Butte Pirate fleet inadvertantly surrended to him when their ships gently bumped each other.

Krogenar is a bounty hunter from the Outer Rim territories. His race is one that's currently uncatalogued by the Republic, but to most he appears to be human, with a hint of Gamorrean. His features are mildly piggish. He has a feral sort of quality about him, eschewng the high-tech weaponry most bounty hunters use, opting instead to use his own natural strength, ferocity and heightened physical senses to track his marks. To date, he hasn't hired himself out as a contract killer, but has performed admirably as a man who can "find" people. Amiably uncultured, he prefers the wild, open spaces of far-off worlds to the politicking of the Core Worlds. He has limited knowledge of technology, politics, science and other important subjects. His most noteworthy attribute are his powerful legs. He often runs from location to location - whenever possible - not trusting modern vehicles.

I can play either role - whichever you think would be more useful.

And what's so hard to know about an androgynous human former wookie love slave and captive to the Frinch rescued by Krogenar accidentally while owning him a life debt all while wearing an overcoat, red cocktail dress, fedora, bandana, eyepatch, spectacles, moustache and carrying a cigarillo? I'm one of the best developed characters in this bloody thing!

Somewhere along the line he got amnesia and lost most of his memory.

Homeworld: Corellia

Appearance: very pale skin, strikingly green eyes, and a few pale "freckles" on her nose. Textured red hair reaches to her lower back. She stands at a short 5'2" on her best days, on her worst, 5'1". She is very attractive, yet not...how you say gorgeous.

Backstory: Born Earsina Lichella Averroés to Politicians Kallh and Eliezielle Averroés on the planet Corellia, she led a rather modest childhood. Her parents' earlier careers as politicians greatly influenced her decisions as to how she would live. She entered Politics School at the age of 8, and studied until she was 11, it was then that she was offered a spot in the Legislative Youth Program. In this program, she met Padmé Amidala Naberrie, a girl of her age who became her good friend. When she was 15, she was offered an apprenticeship to the senator from Corellia at that time, Senator Juto. When she was 18, Senator Juto resigned from his position, and requested that she take over for him. Now in her second year as Senator Averroés, Earsina has learned great responsibility for her people and ideas.

Just a suggestion, but I think my character should either have an affair with an older married women, a younger married women, be in a love triangle with several women, or be sort of skanky like James Bond a new girl every Episode.

Those are the sort of things you have in soap operas, and my character seems like the right guy for that job.

Afterwards he was brought to Coruscant where he was pronounced unfit for military service. He took a job as a cabby since his altered DNA made sleep a thing of the past, and he could work 34/8/465. His first fare was a blind kid with a nasty disposition with a seeing eye droid trying to find the jedi temple. Isamu took 8,000 of the kids 10,000 credits and dropped him in the lower levels of Coruscant.

Krogenar, Tutu, the Frinch, and Proper Use of Inertial Dampeners.
Chapter 1

Krogenar lazed back in the captain's chair and watched the stars drift past. The air in the cabin was hot and smelled of exotic spices. On the steel floor of the ship, Krogenar had had great difficulty building a proper cooking fire. He had resorted to focusing a lamp (which he was proud to have figured out how to operate) onto the metal floor, heating it to a point at which his food could be cooked.

His jagged teeth tore at a piece of dried meat, but he was running out of food, and fresh air. He looked down at a book he had found, dust-covered and forgotten, under one of the metal desks. It had pictures of the sky boat in it, and he whiled away the time trying to decipher the scribblings within.

Krogenar felt certain that the boat could be controlled through the desk. The desk was covered with more strange runes, like the book. He had touched the desk a few time experimentally, and the desk had turned different colors: red, in particular.

The strider knew from experience that red was a dangerous color. Certain spiders and other poisonous creatures were colored red. For a few fearsome seconds, he swatted at the desk, and the stars had spun around before his eyes. Backing away from the desk then, his body had automatically reacted to the movement, to steady himself. He had fallen over, since there was no movement to brace against. While the stars wheeled madly, he felt no movement in his belly. It was unnerving.

Now the runes on the desk, a series of circles and ellipses, were smeared with bits of food. Krogenar wiped at it now, and pictures flashed across the surface of it: blue whorls and yellow arches. He yawned, revealing a mouth that was missing a few fangs. Picking at some food caught in a tooth, he peered down at the edge of the desk, but couldn't see where the blue and yellow fire was burning.

Shrugging, he walked barefoot to his hammock in the back of the boat, where he had tied it up between two spurs of metal. He decided to give the problem more thought after resting. Using one of his sharp fingernails, he scratched a metal bubble on the wall above his hammock. There was a bar that moved across the bubble, from green to red. It moved very regularly, Krogenar had noticed, and with no sunset or sunrise to wake by, he used it to keep track of time. When the red line had passed a fingernail's width past his mark, he'd know it was time to get up and try to get control of the boat again.

As he slept, he dreamt of ordinary ships, with masts and riggings and sails, and the sway and sound of the ocean.

If I do not hear from those of you who are involved, I will make up some things about your character. If you want specific details of your own creation included, post them here.
