On FOX tonight they showed a clip where the president authorizes a raid to Xavier's school, and Senator Kelly is in the office protecting it. Looks like he did get something out of Magneto's mutation.

Well, there's no real proof that he's dead though... he simply reverted to water... perhaps it's a mutant power he now has that he can't control. When it happened, even though they said he was dead, I thought how easy it would be to bring him back as a liquid mutant of some kind. I remember discussing it after the first movie came out.

You never know. It's actually plausible in the Marvel Universe.

How else can the X-men combat the "doppelganger" impersonating him in politics. Xavier knows it's Mystique, so naturally they don't want an evil mutant in politics... they'd try something. Perhaps bringing back the original Kelly.

No, Senator Kelly is dead, as we saw, and was stated in the first film.

Mann, Mystique most likely isn't out to help the X-men as much as mutants in general, but she could be being that Nightcrawler (not sure if this is the case in the film) is her son.

To avoid the risk of "Is Senator Kelly really dead?" becoming the next "Sifo-dyas IS Sidious" type of thread... I'll defer until the movie comes out. LOL

But I still find his comments strange, as well as the fact that I had a problem with his death in the first one, thinking perhaps he would come back.

Oh well...

The previews look absolutely insane!! I cannot wait! After the relative disappointment of Daredevil, it will be nice to see comic book heroes combined with fine storytelling again.

Well Kopernikuz, if you can believe that they'll find a way to bring back the real Senator Kelly, then you shouldn't have a problem believing that Sifo-Dyas is Darth Sidious, should you?

Other than the fact that I'd have to admit that Sidious is a shape-shifting clone that was on the Council AND a Senator at the same time? Hrmm... well... it's a stretch... even for the SW universe...

A water mutant who can turn himself into water and then regenerate... well, in the Marvel universe that's incredibly plausible... hell it even has precedent.

Anyway....
