Return of the Jedi was my favorite because I love them Ewoks. They look like cuddly teddy bears and when they take on the Stormtroopers, it is funny.

That's funny , . . .
That's what some people's gripe with Jedi is. But to that I say . . . .
It's a fairy tale , . . .get over it!

Empire, because it has all the coolest stuff in it.

TOOOOOTALLY The Empire Strikes Back. Seriously, who doesn't love that movie? Even people who don't really like Star Wars but have watched it always agree the Empire is the best of them all. Apparently 'the acting is better'.

I love ROTJ for the chat between Luke and Leia about their family and the old ewok song. Also the final battle takes up more than half the film.

Agreed.
Return of the Jedi is my favourite. It is the movie where all stones fit into their places. Of course it is also the movie where Han is rescued.

Oh, yeah, and what's not to love? There's romance, fighting, Luke getting hurt and not to mention a totally unhappy ending! :happydance:

^ I like 'Return of the Jedi' because it has a happy ending! :happydance: And...I don't know. I guess I like everything being solved at the end. And I like Endor. Also I think the acting is good, even though I admit that the Empire Strikes Back does have very good acting too...

Return of the Jedi? Good acting?
Everybody knows, darling Hannah, that two certain people were very, very reluctant to be in that movie and so could not be bothered to use their talents properly. :( That sucks. As somebody somewhere once said, their appearance was phoned-in.
I will discuss this in detail with you later.
By the way, people, this is just my opinion. I am NOT slamming Carrie, Harrison or Return of the Jedi in any way.

^ Well, I still think that even if they did not want to be in that movie they acted well. I suppose they can't help it... Anyway, that's my opinion.

I had to vote for ANH. It's just classic.
And, as a personal preference, i really like the set up of a story, meeting the new characters, etc.
And... that's the movie that started it all for me.

For some reason, ESB is my favorite... IDK, maybe the Hoth battle does it, or the first duel with vader... just like it the best...

The answer I always give people whenever this question/discussion comes up is... the "the best" and "your favorite" are two different things. In other words, there are certain things which you can recognize as the best-made, highest quality, or most finely-crafted of their type.
But sometimes there other things, perhaps less expert, perhaps a little cruder, perhaps made with somewhat lesser quality, that may nevertheless rate as "your favorite" just because they contain certain elements that more closely connect with your own personal tastes and interests.
So... with that logic in mind, the answer I always give to this question is... there is no doubt that "The Empire Strikes Back" is the best film in the Star Wars saga. On every level, it is the best made, most high-quality film in the entire series. Bar none. Hands down. No questions asked. I always have said that, I always will.
But at the same time... "Return of the Jedi" was always my favorite film in the series. Because I love monster movies, and the entire first half of this film, God Bless it, is literally wallpapered with weird monsters. Because I love big, chaotic, messy space battles and I love speeder bikes and I love scout walkers, and I love the emotionally complex Luke/Vader fight. And I love Jabba and I love Leia in her metal bikini. I love that Sail Barge battle and I love the Emperor and I love seeing Luke as a mature Jedi. So what can I say. I will be the first to admit that ROTJ is flawed in many ways, it has many shortcomings and even a handful of moments that make me wince. But it's got all that other junk that just clicks with me sooo strongly. So, I gotta vote for it.
And forgive me for this overlong post but it seemed that such an answer, from a life-long, old-school SW fan, probably required a little bit of explanation!

I cannot name a single OT film that stands out as the best. Each one of the three films work together to carry the underlying theme about the power of redemption in regards to all people despite how badly they have screwed up. Without A New Hope The Empire Strikes Back would be a weaker film and so on.

I love ESB most for hundreds of reasons (mostly illogical ones  ) but the other two are still fabulous

Althought, I love them all Empire Strikes Back is my fav from the OT. It has action all the time, great locations (I really like Bespin's Cloud City), Vader vs Luke clash and him finding out who his real father is... It's just great! :happydance:
My favourite is ROTJ. May be because it was the first SW movie I saw.
