I've looked around the Games section and so far found nothing that related to this game.
If there is already a thread, then please lock and point me in the right direction.... style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

The original game was brought out in 1995, which featured a basic starter set.

Did anyone else get these and start building up sets?
Anyone still got them?

There is a full card list available here:
http://www.decipher.com/starwars/cardlists/index.html

I've also included a picture of what the original starter set looked like.

This might be the thread you're looking for. Not CCG specific though.

I bought the starter set back in the day. That's it. I really, really wish I'd been able to invest more time and money in it. And I really didn't have any friends to play it with.

Yes, i took a look at that thread, but its aimed more at Trivial Pursuit than the actual Card Game.. but thanks for looking too. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I was lucky enough to have someone to play with.. i choose Dark Side and have built my deck up quite a bit, though i did miss a lot of the years where there were more booster packs etc brought out for the game.

I'm attempting to catch up now thought...

I've played the game once or twice. When Decipher lost the SW contract and Wizards picked it up, this game died and gave way to a much simpler game called Star Wars Trading Card Game. I was really into that for a while, but then stopped caring, cuz the game wasn't that great. The CCG, though, is pretty good.

I loved this game - def. my favourite card game of all time style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

I had a Light Side deck, and after a 7-year hiatus I'm starting to build up my pack again (thanks EBay!). Anyone with decent cards, please contact! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

A year or so back, I responded or posted a thread about this. I got into the Decipher cards when Young Jedi came out. Then, I went on to Jedi Knights, and realized that the original CCG is the coolest. The games were to complicated for me at the time, partly because I was the only one that I knew that collected them. I almost have complete sets of the Young Jedi card game, lesser so of the Jedi Knights, and a pretty good collection of CCG, considering that when I got into them was when they stopped being published. Around the time of Theed and Coruscant. Anyways, for a few months after, Decipher, I guess, gave all of their cards to some . . . other company that packaged boosters and starters of all the Decipher cards together. It was advertised, and correctly so, that one box was $40.00 worth of cards, sold for about $12. I bought about five or so of those. And then eBay.

So in conclusion, I love these things, and I'm willing to trade. I've even got some unopened booster packs.

Lastly, I will be going to Comic-Con next week, and I'm anxious to pick up some more.

My brother and his friends were really into this game when it was released. Since I was a lot younger, the game was a lot more complicated and I never bothered trying it. Recently though my brother has been trying to complete some of the sets he has.

I have a few friends off at college that I play with, and the reason you can still find people that play, even after the four years the game has been out of print, is that it's an amazingly complex and satisfying game to play. You only need a friend and a deck to play, don't have to worry about damage counters, dice, etc., and the deck strategies are virtually endless. I'm a fan of Jedi decks myself, but it's even possible to go completely off the deep end and create an absolutely silly strategy that actually works (for instance, I've learned that it's possible to deploy Ewoks in their hang-gliders up in space, as long as you wrap your Ewok in a Rebel flightsuit). It really captures the essence of Star Wars.

Yep, that captures it alright.

I really wish I had a deck and somone to play with.

Not the best two lines to put next to each other, I'll admit...

Hahaha... i so got that Ewok image!!

Well.. i have DarkSide cards... really would love the Emperor or DarkSide Lando to add to my Collection - but you know.. rare cards and all that.

I think i have quite a good collection and "playing" deck.

So if anyone wants a game?? lol
(CJ... how about you :P)

ARGH! I can justify spending 25-30 on the cards . . . but not the additional 25 on shipping.

Oh well. Thanks for the heads up!
