I would probably go as a Jedi, as in my GS name. In fact, I intend to design a costume ready for the next event. :)
:w00t: Costumes!
I'll be glad to be a consult for your costume making.
Very much enjoyed your CE diary. Like i needed the pre-emptive rep to get me to read it.
Some of my very few pictures I took at CE
*looks shamefaced*
I was too busy gawking and trying to spot decent Fetts.
I'm really tired tonight so I'll post properly tomorrow with my take on CE.
That's a decent Fett! :like:

Heh, I wanted to go as a Droideka - un-shielded of course - I just couldn't do too many forward-rolls, it hurt my neck
Great diary Andy, thank you very much for posting; I'm glad you all had a great time. Any drinking stories ;) !?- LOL
Can I ask, was Ian McDiarmid doing signings? Or was he just guest speaking? Did Rick 'drop' any news on up-coming Star Wars TV events etc?
Great news on the 400 episodes, thanks for that news as well.

unfortunately Ian McDiarmid was not doing signings, but I did get 30 seconds with him though.

No SC, there weren't really any 'over the top' drinking stories, we just hung out and had a good time. Flo was hungover to Mustafar on the Saturday morning though and to be fair I was not much better! She was definitely a bad influence on me.

That's a decent Fett! :like:
Yes, he was one of the three Fetts at the costuming panel (one of the two closest to us) and I have now made friends with both him and the other Fett that was with him!
They are Ronin677 and Mandalore697 from the dented helmet, and Ronin said I could have felt his bum if I'd wanted to!
*curses her metal body that she wasn't fast enough*
She was definitely a bad influence on me.
What!? I was on my best behaviour, I'd been totally warned by my boyfriend not to scare Andy!
Anyway, these are my new friends...
(I feel like I'm collecting Fett's like pokemon. Gotta catch 'em all!)
The last one is Mandalore697 being a total fanboy with Daniel Logan!

Great review of the weekend JMH, and good to see those pics too!

As Andy done it, I'll offer my view of the same weekend. My review will probably be more flabby and verbose
Thurs 12th
11am Andy phones me and asks me where I am at the airport, I tell him and go back to reading my book assuming he'll be a while. Moments later a pair of legs drift into view and I realise it's him and I look like I'm rudely ignoring him. I feel bad and try to be friendly. Andy is just amazed I can read. He is also stunned by my classy scarf.
1pm Safely ensconced in Andy's house and having had the tour, he cooks me lunch, which is very tasty. He says I'm more petite in the flesh than he imagined. He is my new best friend, and I decide 'no disintegrations'.
3pm After humming and hawing we decide to watch a film, then go to the pub. After much bickering we decide randomly on the worst film ever to come out of Scotland (and that's saying something). We are immediately bonding due to the trauma of seeing the leading lady naked and in the most passion dampening sex scene ever...ever. We try to keep our lunch down. Andy is impressed by my use of swear words, I can tell. Classy.
6pm We go to find alcohol, and talk about everyone *snerk* We eat in a lovely establishment and really enjoy the food, even if they charge about a more money by calling their chips 'Pomme de Neuf'. The town is deserted, it seems someone has informed them I have arrived.
2am Collapse drunkenly into Andy's bed...alone, I might add.

ooohhh - nice pics! what bridge is that? what a great concept
It's not a famous one or anything like that, it is just one that crosses the Thames by the ExCel building. It was totally impromptu as there just happened to be a SW drinks session at the cafe bar on the waterfront. Watching it was almost as good as hearing the title music begin for ROTS, after waiting all those years! :w00t:

I continue...
Friday 13th
6am We surprise ourselves by actually getting up in time and with little problem. Andy doesn't look like he's suffered too much sleeping on his sofa and I feel fully refreshed as his bed is extremely comfortable and apparently I had his best sheets (which are very soft and fancy, ladies...). Against all odds the traffic is light and we arrive in good time to a completely deserted car park, it's like a scene from 28 Days Later. There are no banners or signs even suggesting there is a convention within 100 miles. After much confusion we enter the building and start walking, after a while the cry goes up 'There's people down there! I can see them!'. We finally locate the other geeks. There is a worrying moment when the lanyard woman demands to see evidence of hyperspace membership despite us being told that you only needed photographic ID. She knows better though and after giving Andy his, doesn't even ask me. for ID but just hands mine over.
9am We enter the hall and suddenly regress to small children. We want to see everything at once and don't know where to look. The music is blasting out and I grin in an entirely unfettlike way. I hope no Bobas see me.
We guffaw at the idea of £85 for Mark Hamill's autograph (I wouldn't pay £85 for him, never mind his signature). We decide to circle the hall, checking out where everything is.
9.30am We enter the Celebration shop, and after C3 I dread the prospect. British people don't seem to have grasped the concept of queued up purchasing hell though and we move easily along the line. There are many things I would like, but an unfortunate, unforseen lack of funds means I settle for the exclusive figure. The Boba Fett statue makes me want to eat my leg off. I show some restraint for once. Eye up a couple of Stormtroopers while waiting. They are thankfully oblivious. Andy mourns his credit card.
10am We check out the artists and Andy identifies Randy Martinez, he is busy when we spot him but an attractive blond friend of his smiles sexily at Andy. Andy is oblivious. We check out the dealers, but it's the same as most places and there's not a lot that I don't have that I want *lies to self*. Andy doesn't seem like the type to require a spare room for all his sad geekware (unlike myself) and seems content enough just to look.
11am, Much perving goes on when Andy spots a sexy Padme in Arena-wear. We note she has a good set and then perv at Slave Leia. I mourn the fact that I haven't seen a decent Fett yet and I've been in the building for a few hours. I try not to sob.
We go to the celebrity stage to see Kenny Baker, there is much s******ing as the man is wired to the moon and goes off on tangents, describing his hotel bathroom and the like. He is as nice as always, but obviously insane.
1pm We finall locate the Fan Club lounge out by the Outer Rim, it seems not many are as lucky as us and the whole weekend it is pretty quiet. Mid lunch Flo arrive with her friend Veronica. She notes I am still eating since the last time she saw me. Andy falls off his chair at the loveliness of Veronica. Flo's friend unfortunately has to leave to sort out a monetary problem back in London and Flo is left to us, bwahahahahahahahaha!
A strange man joins us at the table and talks about the madness in the autograph hall, I mock the amounts of money required to obtain the autograph of Jabba's puppeteers. I mock quite a bit, 'Who would want it?' I scoff. 'You'd be surprised,' replies the man. When he finally gets up I notice the 'Cast and Crew' t-shirt. I get the sinking feeling that he is one of Jabba's puppeteers. I die a thousand deaths, and spend the rest of the convention trying to avoid him.
4pm, We follow the Mark Hamill queue along its length and then laugh at sheer size of it. No chance. We diecide to get something to eat and head out for the outside showing of ANH. When we get outside we discover that being Britain, there are no seats and everyone is just to sit on the grass. We thank the maker that for once it is not raining.
6pm Steve Sansweet for once in his life doesn't get booed and introduces Mark Hamill, who manages to act like a total arsehole and tell everyone there that we are fools. He mucks up his introduction of Ian McDiarmid, and looks like an even bigger fud when Ian comes out to an enormous cheer and has the crowd in the palm of his hand. He is charming and witty and delights the crowd by pulling his immaculate suit jacket over his head and doing a Sidious impression. We all decide to give him our first born right there and then.
7pm Mark Hamill is secretly cursing us all when everyone cheers their favourite character when he appears on screen except Luke Skywalker. I mourn the fact that Boba will only be visible briefly.
7.30pm The showing is punctuated by Flo doing wookiee impressions and me copying Luke's whinging. We dance to any music that occurs. There is much jiggling. The weather amazingly stays fine.
8.30pm In accordance with the laws of 'bloody hell it's Britain', the film breaks down and everyone groans. Two brave souls continue the action in an impromtu obi-wan/vader duel. People cheer. Some leave. The determined souls persevere and wait for someone to get the engineers from the pub.
8.50pm The film starts again. There is much rejoicing.
9.15pm - Everyone looks ready to watch the next two as the film ends. There should have been a marathon. We resign ourselves to the idea that we'll have to go to the pub to drown our sorrows. It's a tough life.
9.45pm Flo has to go home, we walk her to the station then head to the pub. Andy is driving, and resorts to a shandy. I try to behave myself. Try.
<!-- / message --><!-- sig --> Midnight - Once back at Andy's it's obvious he wants to make up for lost drinking time, he suggests a cheeky vodka. He regrets it two minutes later when I get wired in. I become hideously drunk and talk absolute crud. Andy regrets inviting me to stay. He gets drunk to block out the Flo. The bottle regrets being created. I go to bed about 6am or something hideous like that.

I can't believe they want 85 pounds for Hamill's autograph. Pounds??! Whatever. I wouldn't even pay 85 dollars.
I am also in agreement that i wouldn't pay for a Jabba puppeteer autograph. Sure, they're probably interesting and it might be fun to hear some stories, but it's against my personal beliefs to pay someone to sign a piece of paper for me.

85 pounds is a bit steep... The only autograph i would consider getting for that price has to be John Lennon, or Jimi Hendrix...

They should have had the decency to show the theatrical version rather than the 2004 DVD edition.I mean we WERE there celebrating the 30th anniversary.I had a total blast over the three days.Fantastic atmosphere between all the fans.:)

What great fun! My first and as such will always be the best - no matter what!
Missed the gang Friday due to my own silliness...but Saturday was like being with old friends. What a treat! I kept trying to think how I was going to stuff JMH and CJ in my bag and finally gave up when I realized that the over-weight baggage charge would probably need a second home loan to pay off!! And Flo....well I know why all the guys are crazy about her. You should hear her say sh*t! It's wonderful! Scottish rolling "r".... well...you get my drift. Guys keep dreaming!
JMH...JMH...JMH...pool man! I'm crazier than ever! Say Hi to your brother and sister-in-law to be...
Funny... I don't have any group pic either...in fact I have lots of CE pics...but none of the Senators! :( That's just how caught up I was.
Got something "nasty" on my laptop and decided not to use it. No use passing anything around if I caught something. Last time I messed with hardware/software (no Tov not cuffs and boots )...was a Univac 70/35...and he hissed at me!

Got something "nasty" on my laptop and decided not to use it. No use passing anything around if I caught something. Last time I messed with hardware/software (no Tov not cuffs and boots )...was a Univac 70/35...and he hissed at me!
Sorry hun, ya lost me there.

I know. I suck. And I'm no fun. And I'm ginger.
Pretty much, I've got nothing going for me - thanks for pointing that out Horsey. :(

I don't. The missus does. I don't do pictures. If it wasn't important enough for me to remember it, then I won't remember it. ;)
But yes, there are photos that have not been uploaded yet. It's not my camera, so I can't upload them.

^ Surely what's hers is yours?!
Orandhite
12-11-2007, 11:45 AM
No, no, no. What's hers is hers and what's mine is hers, and anything I earn is hers and if I find something on the street it's hers and if I get any presents, they're hers and if I earn anything it's hers.
Basically, I'm not a materialistic person. :nahnah:
I wish I could have been there as well.:(

As Blizzee pointed out Solo, C5 baby, C5. :ok:
That's a long shot. I wish I can be there at that time.
Orandhite
12-11-2007, 11:52 AM
And so you shall be. Otherwise I shall let your wife come and stay with me again! :nahnah:
That's a joke by the way. I have never even met Solo's wife.
^I'm really happy for that.:nahnah:

Jedi Master Harrison

They'll probably do a CEII around the same time as C5 again...

Superb stuff bro!
It's good to see Nef and CJ in the photo below! Shame I look like a monkey in it, look at the state of me after that all night drinking! How dare Flo still look great whilst being hungover!
In this other photo, who is the taller person with the wookiee? :tease: Heh, couldn't resist that one!
