Fan Fiction Serial

Hey everyone. I've been tossing around the idea of writing a Star Wars fan fiction serial. A series of episodic short stories that follow the same cast of characters. I've actually been writing the first one and just want to hear some feedback on what people think and if there is interest in reading a long arching story.

The premise is that the story begins around the same time as ROTS and continues into the years prior to ANH. The characters in the story are all of my own making but I plan to try and make the story fit with ordinary canon as much as possible.

If you want to know more post questions and the like. Tell me what you think of this idea and if you would even bother reading a continuing story. If you think I have too much time on my hands, don't worry. I do have a life, I just do a lot of writing as a hobby and thought maybe I should just share a little. I'm thinking of maybe pursuing a career in writing and thought this may be a good way to practice and get feedback on my writing and stuff.

that is more or less what I have in mind with the the characters I have started, though I started with TESB. Several will be dieing soon *evil chuckles*

I like your time frame too, but I recomend just posting some of it and seeing how the Senate reacts. I find the other writers to be friendly and encouraging, for the most part. Are your characters jedi friendly or Vadar's boot lickers? A group of clones? or Fringe types.

That could be a fun time to run RPGs in too. Maybe run some jedi that manage to run from Vadar for a while, it would be amusing to write for a while with a character slated for choking. I'm sure there are some 'senior members' who would love to kill off characters in RPGs.

I did a Wheel of Time RPG Serial for several years and loved writing with the same character over that long of a time. It was great seeing both the characters and my writing skills develop, watching new characters come and go through their lives. Not to mention making...cyber friends with many great people and developing writing relationships with them.

Sure, go for it. I sorta would like to see anothers view on the powerful, espeically the Senators come to realize what they thought they got on Empire day isn't NEARLY what their actually getting.. But if the characters are well done, that's what will determine whether I'll continue to read or not. But I will give you a chance, I promise you that.

Well, the story will mostly take place on the fringe and set of characters are a combo of all of the above. The one's that will draw the most focus are the Jedi and Fringe characters.

I will be posting the first chapter soon. I'm almost done it and already have the next couple chapters planned out. So you're likely to see a new thread up by me that is dedicated just to the serial and comments and criticisms on it.

If you really want I could give a snippit of the first chapter as a taste test.

It may make it easier for people to read and follow if you do not post a whole chapter at once, some of my posts to my story may be a bit long winded.

I am happy to see another writer who thinks and writes big! Nothing wrong with shorties, sometimes that is all the tale is...

I've been thinking about this for quite some time. I have a general plot course and character development cycle for my main characters. I could write a couple novels out of it all.
