I hear people say it was invisible, but I could have sworn I saw a clone eating something that looked like a thin, white slab of processed something or other on Kamino.

After leaving Kamino, I'd think they would eat some sort of issued republic ration. It's probably out there in some sourcebooks or novels. I'm pretty ignorant about the clone wars, but give it some time and I'm sure someone here will pop in with some documented facts.

Take a closer look at the first pic, the plate has something in it.

That plate seems empty to me. There seems to be something in the bowl though. But it may be a trick of light. Also plate seems too shiny to accomodate food. I mean when we eat, there are some bits and pieces and some smeared sauce over the plate right? Even knife and fork are shiny and bright.

May be it's because of my eye sight, because it is not very good, but I still think those plates are empty. May be they were planning to fill them up with computer after the actual shoot, than somehow forgot it.:lol:

That must be correct, if the Kaminoans are advanced enough to clone a species exactly, they must be advanced enough to provide simple full nutrition packages that could easily be transported around by an army.

I don't think they would change their diet once they were back on base. Due to the ever changing demands of a war you never know when you'll need to go on a mission and what happens if you just ate a nice big cheeseburger right before but you didn't know you were going to have to leave, and then oops you get killed because the enemy catches you with your pants down.

What I meant by normal food is, food that is normal in Star Wars. Not food that we have on Earth. (I imagine it would look like a cantina with this old lunch lady giving you crappy food.)
