Well, I've not opened too many threads, so if this goes then fair do's.

I've noticed that this place has been pretty quiet of late. Not just in terms of the amount of posts, but the amount of folks actually hanging about.

So, not in action against it, because we all have quiet times, as I know our U.S. friends have had a bit of an important shindig this past week, but when this place seems a bit like we're passing the pong ball between us, can a few of us gather slightly and just have a quiet word, about not much, just that we are the only few appreciating this usually busy joint? Bliz /Obi / Magnus I await your judgement. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

And so,
My, isn't it quiet in here?

Heyas Talcy! It always gets quiet in here when it's summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Everyone is outside enjoying the sun. Except me, of course. Here I sit, board out of my mind, dreading the big birthday next Tuesday.

Maybe it's part of the whole Star Wars downturn that's starting to happen. Now that the series is complete, people are falling away from it.

I'm not sure about some of it being down to a SW downturn. I rarely post in SW threads now. It's weired that some threads are quieter now - even the Dr Who and UK threads have been fairly quietish of late.

And, Flo, glad to know my bum is capable of cheering someone up, especially in the light of the shoddy weather. :D God knows, it's big enough right now.

I had one old man come up to me asking me where EVERYthing was because he was too fricking lazy to look for himself, saying like "Where's the sugar, boy?" "Where's the ketchup, boy?"

I was so pissed off by the 10th time when he came up to me asking "Where's the milk, boy?" I turned around and half-shouted "In the fridge, man!" That shut him up hahahahaha :p

Autum is beginning. Kids are back in school. October is for most the end of the fiscal year...so budgets are being furiously written and submitted for approvals.

Xmas is what? Less than 90 days away. Have you even started that adenture yet? Or are you one of this who has learned to shop through the year...and now all that's left is wrapping.

The weather is changing. The foliage has come to its end and the trees are bare and looking sad. Air conditioners are being turned up or even in someplaces turned off....the heater has been turned on. Some have a rainy season just before winter starts and Halloween will be chilly...be sure to wrap the little ones up.

Thanksgiving will fill lthe house full of smells and family...who will hopefully go away a day later, because remember Christams they stay longer.

Do you need to start pulling out the winter cloths, mitten and caps....but can't remember precisely where you put them last spring. They were supposed to go there, but...doesn't look like it.

My favorite come back to a situation or adventure that doesn't make a good grade....

Y'know, I love Chrismas. I absolutelt adore it, even as an "adult". But, wandering into even just a local newsagent/grocer shop (Co-Op) the other day, they had a whole little aisle dedicated to wrapping paper and Cadbury's selection boxes - again, I love chocs too - but it's kind of depressing and takes the shine off of Christmas when this stuff's around and it isn't even Halloween. I tend not to start to thinking about it too much until after Fireworks night (5th Nov in the UK), but when it's around just now...zaaaah! Walking along Princes Street in Edinburgh and Jenners look like they're starting to get "festive" in their windows. It just spoils it a bit. :hmmm:

At least the tv ads bombardment hasn't started here yet - it usually has at this time of year. Or maybe it has - I don't really watch ITV as it's a bit crap. I'm a Beeb boy.

And at least there aren't fireworks going off every night, as gangs of little gits set of illegally obtained fireworks early in the local park or just around the corner, scaring the cack out of my dog and cats. Small mercies. God, I've become Victor Meldrew, and I'm not even 35 yet.

"...jobby touch"

Can you define that for me?

(...sounds like something I'd use, but I'd like to make sure no one's coming after me with a bat...)
LOL, jobby is slang for a poo. The 'jobby touch' is like a horrendous version of the 'midas touch', instead of gold it means everything you touch turns to sh**e
thanks for that Talc

Imagine Bill S. Preston or Wayne Campbell but slightly more uncouth:

Nae - No

I think the expletive explains itself.

ya - you

radge (noun) - common slang with various meanings; headcase, lunatic, reckless person, one liable to cause harm or damage, idiot, simpleton, pregnant fish (last one's an urban myth but always went down well in the playground).

LOL, Baw jaws is indeed what you googled but in Glasgow people will affectionately insult people they like, even people they fancy. So baw jaws is just a name someone might shout to get your attention.
As for the rest...
Actual: "Aw right then. Hey baw jaws, yer a pure stoatir so ye ur"
Translation: "Alright then. Hey you! You're really good looking, yes you are."

Actual: "Ye make me want tae keel awur. Ah pure fancy you so hows about it eh?"
Translation: " You make me want to swoon. I really find you attractive so do you want to have sexual relations?"

Actual: "Get yer coat yev pulled. Mon back tae mines."
Translation: " You should collect your coat, you have managed to pick me up. Please come home with me."

Hope this helps! LOL!

Man, I wouldn't have gotten sexual innuendo from that. I'd have guessed that it was an invitation back to a land minefield.
