Dagobah. From the Star Wars Databank:

“A distant, mist-shrouded swamp planet, Dagobah does not appear in any modern starcharts. It is a forgotten world, and it was the home of the last remaining Jedi Master and Council member from the waning days of the Republic.

The planet is covered in gnarled trees and fetid swamps. Huge lagoons are home to fearsome snakes and other creatures that swim in the murky waters. Leathery-winged avians take to the fog-filled skies. Though the planet has no signs of technology, its life form readings register as massive. “

Our transport ship is approaching the landing site, a small jut of muddy land rising through the middle of a swampy lagoon. There is barely enough room there to land, but it is the only clearing we could fit the transport into. The area is surrounded by looming vine ensconced trees. The mist rises up past the windows of the ship as we complete our descent.

We are about to embark on an epic adventure. The very first episode of Survivor on the Galactic Senate… located on the remote planet of Dagobah – the planet ten people are about to call home for the next ten weeks. They will be trying to survive the elements in a land where every footstep could result in a quick and watery death. All manner of dangerous creature will be your neighbor. You must rely on your teammates, your instincts… and your intellect to survive.

I am, Kopernikuz, your host for this adventure into these dangerous swamps. The gleaming metal fellow you see next to me is X-3P0… our official protocol and trivia droid. And we want to welcome you to

SURVIVOR: DAGOBAH

Let’s meet our teams.

First, there is Team Aiwha:

StarWarsFan1. He hails from Wisconscin… and is damn proud of that fact. He is also number two in command of the New Drunken Republican Party. Dagobah is a far cry from Wisconsin… will this Badger sink or swim?

Darth Drew. He enjoys 3-D graphics, gaming, Star Wars, Star Trek, and lightsaber fighting. With the dangers of Dagobah, skills with a lightsaber would be beneficial… too bad the players are not allowed weapons. How will he fair with a thick branch?

Clara. Hailing from Austrailia, she enjoys Star Wars, writing Fan Fiction, computers and the Internet, reading every book ever written (except the boring ones. Burn 'Anna Karinina' burn!), and writing novels. If she wrote a journal of her experience on this game would it be a story with a happy ending?

Whitesaber. He enjoys sexy girls, hot girls, pretty girls, cute girls, and just plain girls. He also likes anime, Star Wars, Collective Soul, Weezer, John Williams, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bepop, and good things. Will his enjoyment of Star Wars will pay off for his team in immunity challenges?

Lord Laviathan. He enjoys all the LOTR books and movies, the Star Wars Saga, art, movie production, is a history buff, and is always open and eager to hear others ideas, views, or beliefs. He will definitely get a chance to hear views and ideas during this game, will his debating skills keep him in the popular vote?

Mann. This one comes from sunny Southern Cal and likes movies above all else. Will this movie maniac win the prize? Or be left on the cutting room floor?

And now lets meet Team Reek:

Darth Lara. She enjoys reading, jogging, going to the gym, Star Wars, going for nice walks during cool, sunny days, teaching, and learning about different things every day. Dagobah is hardly the place for cool, sunny days or nice walks. Will this affect her survival?

Vodo Bass. He hails from the United Kingdom and enjoys girls, Star Wars, books, punk rock, computers, Buffy, and Tolkien. Dagobah is dark, foggy, and dreary… he should be right at home being from the UK… will this help him survive?

Rogue 0009. He hails from Canada, and enjoys all things Star Wars, strategy games, socks, reading, hanging out, classical music, low ceilings [they make him feel tall], tarot cards, philosophy, the xylophone, tv, and pie. He’s no Luke Skywalker… but has he already seen the outcome of this game in the cards?

Blizzard. She hails from Minnesnowta and enjoys Star Wars, NASCAR, Thor, teaching, Mountain Dew, but not necessarily in that order. She and Darth Lara both enjoy teaching… who will teach who a lesson in survival?

Queen ‘Onna. She enjoys reading, swimming, rollerblading, shopping, and Star Wars. Dagobah is full of swimming holes, will this skill help her when what swims with you is not friendly.

QuigonWindu. Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, this Ravens fan loves Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Remember the Titans. But will this titan be remembered when the final vote is cast?

And there you have it. Our teams and players. The game is about to begin. There is a bump as the shuttle lands gently on the muddy bank of this small island in the middle of the swamp. The doors slide open and we step out.

Now stand, back… the shuttle is about to take off.

Leaving these two teams stranded in the jungle wilds.
There is a rush of air as the transport ship pulses back into the air. As it begins to rise above the tree line, there is a flash of a shadow, and something large and winged shoots out from the trees. It hits the shuttle with a loud crash, and its bulky form grips the shuttle tightly. It’s hard to see from here, but the creature’s beaked head begins tearing and biting at the transport’s exterior. The transport ship begins to lose altitude and we see it crash through the trees some distance away, the creature still wrestling and tearing at it on the way down.

The crash causes an echo of noise throughout the entire jungle. The trees and water seem to come alive as Dagobah claims a victim in the transport and its crew. Hoots, howls, and cackles stream from the foliage around us, and then slowly… the noise dissipates… and once again the jungle is quiet.

This is it, players. I will leave you for a few days to get to know one another. You may use this thread or private messages to communicate. However, the more you use the thread, the more exposure you will get in the game which may help you when voting comes around.

You have through the weekend to get to know one another, come up with a strategy if any, or form alliances if desired. On Monday morning, you will be given your first topic for conversation and debate… as well as your first set of immunity challenge questions at some time during the day. The first team to deliver the most correct answers to X-3P0 and myself by 10:00pm EST Thursday of each week will gain immunity for that weekend’s voting. When the challenge starts, all the information you need to submit answers will be given to you.

For now, we leave you to yourselves and to the elements. Use this time to talk and relax. For Monday, the adventure begins.

*Laviathan looks around at the overgrown terrain and smelt the molded decaying air*
"Wheres my team at?"

*Lord Laviathan carries all the supplies to clear ground and sets up camp, and begins to wait for the rest of his team to join him,"Boy, I hope there alright, and I hope its not me thats lost.If it grows much later ill build a fire and hope they see the smoke if fog allows" he says as he finds a sturdy branch and begins to form a spear, sharpening it with a jagged rock.*

Clara looks around, trying to remember the map they had been shown before they'd been dumped. Hearing a voice calling her name, she turns and moves toward it. Stepping into a clearing, she sighs with relief.

"Hi Lord Laviathan. Let's be lost together, shall we?"

Moving toward the supplies, she begins sorting them out into groups. "Let's see; long lastible food, not so lastible food. Water. Hmm, blankets. Nuts, thin ones. No pillows." She looked around. "I guess we could use the moss." She shrugged, returning to what she was doing. "Drugs.... Drugs! No no, that's flour. My mistake..."

*kopernikuz*arrives at the central meeting point on a mass of muddy land in the middle of the swamp. There are torches lit around this spot and everyone now comes to gather around.

Okay, players. Welcome to the council island. Hopefully you've been working together and getting to know each other, as well as getting a lay of the land.

It is now time for me to introduce to the game, the first topic of discussion. These topics are designed to promote healthy debate and show each other where each of you stands in relation to specific Star Wars debates. On some, you may find that you all agree. On others, you may find that your teammate is way off base. Do not be afraid to tell them so. This is your opportunity to make yourselves heard... to your teammates... and to the viewers who will decide tie breakers... as well as the final winner. Do you want to take the straight and narrow and play it safe for the sake of not getting voted off? Or will you step up and let your true feelings out and hope everyone will respect your convictions?

Survivor Discussion Topic #1:

There are many debates in the Star Wars fan world... we will be touching on a few throughout this adventure. This first one has been fuel for many a heated online argument. Where do you stand? There is no "right" answer (at least not until Episode III), and you will not be judged for getting it right or wrong. We are looking for what you believe and why.

Who IS Sifodyas? Is he a Jedi gone bad? Is he a dead Jedi, impersonated by one of the Sith? Is he a huge plot-hole? What is your take.

Be sure to give your answer and the argument as to why you think you are right. Feel free to attack the answers of others, spark debate, but keep in mind that X-3P0 and myself are not looking for a specific answer... these topic discussions are for the purposes of helping the teams and the viewers to decide who they think should be voted off or not. Will you take the popular route? Will you stand up for what you believe?

In the end, the voting may swing based on how well each of you helped your team in an immunity challenge... but at the same time, these topic starters help fuel the fire.

Sifo-Dyas, as his name is spelled, was once a Jedi Council member, who died. They never said how he died, but I do not think he went to the dark side. I think Lord Tyrannus aka Count Dooku, used the name to create the army for Sideous aka Palpatine to use when he took over the galaxy.

In Attack of the Clones, it was ten years ago that they said Sifo-Dyas died. And it was ten years ago that the clones were ordered. It was ten years ago that Palpatine worked his way into control of the Senate. (And you thought nothing happened during Phantom Menace!) So I believe it's a slight plot hole, and the only time we hear mention of Sifo-Dyas again is when someone says, "Using the dead Jedi's name to order the clones was genius."

I agree with Blizz; I think Sifo-Dyas was an actual council member who died and Count Dooku used his name to order the clones. It's a case of stolen identity; the dead Jedi Knight can't come back and defend himself, and on the other hand the Jedi Council are trusting enough not to think that someone is using a dead council member's name maliciously.

I finally found my team. I guess, since I'm the first here, I'll answer first...

Syfo, I believe, was really a Jedi that died. But, Palpatine or Dooku used his name to order the clones. In other words, what the other team was saying. Most likely it was Dooku, because it was a Tyrannus that recruited Jango.

I'll be in my hut cooking some worm soup if anyone needs me.

I agree Whitsaber, Yoda said only a Jedi could have erased Kamino. The time matches up with when Dooku retired from the order and the death of Sifo-Dyas, and the order for the Clone Army.

I also agree with Whitesaber. Jango said that he was recruited by a guy called Tyrannus, since Sifo-Dyas was dead when the order was given. Dooku just used a different the name Sifo-Dyas to conceal his identity.

I to belive that Sifo-Dyas is a dead Jedi.I think that Dooku used his name to place the order for the clones so that nobody could track it back to him.

I'm with Queen 'Onna on that one, but with one change; Sifo-Dias was killed by the Sith so that they could use his name in order to gain the clone army.

I have a new theory. The Dark Side clouds the minds of people right? The Jedi have been clouded so much that they have been given a memory that never existed. Sifo-Dyas is a memory that The Sith created in the minds of the JEdi to confuse them and prevent them from discovering the truth of the clones. Sidious is decieving the JEdi so they wont be able to follow his tracks.

granted, this theory is too smart for Star Wars, but it sounds cool to me.

Team Reek wins immunity for week #1. The first nine answers were sent in by Blizzard, and echoed by Darth Lara a little later. The final answer was sent in by Rogue_0009.

StarWarsFan1 was the only member of team Aiwha to send in answers.

However there was one email, I still don't have identified so I can't say which team they sent in from.

Team Aiwha... you must PM me with the name of one of your teammates whom you wish to be voted off of the planet for this week. Please send me a name, and a brief "confessional" as to why you chose them. Your name will not be printed with the confessional.

All votes must be in by Sunday at 8:00 pm, then I will conduct the tribal council and announce the vote's results.

Good morning, teams.

After a thrilling contest, we have one team enjoying the temporary feeling of immunity, and another contemplating a difficult decision. Our game is in full force now. And soon, our number will dwindle by one.

In the meantime, I have a new topic for you to discuss. Again, X-3P0 and myself will play devil's advocate possibly to stir things up, but each player should chime in about the following topic:

Discussion Starter #2
Last week we discussed who Sifo-dyas may actually be. There were some interesting thoughts shared. As a sort of tangent from that conversation, another popularly debated subject about Episode III is whether Palpatine and Sidious are the same person.

Some believe it's obvious, because it's the same actor. Some believe it's supposed to be obvious, so that it's that much more surprising when he isn't. Some believe that Sidious impersonates Palpatine, some believe he is one of his clones. What do you believe? And why?

I think It could be anything really I mean its what comes out of Lucases head but really starwars is a kids fil so I would have to say it iss the same person

I think Palpatine is Darth Sidious.

I think that something is going on and Palpatine is the real puppet being used. Or what could really be cool is that the Jedi were clouded so much with the Darkside, that Sidious was able to fabricate an entire persona of Palpatine in the minds of everyone. Kind of like on Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Dawn. He never existed, but he is a memory formed in their minds.

Sidious and Palpy are the same. Paply is Sidious' alter ego; that's the face he shows to the world. The Future Emperor's true persona hides in the shadows so the Jedi won't detect him.

[Clara]

Sidious and Palpatine are one and the same. If you study the lower half of Palpatine's face and compare it to Sidious, you can see a similarity.

I disagree with Lara though. I don't think Palpatine is Sidious's alter ego, I think it's the other way around. Palpatine grew up with that name and got a job in politics. Somewhere along the line he discovered the Sith and took on the name 'Sidious'. Just remember, Maul's name was Khamir, and Vader was Anakin.



Clara turned to her teammates and smiled. "Okay, lets start our game of trust or dare. Since I came up with the idea, it's only fair I go first." She turned to Lord Laviathan. "You first Laviathan. Truth or dare?"

My most embarrasing moment would have to be about 2 years ago. I was taking a shower over at my friends house, he had left to the store for a minute. Well anyway he has a little sister 16 years old and she had 3 friends over and they thought it would be real funny to take my clothes and all the towels. So I got out of the shower and as soon as I did a pic was taken, I ran after them bare ass-ed and got the pic and my clothes. I laugh about it today but then me and my friend were furious and how we got them back was a thing of beauty.

Second Email: Darth Drew sends in answers 1-7 and 10, #7 is right adding to the pot for team Aiwha. Answer #10 was wrong. They are now at 7 points...

Third Email: Team Reek is heard from. Darth Lara sends in a whopping 9 answers. Numbers 1-8 and 10.

Score so far... 7 Aiwha, 9 Reek.

The Eu is a majour part of Star Wars. Books and comics can show you how characters think feel and use the force it introduces new chararcters worlds. Star wars wouldnt be the thing it is today without the Eu

Even though I stopped reading the EU I think they are a valid part of the SW universe. They add something extra to the saga. When I used to read the EU I liked the way they developed the characters --not counting the crystal *barf* star --. Each book allowed me to see the SW galaxy from another pespective. The EU enhances the saga because it feeds the fan's curiosity for the SW universe.

It's true that George doesn't really think much about the EU. That's because Star Wars is his. He made it, and he can do whatever the Kessel he wants with it.

However, the EU is published with permission from Lucas himself (blah blah blah... all rights reserved). Therefore, I come to the conclusion that the EU is a valid part of the SW Universe.


Now that I've said what I said, I must get to being myself. Say, Lord Leviathan, would you be so kind as to hand me that stick next to you? I'm iching like crazy.

Man, I totally disagree.

Aside from the name Coruscant, he also put Mara Jade into the Special Edition of Return of the Jedi! Lucas claims he doesn't accept the EU as part of his story, but he claims a lot of things.

In the novel Splinter of the Minds Eye Vader got his arm cut off and the whole thing was mechanical. It just didn't fit with the movies or the rest of the novels. Until after AotC... and now we know his arm was all mechanical.

Vodo cunningly crawled on his stomch all te way t the team Aihwa camp. He could sense the stew in ever sense of the word if your sensing what I mean. He saw Star wars fan 1 about to get more stew thats when he made his move. Vodo stealthfully leapt behind star wars fan 1 drawing a knife and pressing it against his throat.
"If you want to ge out of this alive you will do as I say ok " SWF1 nodded in agreement." Ok pass me you bowl............good now fill it with stew...........good your doing well. Now smell this!" Vodo quickly fliped aroud so his back faced SWF1 and then farted in his face. Vodo then ran off bowl of stew in hand skipping whilst SWF1 lay coughing on the ground.

Vodo looked up to see Laviathan towering over him.
"Now that was'nt very nice." Laviathan said
Vodo tried to get up but Laviathan pinned him on the ground with his boot and held his sword to vodo's neck.

Laviathan takes a spoon full of boiling stew and pours it on Vodos face.

"Was that tasty??, no, hmm well then better get back to your own camp and dont come back."

Clara, I for one will be sorry to see you go... particularly since your team will not eat now that you are gone, and you were one of the few to try to liven things up with a game of truth or dare. Thanks for your efforts. There is a shuttle waiting beyond those trees.

Are there tremendous plotholes between the two trilogies? Or reliable explanations? Name at least one common misconception or valid plothole (whichever you believe it to be) and justify your reasons for calling them one or the other. Feel free to challenge the suggestions of others.

If need be... I can throw some out that people generally debate, but I thought I'd let you bring them up if you had them first.

1. In ESB Obi Wan tells Luke that Yoda trained him, but in TPM we saw that Qui Gon Jinn was Obi Wan's master.

2. There's something not quite right with the DS's provenance. I guess we'll find out about this in EIII.

Kope, I'm trying to figure out why does Tarkin feel so possesive of the DS, as if he was the master mind behind its construction. I guess we'll probably see Palpy getting his hands on the DS, taking credit for it and having the Geonosians work on the DS like the Egyptians working for Pharaoh.

I read a thread started by Bond where he asked why did Obi Wan call Vader Darth as if it was his first name. That's a plot hole....unless Obi Wan wanted to give Luke a simple explanation, part of his "from a certain point of view" cop out, because he didn't want to get into all the Sith history and it would give out too much information. Maybe Obi Wan called him Darth to make a point, he wanted to make Vader feel as if he didn't have any importance, as if he just was another dark jedi.

Are you referring to possessiveness in the film? Or in the EU? Have you read Rogue Planet? You can sort of see his connection there... the fact that the plans were in the hands of the Geonosians could be considered a plot-hole compared to the EU, except for the fact that the Geonosians are likely the constructors... not the masterminds. Hrm... interesting topic.

I was talking about his possesiveness in the OT. I haven't read Rogue Planet and don't intend to since I stopped reading the EU after they killed Chewie. This is what drives me nuts about the EU, if there's going to be an explanation it should be in the movies. Everything in the EU that tries to fill in the plot holes is hearsay as far as I'm concerned. (hey, that's a good idea for a thread)

What's your opinion on the explanation that Yoda trains all children? Obi-Wan would have been in a clan before being attached to Qui-Gon... so techincally he was trained by Yoda... all Jedi are... except Anakin... hrmmmmmm

Good point, Kope. To tell you the truth I hadn't thought of that possibility and it seems perfectly feasible since Obi Wan seemed to be giving Luke half truths, and enough information in order to protect him -- and some of the details didn't really concern him, Luke.

Well what's Obi gonna say to avoid the plot hole "Luke you will go to the Daghoba system, there you will learn from Yoda, who instructed me, well not really y'see this other guy named Qui-gon taught me but he's dead so i'm recommending you to this Yoda guy I knew. He's supposed to be really good, anyway go the Daghoba system." It's not anyway relevant to story its just a convienient way to get Luke to Daghoba for more Jedi training.

Team Reek sits on the edge of the swamp, chewing on gimer sticks, except for Vodo, who is gnawing on his own foot. They watch the bubbles in the water coming up from two swamp slugs either fighting or having sex.

Just as it starts to rain, again, an enourmous knobby white spider walks slowly overtop the Reeks and begins to take root, becoming another of the many gnarl trees. A butcherbug immediately crawls up the new tree and starts spinning a deadly razor-sharp web above 'Onna's head. She doesn't mind. 'Onna waits until the bug is done, then eats the bug.

QW watches the avians fly over the swamp trying to catch the crabs that come to the surface when it rains. He knocks one silly with a rock from his slingshot and laughs as it flaps in the water and the crabs get their revenge as they drag the big bird underwater.

Lara sticks her legs out into the rain and tries to wash the sand from her feet, but the rain is blacker than the sand and the milky water only covers her legs like a mud bath. The tiny frogs that fell with the rain from the trees branches far above start hopping up her stomach and chest, trying to escape the mud; tickling her and she breaks into a giggle fit.

A dragonsnake swings down from a leg-branch into Rogue's face. He watches it swing there for a second, looking for a victim, and when it notices him Rogue karate kicks it away with ease.

The snake narrowly misses Vodo as he sits quietly, happily chewing away on his appendage, only looking up when Blizz says, "Well guys, this week team Reek comes to an end and the neighbors move in..."

"I hope they bring food," says 'Onna.

"I hope they are not stronger than me, " says Rogue.

"We are sticking together, right?" says QW.

"I wonder if they are cute?" says Lara.

Vodo burps.

* The practically brain dead Tommy decides to have a little fun and sneak into the girl tent at nigh, he tries to get the other guys to coma along, but only Vodo agrees. So, they go to the girl tent with rats and snakes to stick in thier sleeping bags. But when they arrive, Blizz get's out the pepper spray. Tommy falls into a mud river and is never seen again (until the next week). Sometimes at night, if you listen closely, you can hear him singing Baby Got Back*
